I am so glad that I’m not the only one who never picked red cars in games because they blended in with the taillights especially on the R34 in GT2. It’s such a specific thing but i’m right there with you
_I have found my people_
Yes, i hate that kind of blending
@@BladedAngel I always thought this, some people criticised me for not making ferraris red, I generaly make them yellow because of that
The only car I think the rear lights need blending in with the paint, is the NSX, those pointy ends that go up into the spoiler look awful to me lol

I never knew the Hood Window on the C6 was considered Bad, I always liked it.
Whomever said it was ugly is a dummy .
It's my second favorite gen of corvette
C6 zr1 is a mean car and looks great
@@bhcamaro2002 i love how Chevrolet nicked it: The Blue Devil
The Hood Window would have been awesome on the Viper.
I genuinely can't stand the fake exhaust tips
Check out the Diesel S5 S4
@@Fiwek23452 I'm not a fan of the new Audi design anyway but this just made my opinion of them even lower
So does Matt Watson

This new exhaust tips with the extra part are fine. There are a lot of reasons for them.
What I cannot accept are 'true fake exhaust tips' where no real exhaust inside.
Wait, the hood window on the C6 was considered tacky? I liked it from the start!
Fake Exhaust Tips
Positives: 1. They'll stay clean longer
Negatives: 1. They don't exit the rear
2. Your bumper and lower valance will get carbon build up
3. On a cold day, you'll see the smoke exit before the exhaust tips
4. They look odd from directly behind
in my opinion the most important negative is that they are just... fake
@@littleskeleton420 yes and in my opinion I kinda like the burnt look on my exhaust tips cuz my car shoots flames, I kinda stopped caring on trying to clean them and I honestly kinda like the look…it don’t look dirty it just looks good to me but that’s just me
I was disappointed to see that new Nissan Maximas have fake quad tips when in the mid 2000's they had real quad tips and with Nissan marketing the Maxima as the "4 door sports car" even though it has a CVT you're expecting real quad tips with a marketing campaign like that
im sure that everyone know that but have you notice that the right exhaust on the camry is fake.also ,the v6 version has that on the two side
Yeah real exhaust tips are 10x better, and they really aren't that hard to clean, I have a 98 mustang gt with dual exhaust, doesn't really get covered in soot or anything, just gets some water streaks, I usually dont wipe them down
Nothing like bladed uploading to help you calm down while you’re in the middle of an existential crisis caused by finding the right wheel size for your car.
okay gl with that
21' for the memes :))
18s wouldn't be bad on a Z. It depends on if you want a modern classic look or a classic classic look
I personally like the c6 zr1 hood as its really unique and it kinda blends with the black greenhouse, it's just suiting and i like it a lot
The disconnected exhaust tips on the new c8 Z06 are designed to reflect sound towards the cabin, instead of channeling it behind the car.
Personally this is one set of "fake" exhaust tips that I am okay with because as the driver I want to hear the sound, instead of the soccer mom behind me.
Yeah the c8 is forgivable because of true functionality (unlike the amg gt :/ )
Btw nice humour 😂
Yea, this extra pipe is fine, there a lot of benefits.
What I will not accept: fake exhaust without real exhaust inside.
The digital gauges on the C4 Corvettes look absolutely amazing, retro af
Car manufacturers in the 80's be like: "Screens are the future everything will be behind a screen even your speed!"
And then the 90's hit and screens basically went down to the ones that were in your radio, clock, and odometer and then fast forward about 30 years and look where we're at now
@@meep9935 they jumped the screen technology
The C4 is just the perfect 80s sports car, it looks a lot better than most people give it credit for
YES, finally someone else who hates red cars for the tail lights.I absolutely love seeing tail lights pop on a car, so every one I've owned has been white or silver. It's also the reason I can't stand tinted or blacked out lights, it just looks bland to me
Blacked out lights are really dumb imo. But I can't make a video on it, or I'd get dragged by all the edgelords. Thankfully there's an FB Group dedicated to draggin them called, "I tint my tail-lights so they work less"
@@BladedAngel Not to mention that some of your earlier fans will remember Calli having tinted taillights and will go "BuT bLaDeD yOu HaD TiNtEd tAiLLiGhTs BeFoRe," despite the fact that as we get older opinions can change, and in your case regarding taillights it has were I did the opposite because as a kid I liked clear taillights but now I don't but I also don't like them being so black you can't see any red I like a little bit of red and a little bit of tint but nothing excessively edglord
I don't like blacked out tail lights either but I love smoked tail lights (like the OEM ones) with LEDs because it somehow makes the lights pop in a way lol.
