5 Controversial Modern Cars I Like!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- These cars, whether from a design, performance, or cultural standpoint, are hated for whatever legacy they tarnished and continued on. From a disappointing Countach Remake to a boring looking Honda Civic to an electric Hypercar like Rimac's Nevera...hear my reasons why I still like these cars and actually if anything...show the manufacturer's are respecting our opinions more than disrespecting them. You know what they say. "Be Careful for what you wish for" because a lot of these cars are a direct result of what we asked from manufacturers over this past decade. So why the crooked faces at the sight of what we asked for? I for one, am happy to see what we say has an effect on the industry.
In reality, I'm just glad Fake Vents are dying off economy Cars. FFS, y'all c'mon don't act like the New Civic would look better with them back on.

169k is a "Nice" price for the new NSX

Never even realized people didn’t like the M8, I always thought it looked beautiful
Always liked it from the concept on too
I thought it was a massive improvement from the concept.
Same
the only complaint I've ever heard about the M8 is, from the side profile, it looks way too much like a mustang 350gt
It's my favourite BMW for looks, in my opinion it looks even better than the I8, though it's more sleek than supermodern
I think it’s cool that they got rid of fake vents on the civic, but i can’t decide if I actually like them or not
Yea I like the new base model. Hopefully the type r test mule spy shots aren't final though. They looked hideous.
I like they not try to be Edgy and futuristic again. A Civic design should be clean and basic ngl.
Would’ve preferred to see real vents.
One car company I like, but unfortunately doesn't have much support here in the US, is Lotus. The new Emira is awesome looking.
Aggreed
100% agree
20000000000% agree
Lotus is popular, but you don't hear anything from them. No one talks about them. Kinda sad, they look really good.
I guess not because I’m not really interested in that car market and I never see or hear about them🤷♂️
i want more modern-retro cars like the new countach
Same, it'd be nice to see what modern versions of well known classic cars would look like
Check out the Hyundai Ioniq 5, whose design is inspired by the 74' Pony
And I think it's definitely the best looking Hyundai of all time.
@@lukescipilydober8764 2002 Ford Thunderbird🤣
Tbh even if what they did to the Mustang name is reprehensible , most of the modern-retro designs from ford actually looks like the old car modernized and evolved
Especially the new Bronco
@@NicoKyunKyun the 2002 Thunderbird is beautiful, kinda overhated
The Tuatara is such a beauty of a car, it's a shame SSC lied about it.
I like to think of it as a faulty GPS setup. A very faulty GPS setup.
They were handling technology they were introduced to in like less than a week, in the weird time of Covid. Training probably sucked, you can guess that from the downfall of business over the last 2 years. And the communication with the GPS company was awful. A couple of retracted and very vague statements.
And their desperate attempt to rectify their mistakes by asking Schmee, Misha, and Robert to come along to their next run. Then said run having so many GPS systems wired that the hood popped open during the run. Engine overheating from overuse. Less than ideal conditions.
Then they finally do a run on a small runway and all they get is a measly 283mph average, barely beating the Agera RS.
And it’s a relatively small team, who has worked on a car that legitimately got a record (Ultimate Aero), which had underperformed their expectations and was short lived. They spent practically a decade developing a car with a Pininfarina designer, and now their one customer car gets into a crash.
They tried to sincerely handle the problem, and seem like a team that would stake on honesty, given their history. But now they’re getting screwed over because of faulty GPS setup during the confusion of a pandemic and everyone calling them liars, although I think it boils more so down to miscommunication
@@sehajkaler9285 i dont think its a faulty GPS, they just lied
They did break a record on the 2nd run but it was so overshadowed by the lie and everything revolving around it that it's just so funny to me. Like, they could have done the correct run 1st time but noooooooo.
@@burneracc2567 their second is 282.2 MPH, thats still far from the claimed 300+ top speed
@@yorle6527 If that was the first registered time, people would be impressed by it, even tho the company imagined the car could get over 300
I didn't like the Countach's design at first and thought some more minimalistic renders looked *a lot* better, but it really grew on me in the past month
Good job pronouncing Rimac correctly :)
I didn’t expect you to be here!
Yooo
rimcac
@@indianmonkeygohard Re-Matz
Always nice to see people take time to research proper pronunciations
Honestly, I hate when companies overly detail their cars with vents, side vents, extra fenders, spoilers and splitters.
Just look at the mess Toyota made with the mk5 supra, geez.
