    Are you running topless and half doors for all of summer? What about the new sleeping platform you and Jeep freaks built? Are you going a different route? A new rig walk around would be really cool!

    This is a great adventure with opportunities for growth and learning.
    Jade, with trailer, appears to be rigged for “overlanding.” “Overlanding" is a fancy, butch buzzword for camping out on National Forest lands. (That ruffled some feathers.) Even in western states with lots of open space much of that space is private property with access limited by fences and locked gates. Thirty years ago I bicycled across this country-west to east. By the time I reached Colorado I realized that all of the roadways to that point had been lined with fences, and they continued to be. Fences, either real in the open spaces or implied in the cities. The farther east one travels the less likely one will be able to “overland”.

    The horn going off is so relatable. I recently replace the turnsignal and steering wheel on my yj. The other day, I was fueling up at the gas station and the new horn button randomly poped off and the horn started sounding. Scared the crap out of me. Lol

    Hey Jake if you get a chance look into industrial chicken coop flooring to replace the plywood on your roof rack. I’ve had it on mine for about a year and a half with no issues. It adds that stability to walk/sleep on and cuts down on the weight.

  • @global001
    @global001 6 років тому +2

    Why didn't you turn the trailer into a sleeping option given it gets so cold outside? Could've been insulated unlike on top in a tent.

    • @bobtailedtrucker2521
      @bobtailedtrucker2521 6 років тому

      Donald MacLean 2 part epoxy works great on plastic, jb weld everything else, would be better to sketch out the idea and convert it to aluminium bracket/tray, simple wood/metal finish for the facing, color optional on finished product. Tin could work, but not rugged enough for off road.

    I love the compass!! I used it to make the dot for the "I" in my Jeeps name.
    Moribus - Latin for adventurer (at least according to indifferentlanguages.com)
    When I designed the graphic for the hood I made the "M" out of two mountains, I made the dot on the "I" from the compass and I made the "S" out of a river.
    So my Jeeps name is based on adventure and contains all the terrain from high to low and has navigation built right in.

    Jake. I’m going to live in my 2007 Toyota Sienna AWD for 2 weeks. And if I like it and am comfortable then I will permanently live in her for a couple months. I went camping the last two days and I slept inside of her. And it was very comfortable but since I live in Belmont area of Portland Oregon. There’s a lot of crazies outside! So I am afraid when it comes to homeless people walking around my van at night I know there’s good homeless people and bad homeless people I’m just worried about the bad homeless people. Are used to work at the pantry as a cashier and I’ve seen both good and bad I’m 19 so I can’t carry a pistol or shotgun or anything. I can carry B.B. guns and air soft guns and knives. But, that’s it.

    Is it just me who is kind of sad about that new setup? This means there won´t be any trips to places where snow is a possibility. I do understand the will to change things, especially after those couple of months, but this seems like to much. I always liked the old set up, the possibility to actually sleep in your car etc. This seems like a whole new deal. It´s just my opinion, which does not matter by the way.