The Valenti fogged taillights on the 86 platform looks really good. Might seem a little bland but on my old burnt orange 86, they looked great!
@@DeVanHelmoski On a burnt orange they might actually look cool. I don't see many cars that color though, mostly silver or white, red or blue these days lol. Can't say too much though, every car I've had was white or silver, favorite car colors personally. Just a shame they get dirty way to easy haha.
Funnily enough all of these cars when they came out back in the day I appreciated a lot
I hated red on BMW for that exact reason actually the taillight just blended in and it looked horrid, for some reason no other cars had an issue like that for me haha
You're entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion the fake exhausts has never been good looking and will always look bad imo.
You said imo x2
However, it is more functional to have fake tips over real tips as gaudy as they may look in your eyes. If you ever get get rear-ended by some idiot not paying attention to what he or she is doing and your car has a real exhaust all the way through, chances are greater that your exhaust system is going to be damaged and need to be totally replaced and that would be a more expensive repair cause the exhaust system would be ON TOP OF replacing the rear bumper. However, if your car got rear-ended and it had fake tips instead, The repair would be cheaper as you would only need a replacement bumper and that is really it. I mean, which would you rather have to replace? Both the exhaust and rear bumper and having to pay more for it? Or just the bumper and paying less? Mull that over in your head a bit and you would come to that realization that functionally fake tips are better than real tips.
@@alecday3775 you're gonna replace the exhaust either way because it still extends into the bumper, there's just additional fake tips that serve no purpose
I prefer saying “I never liked the fake exhausts and I will never like fake exhausts.” Good and bad are more objective terms which obviously don’t fit subjective opinions that well. Of course there are things that are objectively and factually bad and deserve to be labeled as such but this isn’t exactly one of those things. But this is just a suggestion and you don’t have to do this.
7:25 2 reasons
1- it cost less to make an exhaust with a tip that does not have to be nice ( just a pipe)
2- it got generalized for "low speed hit" to prevent the whole exhaust from being damaged and the whole exhaust line to be pushed and damaged.
So why the cant leave the pipe without fake exhaust tips? It wouldn't look as ugly and pathetic than this factory fake stuff in my opinion.
Yeah like say some moron could be behind the wheel texting and he or she could hit you while she isn't paying attention to the road ahead and you wind up rear-ended with a bent bumper but your real exhaust is still in perfect working order. So yeah, I agree with you on the functionality front.
@@frz_lehmann3003 Cause it is more functional to have fake tips as he stated.
@@alecday3775 It doesn't affect rear ending when you have an ugly pipe under your car instead of an ugly pipe with fake exhaust tips (Both not at the end of the car, but like 10cm shorter). You would have to replace only the bumber in both ways. The bumber without fake exhaust tips would probably be cheaper. Anyways why would I care about the costs if i get rear ended. The person which caused the accident would have to pay for it.
@@frz_lehmann3003 it protects your actual exhaust from being damaged in the wreck. If you have a real exhaust and someone rear-ends you as i said, the chances of it of getting bent up as well as the bumper are greater than if you had fake exhausts. I do get that you dont like how they look but if you look at it from a functionality standpoint, you would be glad you had them cause your repair bill would be A LOT cheaper thanks to them.
The taillight part hit me hard ngl
I'm used to collecting 1/24 car models.
One of the model makers is Maisto and quite often they don't bother making taillights a separate plastic piece, just red paint on a metal body.
However on red models they don't even bother to *APPLY* that paint, which results in taillights having the *EXACT SAME PAINT* as the body.
Look up their 1/24 370Z as an example, it's hideous.
Eww Maisto makes the worst garbage quality models I have seen, I'll rather buy hotwheels!
Holy fuck the 370 is horrible
Oh it’s awful.
Maisto as a company Is terrible when it comes to quality control. Almost all of their cars have orange peel, my spoilers keep falling off, and the wheels wobble more than my fat cat. It's just not worth the price.