Seeing cars like the 400z and the Countach is a breath of fresh air. It's simple yet stylish and that's why I love their designs, merging the best of old and new.
I agree as I felt the same way about the supra but I also have to clarify the reason they have so many "fake" vents is for tuners to open up and put intercoolers in those spots. If they were like that stock they would over cool the car which also isn't good. So they can be opened up for function as necessary.
The vents on the new Supra are removable apparently
The weird part about the mk5 supra is that in real life it looks better than in online pics. I used to see that car as having an A-ok front and a good ass. Seeing 2 mk5s last month made me appreciate how low slung the car is, how curvy the hips, front end looks better irl, and that good ass looks like a great ass lmao.
@@cesarereyna7739 I think Bladed made a point on that saying that the vents should be already real. Because spending 50k on a car with fake vents is really just cheaping out, one doesn't have to take it to a tuner shop so they can be turned into real vents or whatever if they spent almost 50k on the whole car.
@@soulstalker4624front design kinda reminds me of the mc20
One controversial car that I absolutely adore is the Subaru Impreza WRX. People are used to think that they are unreliable, they blow their gaskets all the time, etc, etc, we've all heard it, in reality, they just don't like being modified by a person, who doesn't know what he is doing. My parents own a WRX for 9 years now, they drive it often and it never broke down, the only things that she needs is oil changes every once in a while and she got some rust on the back fender, but she has been running great, because the motor hasn't been touched, because my dad doesn't know how to work on them. Needless to say, WRX's are great cars if you maintain them and don't overly tune them without knowing what you are doing, but there will always be people that hate on them.
M8 have you seen how HIDEOUS the new wrx looks? It still hasn’t grown on me and I don’t think it ever will. That being said, all the other wrx, even if they were hated at the time of launch have all grown on me and have become one of my favourite cars. I also agree with you on the reliability bit, their boxer engines are not bad engines, it’s just that they way they were designed makes them a lil bit unreliable when push to the limits and they become prone to head gasket failures but I hope to own a rexy in the near future, possibly the 15’-20’ version
@@midnightpurple555 Oh, let's not talk about the new WRX. The new WRX looks like they wanted to make a Forester, but just renamed it to WRX for more attention and sales. It looks terrible, don't know about performance though.
I'll never hate subbies, it's the only boxer car I could afford.
Calling the newest WRX bad is proof that MAYBE it would be cool to have Subaru back into WRC, with a homologation special like Toyota did with GR Yaris.
Please... bring homologation specials back.
People say they are unreliable because its true. Multiple consumer sites rate the STI and WRX as unreliable. Especially the STI. Its rated as one the most unreliable vehicles in it segment along with Mini Cooper.
I loved the Last gen's Civic a lot, but the new one i also think looks great and the new Type R looks even more refined. I can appreciate both the tryhard look and the simpler, more smooth look
Oh boy, hope I see Acura NSX second gen so I'm not alone
I like the 2017 NSX honestly
I actually quite like the new Countach, only complaint being that the tail lights don't feel like they resemble the old Countach.
Just took them from the Sian
@@DAventador44 yep, and unfortunately that is the only part of Sian i don't like :) so i agree with @Shadow
@@turcaneo yup same here, don't understand why they couldn't make something different for it
The M8 is controversial? I love that thing to bits, tho that might be because it's very similar to the S550 Mustang
It reminds me of the M6 controversy. Iirc Bladed said before in a previous vid, Jeremy Clarkson Syndrome, every essentially followed with him and said its terrible. I thought it looked nice
People actually hate the new Countach? I actually find it cool too
The magic of Countach was that it was other-wordly.
A proper remake wouldn't be a retro style, it needs to be forward style. Something like the Terzo Millenio but road legal.
@@TopCarsTV Hey man, didn't expect to see you here 😄
Personally I love the design. The front reminds me a bit of the facelift Diablo which is nice.
@@Corvolet5 I like the design too. All the elements are still there, but in a modern-retro style.
What's missing is the magic the original car had when it was on sale. Countach was always one step or more above the competition. But these days, other supercars have sprouted wings and intakes too, we got desensitized to this level of "Wild", and if Countach is going to come back, it needs to blow everything out of the water.
The current one simply didn't.
Another thing. I wouldn't have minded if Ares Design did this Countach, the same way they did DeTomaso Pantera on top of Huracan. Then I would've praised the design.
But the fact that this is an original Lambo, through which they are saying - "this is the new Countach".
- Meh. Not Countach-y enough.
What i dont like on the new countach is that it is a limited overpriced remake.
