I took some pictures from your video and went out and showed the shop 🏬 owner he also makes wood 🪵 stuff 🚪🪑🪟🪞but he refused saying it is very difficult not working always.He said it is very difficult, we cannot do such a thing. ☹️

Hey man I was thinking of building this design aswell then I stumbled across your video when you look at the finished shopping board from a birds eye veiw like as you're about to cut something what are the measurements of the brick and mortar?
Next time clean and sand out the burnt marks on the finger grips before you put the mineral oil on it. Believe me I forgot on one of my cutting boards and lost the sell because of that burnt mark!
Do you have thoughts on spraying the board with water after your initial sanding to raise the grain? Then sanding again to get the fuzzies off? And then applying your final coats of oil....
Thanks! The board ended up about 15 3/4" x 9 1/8". The bricks are about 1 1/8" x 1 7/8". The mortar strips are 1/4" thick, and the finished board is 1 7/16" thick.
Hi there - what type of bit are you using in the router when you are smithing down the tops of the boards? I like that idea with the jig you have created. Beats buying a drum sander or chance jointing them through a planer
Do you have any data to back up your claim about using sand paper? Never heard that before. Also not quite sure how my day planner is going to smooth my board but ill give it a try.

You should use a guard on the saw! People will think its safe to use it as you do. Its not. I doubt you'll post the video of when you cut your fingers off. Reckless at best
*Kinda disgusting and unhealthy* ... All this glue in contact with food... Also while cutting, chopping sooner or later micro cuts will be ripping out pieces of wood and glue from it, creating big amounts of small glue crumbs.. *Bon appetit* ! I use marble cutting boards.

Just look at your board and amount of pieces it is connected with. Each of this pieces, as we saw in the video is heavily glued with artificial toxic glue, which you later consume. You will probably not see it nor taste it but you will be consuming glue over time. Sometimes thing happen while you can't see it. That's is where imagination is coming handy ;) Glue is glue. It is artificial and it is harmful. Question is, if you even used FDA approved glue for the job? Probably. I am pretty sure that you are aware of necessary use of FDA approved binding substances in the kitchen wood tools. Still, glue is heavy chemical artificial product and should be avoided. Or maybe you trust FDA? :b That's why the most expensive wooden kitchen boards are made of single pieces of hard wood like maple, olive, oak etc, treated only with natural oils. No glue my friend :) But have fun with that. The process itself required skills and looks fun. But the product is unacceptable for professionals or people concerned about healthy lifestyle. Peace out.
😅 I think your imagination is a little TOO active. Virtually every commercially produced wooden cutting board is multiple pieces glued together. If you want to ruin your knives on a stone slab, that's your prerogative. 🤷♂️

Perfectly safe. The glue is rated food safe and the mineral oil is for human ingestion. Many tens of thousands of boards are made this way every year.

I used Titebond 3 on this one, but mostly use Titebond 2 now. Both are rated safe for food contact once they're cured.

Don't use a sander on a cutting board. The particles from the sandpaper will destroy the sharpness on your knife. Use a planner instead.
That just knocked "never use walnut" out of first place as the oddest cutting board advice I've heard.

I dont know anyone, online or off, that uses a guard. At best it's peace of mind, at worse it's harder to use and more dangerous because of it.
To say its more dangerous to use a guard is beyond stupid and lacks commonsense
If you feel safer using one, by all means do. This video nicely reflects my feelings on them.