No clue what you people are talking about. I have a 60 dollar centenario model at home and it looks great and is built well
Bladed, thank you for putting the Proton Wira Special Edition at the beginning, really calms my Malaysian heart, very proud to see that my country gets a representation in your video. Yes, the wing is rice (because the car only had 8% more horsepower than the standard Wira Aeroback), and my uncle had one without the wing, but it's cheeky, and I love that.
WHERE'S THE WIRA??? HERE'S THE WIRAAA!!!!
If I ever own a supercar, which I doubt, I rather have a grocery getter exhaust than fake tips. Good grief it feels like I'm driving a politician: promises cool shit, is a bunch of misplaced metal and smoke in the end
Bladed doesn’t miss with these videos recently
My views show otherwise :(
@@BladedAngel let's hope the algorithm helps out
@@BladedAngel pray to the algorithm gods
@@BladedAngel it’s unfortunate man, u deserve way more views than u get. I’ve been watching u for a few years so you’ve helped me shape my taste in cars in some way lol, and I thank u for that.
Also I partly blame u for why I’m a weeb now lmao :)
5:36, yeah I can relate to that.
When I was a kid, I would try to avoid red cars when the taillights directly touched the body (and I still do actually), unless it is a different shade of red. Even for Test Drive Unlimited, I remember going for a yellow Enzo and a white F430 because of the taillights. In other games where you could place decals and vinyls wherever you like (like NFS, Carbon, Most Wanted, Pro Street, and Juiced 2), I would have to use something to separate the body from the tails if I wanted a red car.
4:25 Shows a 944 with clear taillights but didn't mention the 944 in the widebody section. When Porsche took the 924, wodebody'd it and released the 944
To me the Gumpert Apollo was always a gorgeous car... trends I hate, matta black abs plastic on the exterior of cars... my 2020 civic has it and I've been slowly painting them to gloss black to match my color scheme of gunmetal and black
Bladed I think that when time goes by the multipla could get beautiful. It's Probably ahead of its time.
i dunno bout that one chief
@@BladedAngel you never know bladed. you never know...
@@BladedAngel i mean it's not pretty from factory but i think that if you bag it,paint it black and aftermarket wheels it could look better or even decent
1:24
Just gonna say. I didn’t know even know about the window. Seems weird but also good idea for a corvette. But now I know
Best lost trend: individual keys of different shapes for different functions.
Worst trend: piano black plastic that gets dirty and scratches even if you don't touch it.
As a malaysian, I know what the wira thing at the start.
That car is called "Proton Wira" Made by a malaysian manufacturer "Proton", it's a sedan/coupe sedan, it was released around the 1990's and there's still a lot of them today, half of them that I saw are not stock based on my experience. Hell, some people even converted it to Evo 3.
I agree with number 3, i prefer clear taillights because they match the headlights
great perspective bro I like clear ones for the exact same reason
Dude I just cannot agree with clear tail lights. Red tail lights are part of the aesthetic of cars in general to me.
Works with some cars and not others. Works for some people and not others. To each their own.
Jeremy Clarkson: The Apollo is too flashy
Ronald Gumpert : I took that personally
Tengen Uzui: I took that spiritually
i didnt see that coming
on the topic of tail lights, I agree with you with red tail lights blending into red cars. I like both red and clear tail lights (prefer red a little more, but still like clear), But I think Red on Red is too much blending, and I also think clear lights on a white/light gray car is too much as well. Red on white/gray and white on red look great in my opinion. And as for the other colors, either tail light looks good, although i think red lights on a lighter color, and clear on a darker color looks the best.

Bro I totally agree with you on the red taillight thing. Red cars with clear taillights are sick. But when you get red lights on the red car it feels like it’s just a detail that doesn’t mesh. It’s a small thing but can bring it all together
Just watched the new Life of Palos video and he gave you a shout out for this video. Never heard of this channel before but great commentary and loved the video!
Real exhaust tips need to become more mainstream. What’s the point of the fake ones rather than “being clean”
That whole bit with the red cars, you vocalized something that always lowkey bugged me in the back of my mind that I also couldn’t quite put my finger on
My 2012 F-150 came with clear tail lights and it makes the truck look better. I agree with you about the clear in red. It looks good. Love the videos!!