The Smooth look is fully ok but the price and the fact that Lamborghini/VW acting like its a New La Ferrari makes me rolling my eyes.
I just don’t like the headlights
Something just doesn’t feel right about them
Seen the Rimac Nevera and concept 1 and they're absolutely gorgeous
all that countach needs is the iconic arrow shaped wing and rectangular wide arches and i'm set
I love how the new Civic looked too! People should keep in mind that the older Civic also looked simple. However, simple is some times all you need.
I like the new gen civic as well. And the racing version of the new civic with the splitter, wing and lowered racing suspension is just *chef's kiss*
Edit: racing as in the Touring Car spec version
@@izzdin6228 glad to see people with actual good taste
It's true I need the sound of the engine to remain in state of sanity without it it's just not the same, there's the feeling of something is missing
I have LOVED Rimacs ever since Hammond rolled one down a swiss hillside
LMAO
The problem I have with the modern Countach is that Lamborghini didn't try at all to make it special in any way. It's an Aventador with a bodykit and a 10 times higher price tag.
Yes! you understand me !!!! :)
even the desinger of the original countach said lamborghini is abour inovation and making new and stange cars not remakes
Ngl the new countach and M8 look fucking fire
How does this man nail every video so well? Also never heard of the Venturi, but I really like it
I really like the new Countach. Cars are finally starting to lose that unnecessary 'fake vents' and other "aggressive" features phase. The new Countach looks sleek, resembles the original one and remains modern looking and just outright cool. The best part is that it looks so different from the Lamborghini designs of the last few years
We need that electric car rant
I LOVE the new countach they did a perfect job updating it imo
I wish they at least added a wang for the countach
They will probably do it for like an svj version or something like that
WANG GANG
nothing on this list is really hated, especially the rimacs, i feel like they are universally liked, and the old vectors are sick
I like them because they look awesome and one big factor they are from my country making them special to me🇭🇷🇭🇷
hey bro i dont usually use this account but i just want to let you know that you are my favorite youtuber and that i recently became a car guy and you are really helping me out.
Well, it probably depends on where you live but I’ve never heard anyone criticize the M8 at all. I didn’t know it was a controversial car and I also can’t imagine that anyone could find that car ugly… actually BMWs of any kind have always been beautiful (accept maybe the i3 and iX)
Agree...i never see M8 bad let alone ugly i think Its beautiful!. Maybe what i didnt like about BMW is their confusing new design and big pig grill that still cant grown on me.
My mom actually got to see one of the latest gen nsx's in person when they first came out and it was pretty cool
Wow, this is my first video I’ve seen from this channel and it’s not often that I agree so completely on so many subjects, and for the same reasons too! Interesting.
I am so out of touch with car news that I did not even know about the new NSX Type S. It looks really nice, I cannot wait to see how it performs! I'm also glad to see you like the M6, it's part of my dream garage.
i love the way the reimagined countach, me and a lot of others dont like it because its another aventador based ultra limited eddition car from lamborghini and what we really need is something new, not lambo just milking what they got
One controversial modern car I like is the new Integra
I feel that it’s something we’ve been missing for a long time and it has all of the right ingredients to make it a great car and I’m sure it’ll be a success once it hits the road
Watching all the reviews and unveil of the new NSX, it’s getting a lot of praise surprisingly and it kinda makes me happy lol
I'm so gutted to hear your Horizon 3 video is unlisted. That video spoke to me on a really personal level, I think I was tearing up by the end of it. Horizon 3 was the game that got me into cars, I'm so thankful that I accepted it as a free bundle with my xbox back in 2016.
Also the BMW M8? Probably my favourite BMW, ever.
its always a good day when bladed post's
7:09 YES I have caught myself wondering what that car was but never searched for it, it looks totally awesome and has that lotus esprit look in the back which I love!
I’ve always loved the non BMW looking BMWs
It made me so happy that you said Rimac the correct way in fact you re the only american ive heard say Rimac correctly
I agree 100% with Bladed, I'm not a classic BMW fan but I absolutely love the BMWs that don't look like BMWs, that M8, the new M3 and M4 comp, the M5 CS. Those are nothing like the old bmws and I wish I could buy one right now. Arguably the M5 CS might be the best car ever to exist. Practical, beautiful, tons of performance, AWD, 4 doors, a ton of tech, drives great, feels great and reliable.
Very true that’s why I love the 2010s M6 it looks so different then the rest of BMW line up
On another note, thank you for pulling over for the engine and medic on that small road. Can't tell you how aggravating it is when people dont.