There's nothing i love more than a nice car havin a little bit of thiccness to it from wide fenders. Thats why i loved my CTS Coupe, and why i intend to get the V-model coupe now
I definitely understand the red tail light entry because my favorite color is red but I don’t wanna paint my car red and I just realize that might be why 😂
Around 6:30ish you are NOT the only one who feels that way about red tail lights. You hit my thoughts on them exactly. I personally don’t care for red paint so much because of it’s difficulty to match, but my truck is the one exception. She’s a clean-ish sh**box, though I can’t say I will buy another red vehicle. I like the passion you put into your video, this is my 1st. You made a sub outta me! Safe to way what’s next to binge
cool seeing you drive through martinsville to indy , done that drive back and forth from Bloomington to indy a million times
You put it perfectly into words regarding the red tail lights. I feel the same way too since like forever!
0:05 yes that comes with a weird silver rear spoiler *(all show and no go)* on that Proton Wira Special Edition (WiSE). It has about 88+- hp. The WiSE also came with bucket seats, a sports exhaust, a tuned suspension, a red speedometer, an aluminium gear knob, aluminium pedals, and 16-inch GTi-spec wheels.
Didn't the speedometer are based on body paint?
I'm surprised seeing a proton wira in one of bladed's videos
For me it's rear diffusers. I use to think they looked out of place but more and more carmakers have been getting better at integrating them into cars' design in a way that look pretty good.
Aye i just saw you in the meet in JC on Tuesday. Your vette is beautiful in person man hope I can see you around more!
Even the bgm in Bladed's videos is always so thoughtful
The fake exhaust tips have a second important purpose in that if u have a rear-accident it's easier to just exchange the bumper rather then the whole exhaust system.
I also had the same red car gripe that you had. From games like Forza Horizon 3 to Lego City Undercover there were very few cars that I put red on because you couldn’t see the taillights.
0:06 wow I NVR thought Proton Wira SE will be shown here (I'm a Malaysian btw, good work bladed angel)
Holy crap you just helped me figure out why I love red but not on cars. You’re definitely not the only one!
I love the corvette zr1. My absolute dream corvette and I also have clear tail lights on my 10th Gen civic. They look like diamond and with my type r style headlights they’re perfect 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Bro that's literally exactly why I never did or still do bright reds in games or irl, that's why my favorite red on a car is a good dark cherry pearl.
I first discovered the Gumpert Apollo when I started playing forza horizon 1. I was 12 years old at the time and instantly fell in love with this car. I sometimes load up my old xbox 360 to drive it.
Man the Gumpert Apollo was like my favorite cart as a kid! Also the Multipla is a gorgeous in an utilitarian sense. It is one of the most ergonomic and easy to drive cars. You have all the visibility and you can pack a lot more stuff into it than other minivans from it's class.
I just noticed that in the background footage you drove through my home town. My brain is melting.
funny you mention car colors effecting details. Its the single reason ive gotten either very dark grey or black cars or white or silver cars. the contrast is what makes detail pop.
I also relate to the red car and tail light bit I never made a car red in any game before unless I can tinit the tail lights like in NFS
Seatbelts aged pretty well imo
the tail light rant was so relatable
never knew these thing before,ty for telling us :D
6:30 bro same lmao, I always thought it looked uninspired
I never thought about or noticed that with the red cars and taillights... Mind blown!! 🤯🤯
My first introduction to the Gumpert Apollo was the DLC for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2010. I already loved how it looked as a racer in that game, but the livery that the cop version sported made it the only car in the entire game that I genuinely stopped for a minute to appreciate before getting back to playing.
Red cars with clear headlights is something I never knew I needed, but now I need it.
Clear tail lights work on some cars but on most I just think it look wrong
I never tought gummpert Apollo was ugly I tought it was like the best looking car ngl
DUDE SAME I've always had issues with red and yellow cars for the same reason! I've never liked how the taillights look on those color cars!
I feel the same about red cars because I can’t see the tail lights. I’m glad I’m not the only one lol. I was surprised that you said that.
saw a gumpert apollo sport on teh highway once. ill never forget it. such a dope car.
Loved the Gumbert Apollo as a Kid too i remember in 2009 i collevted matchbox cars of it
5:30 NIIIIIAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Also, i never realized it before but that is a good point about how red lights blend in to red body color cars. Now i think I'm gonna look at every red car and go "hmmmm, should have clear lights" lol (the only exception is my red 88 C1500 because that was designed to blend in and it looks amazing)
Finally a new video my day is secured
i've always like the glowing steering wheel
if you ever thought about how gumpert apollo was made, the concept is even better.
it's actually named Tornante (the ones with aston martin-ish taillight, not the other one)
I finally found someone who could make sense of my distaste of red cars, TO MYSELF.
Now I get it too.
I'm 100% with you about red cars and clear tail lights. I first noticed on the nissan gtr r35 the round lights are iconic. The red car wreaks it.
6:00 I have those tail lights! My OEM ones went out so I got those they are clear when off. I think they look great on the s197. The OEM ones have their own charm too though
On the taillight section and the video games I felt literally the exact same way lmao. I thought I was the only one
Yep I have euro spec tail lights on my 05 Cadillac STS4. There were clear American lights but the led’s are all red, the euro spec have Amber and red, they look sick.
Great video bladed how do you feel about the mustang gt with the clear cut out.
the tail lights and Nia got me
From a designers / standpoint I can understand the fake exhaust tips allow better flow of lines such as the RR’s and Lexus.
It would be not only inconvenient in sense of production and cost to fab specific exhaust tips for every vehicle,
But one of the most common accidents include rear fender benders and more often than not, the exposed exhaust will get damaged , vs an easily replaceable bumper / QP fender. The receded exhaust/ fake tips has grown on me in regards to functionality.
A black or yellow car with red taillights always looked good to me. Any other colour I think clear overall looks better aesthetic wise. Circle tail lights like some vettes or skylines looked great in yellow with the bright red tail lights.
I also hated the red colored hotwheels because the taillights couldn't stand out (I used to just color them black as like a tint)
best video posted on my birthday :)
Nope, you’re not alone. I’m with you. Red is my favorite color, but have only bought one car (among 20) that was red and the taillight thing bothered me so much that I had to tint them and never bought one since for this reason 🤙🏾
Hell nah, that early 2000s ferrari interior you showed on screne would look amazing with shift lights
Wait....Proton Wira came in your vid?😂that a shock seeing my country brand be in high subs channel
Me feeling proud when I see my country's wira in a Bladed video xD
I never liked the clear taillights personally, so I guess I'm a goofball
The rest is on point to me tho, good work! :3
6:56 i actually DO FULLY agree on the tailights, in the kind of kind who preffers the side markers on the regular yellow color, like that makes more sense. That's why I love switchbacks leds so you can have the good of both worlds
ive loved the zr1 quirk and never knew people hated it, red cars with the clear tail lights is clean and see what youre saying and i now have an issue with the red on red
Fastest I’ve ever been to a bladed Angel vid, also Apollo is goated
I’d say for the red car and red tail lights thing it depends on the car. For example on older domestics the red tail lights (at least on my Charger, since it has a full wraparound rear bumper) the chrome breaks it up and plus the actual plastic housings around the lenses are painted black, so it still pops nicely even though the car is full solid bright red
For me, black housing in headlights and taillights are what make cars stand out. It gives it a late 90s/early 2000s racecar look while remaining functional. It also adds nice contrast to any color, even black, because you could have red tail lights in a black housing, like a 360 Moderna Challenge car. Or you could have a red car, with black housing, and red taillights! Clear tails are kinda like that, but the chrome housings can ruin the look for me.
I too hated red tail light for not popping at all, but also, on classics, it looks just fine.
Yesss you’re not alone with the red cars on red tail lights! I have a red MX5 and my red taillights bother me a little 😅
I feel the same about taillights. I wanted non alteza style, non red taillights for my gen one focus but could never find them and people thought I was insane. I don't feel alone now 😎
Fun Fact: The outermost pipe on 18-22 Toyota Camry dual tips is welded on and does not actually connect to the exhaust, the innermost pipe is the only functional tip
I like the 924/944's colored taillights, clear ones just look like weird headlights.
yeah im the same when it comes to red tail light almost, i remember back in underground 2 days id paint my 106 red so the tail lights didnt look out of place haha. not really heard anyone else with this issue before, now iv seen clear tail lights o.o although some look like headlights on the wrong end of the car, some actually looked nice, i still like the aftermarket red and clear tail lights for the JZX 100 tho. this is something to keep in mind for custimization for sure, thanks for sharing
For the red tail light red paint thing, I 100% agree with you
The gumpert apollo was one of the cars that got me interested in cars.