Also a controversial car I love even though it was from the mid to late 2000's was the gumpert apollo where it consistently broke nurburgring records and its looks being all for function
11:29 these pics of the M8 just made me fall in love with a new car
FINALLY SOMEONE REMEMBERS MY DREAM CAR!! THE VENTURI 400GT
I’m so happy that the Civic is back to looking simpler. Something that makes older civics special is how they don’t look aggressive but are great cars. Glad they’re bringing that back a little more. No more stock rice
Nice profile picture Bladed Angel. I miss ISAF. One of my favorite video games of all time.
I liked every car mentioned and haven’t heard any (personally in my circle) criticism on any of them. Good video
Finally!!!! you're the only person apart from me I know that like the old m6
The Goddamn Legend who instantly starts video without any unnecessary explanation or advertises
The NSX type S is so underrated, it looks so cool with the diffuser and the grille improvements.
A "controversial" (if whe can call it) what i like is the new supra "is a bmw" but for not having a 2jz doesnt mean what you can put a big turbo in that bmw inline6 engine like it was an 2jz a supra is a supra having a different engine or not, and even idk if this car still exist but it is a widebody old supra what didnt won a race for the 2jz, he won whit an 3sge for only being lighter, a supra is still a supra
i dont get why some people hate hennessey. We know that the copmany had bad times but if we think about it every company did
He actually said Rimac correctly. Love the vid keep it up.
The NC1 was always a controversial car since its inception. If it wasn't for its price it was the fact that it was a hybrid. If it wasn't those, it was other things.
8:22 Finaly for F sake you are first American youtuber who pronounce the name properly 👏
can you bring back all the gauges that you used to have on screen?
other then that great video.
the only youtuber that pronounces rimac right. great vid
Saw th new Countach Yesterday in real life. Looks just AWSOME! much better as on Pictures
8:25 i know this car due to the fact i love Croatia(i have been to it multiple times on vacation since im dutch and its a 1500km highway drive including the Autobahn) but i love how it came to be and now is kinda owned by Bugatti. But i love how it looks, it just looks so insanely sleek.
2 factors for me a Looks and Sound and since you can hear the sound of a electric car(the building power) and they look more sleeker(aerodynamics)
but my first car is probably gonna be a 1.8 TFSI(Hello VW AG) Seat Leon 1p(2nd gen), it just looks so nice and in comparison to a VW Golf with the same engine, the sound is different
but tbf mozilla should have stopped in 2013 although my hair colour is mostly resembled in 2019
had the same thought about the M6 due to me seeing it a lot because someone in my hometown owning one, i also found another V10 BMW, the 2005 M5 locally so that was fun
Yeah my sister has a 22 civic sport with black wheels and it’s black and it looks nice tbh
I agree that the sound of an engine is important. The amount of times I've turned down my music, rolled down the window and floored to just to hear my V8 engine roar
As for the M8, I'm more of an s class coupe kinda guy but I love the way larger coupes look imo, incredibly stately and sometimes aggressive. And the most underrated cars in my opinion are 60s audis
I’m so glad the nsx prices are dropping maybe when I get older I can actually purchase one lol
Yes finally someone said the name Rimac properly, that was so nice to hear for once from so many automotive UA-camrs
dude... I LOVE THIS CHANNEL!, im totally agree with his point of view.
I noticed that your voice sounds closer to a normal talking speed at 1.25, but at normal speed it sounds more thought out, wise, or mysterious 😂
Curious what your thoughts are on the Volkswagen e-Golf and the Audi e-tron GT are. I'd say they're the best looking electric cars....cause they look the most like a normal car lol. Starting an electric car and instantly being able to drive is something so fun to experience, and the quiet is great for listening to music. Can't lie though that hearing car sounds makes me grow more chest hair though. I absolutely agree that electric cars try way too hard to look "futuristic" and need to scream at your face "I AM ELECTRIC." Randomly started watching your content and now wanna learn more about cars, thanks for making these fun videos!
The Acura nsx type s I never knew about!
A lot of people hate the speedtail but I think it’s really nice
It's cool and I also like the coon Tosh that's one of my favorite Amber Guinness another car I like that a lot of people don't is the camryTRD
For those who haven't seen/heard of it, the NSX Type S comes with a 'anime' or sorts made by acura. It seems more or less like a track version of initial d, but in a NSX
Hey man I have been watching your Vids for a while and was Wondering what do you think of Volvo?
I’m just starting out in the car community, i just recently got my first car.2003 g35 sedan .I painted it ,put some wheels and tires on it,made it look good yk.What would you recommend for me to do next?
Bruh, thank you sooo much saying Rimac (I am Croatian and you have no idea how much it anoys me) correctly.🙏🙏
acura listened to us with the civic vents and the NSX price. I REALLY hope they listen to us about the integra.
Hey, i love the new countach. I just think it should have a 25th anniversary styled wing on it as an option, then I think it would be perfect. I always imagine the countach with its signature wing even though it came later. I think it would’ve been cool to see it on the new one as an extra.
I agree about basically everything you said. I even like the BMWs you mentioned for the same reason you do even though the 3 series went from looking awesome in their boxy years to looking, to me, like they didn't know what they wanted it to look like when the boxy years ended. The 6 and 8 series look like they got the attention they deserved in the design room but when the major design shift came for the 3 series it looked like they tried to make one of their roadsters into a sedan.
I like the new Supra.
In simulators (I don't have the money to buy every car ever, so this is my next best thing) it drives very nicely. It isn't so much the fastest car but it has the "goldilocks" handling (where it's not too oversteery or understeery). It makes a great car for people to learn the ropes of driving with, like the GR86 and AE86 before it. I'm a bit confused why people don't like it. It doesn't have a manual transmission, which I get, isn't as involving for the driver, and also doesn't make much business sense as Gordon Murray pointed out only 3 (I think, it's a single digit number anyway) of his 300 hypercars were sold in automatic, but the point in the Supra was to make a refined driving experience. If you want a pure driving experience than the GR86 is your car.
Ah, who needs to complete homework when you have Bladed?
Bro I've never seen the M8 that normal sized grill looking mighty fine
I think the Venturi looks like a MK3 Supra with a F40 bodykit, but I think it looks pretty cool. Imo, the 2006 M6's are my favorite BMWs, alongside the E36 M3. The 97' M8 is likely a close 3rd place compared to those 2. I don't see why they get so much controversy, The M6 was one of, if not the only V10 powered BMW, which makes it special, especially considering how rare V10 powered cars have been. The M8 of the late 90s was a beautiful grand tourer with some of the best pop ups around and captured that iconic 90s style.
Also what was UA-cam on when they removed your FH3 vid?
For me the headlights are like Diablo and it needs to more down like indicators
Also do a vedio on undratteed unknown tuners cars like any car with g13b and g16b they are good eingine like zen swapped with them and vrs mk1
What's ur opinion on the devel sixteen
I love it
Honestly the new Countach is a gorgeous vehicle, it’s just so elegant looking
The 2nd gen nsx is my favorite car and I personally like the new grill design on the type s
I’m guessing the new Supra is pretty high up
Looks much better than the previous gen
@@bingcringing jdm kids are not gonna like this one 😂
@@bingcringing agreed
I've always loved the M6 and the M8 since that came out they're some of my favourite BMWs
Nah man the counts have isn’t extreme enough. You said it yourself that the old countach was just over the top insanity and it should stay that way. It at least needs a couple more sharp angles, vents, and a wing
It took time for that Countach to be extreme. The early model was a muted miura basically
please make a video on electric cars/tesla and how they don't do any better than conventional cars in helping the environment, you find a lot of stuff on youtube if you need it research, btw love the videos lately.
Ngl one car I do enjoy the most that just came out is the TLX Type S, it has 3.0 V6 Turbo, but has forged internals and a beefy trans. Once the computer is cracked open I feel like they’re going to braking more than 355hp
Always love any BMW Ms, just because of how it can be a full on sports car from a luxury sedan. Personal favourite is the E60 M5. Yes it has a weird design, but I like it. Also love the V10
Hey bladed do you think that maybe you can do a classic American car video?
Hey bladed I’m getting my first muscle car in a few months I was just wondering if getting a v6 or v8 would be a good idea for someone who’s only ever drivin 4 cylinder fwd cars
In case you don't get a response,
Go with what you can afford and learn the car you choose, rwd is different than fwd. Be safe and have fun.
I like the new countach, My only complaint is that they should of done more with the back end instead of basically leaving it almost identical to the sian
I do rather like how the Venturi looks, I remember when I first saw it in a pack of Top Trumps and always thought it was interesting.
good vid
When he was talking about the Avanti-thing’s motor it cut before he said “it had a PRV engine” to an add about O’Relly Auto parts, so it sounded like: “but it had- OH OH OH O’RELLY AUTO PARTS”
