    What kind of welder are you using or are you considering getting into welding/fabricating?

    • @joetuktyyuktuk8635
      @joetuktyyuktuk8635 29 днів тому

      No mention of the consumables? Does it use tips and nozzles from other brands? Or are the proprietary?

    So far I can vouch for their customer service. I accidentally ordered the wrong welder and I contacted them from the website. They called the warehouse to halt the shipment and sent an invoice so I could pay the difference. Then shipped what I intended to order.
    Excellent customer service.

    Great review, nice to see a review done by someone that actually knows how to weld and knows what the parameters of the machine actually do and how they affect the weld.
    Thinking of sizing down from a Lincoln Powermig 215, however I think I'll hold off for a while yet. The 215 is a known quantity and is in great shape and does not owe me anything.
    Thanks again for some honest input!

    I’ve had 4 multi mode Synergic welders including a Lincoln MP210 and 3 Chinese, they all performed well in MIG mode but were a disappointment in MMA (stick) mode. None were able to use the variety of rods that the ancient MILLER 250P AC/DC or MILLER ECONOTWIN 150 AC/DC are capable of.

  • @daddski1
    @daddski1 2 роки тому +1

    At home I use 4 and looking for another. I have a couple cheapies from harbor freight, a mig and a stick welder. Those were both under 200 dollars and have lasted me 11 years so far. They are 220 machines.
    I was working at industrial steel making huge structures and they use miller machines. all mig with a stick in the corner and a tig shop for making rails and stairs.
    I bought a lotus about 18 months ago for its aluminum tig abilities and love that machine. It is also stick and either 110 or 220. It does not do mig. (the foot pedal leaves a lot to be desired and recommend that be changed but the rest is great,)
    For everything and portability I have a yeswelder 205ds. It is small, light weight and very easy to throw in the truck and go weld on a site with my sine-wave generator. It does well at both 110 and 220 but 220 is better for me.
    All four have their place and do well. The yeswelder is mig, tig (not aluminum) and stick and i love it. So far I have used it for about 16 months with zero issues. (both my home lincoln AND MILLER dies in less time and cost an arm and a leg to have that circuit board replaced) Hence these 4. All cost less combined than fixing that miller.
    Anyway, I may just pick this one you are using up and eliminate three of my others. I will keep the lotus until it dies. Great machine.

    Just wondering what you meant by running vertical? When I run vertical I go up you filmed you welding and looked like you ran it downhill. that's running downhill and not really a vertical weld just the coupons where standing vertically try running vertical up

    • @BuiltForDirt
      @BuiltForDirt  Рік тому

      Vertical meaning up or down. Uphill is usually stronger than downhill and crucial for anything that needs to be strong but some times downhill is used in production welding for things that don’t need to be as strong and it can be faster.

      You did a fantastic job on the cart I'm needing one for my Miller Syncrowave 250. The guy where we bought metal from for years closed his shop to the public and only does contract work now if he hasn't got too sick to work.
      Where do you guys get your metal?
      Breathing metal dust his entire life has about got the best of him.
      I almost got a sinus infection while standing by one time watching has he turned some angles on a metal piece, did some welding and ran a flap disk over it for my dump truck interior.
      I had the sinus infection but went and flushed all that dust out of my nose with hot water and it went away as quickly as it came.

    Its a good machine but it does not make 250Amps. It makes 210 on Aluminum synergy mode only. Then on MIG steel could only get 175 to 180 not matter if in synergy or manual mode. On stick welding it was limited to 193. I mean for a home hobbiest it welds great ans is probably all you need. But 250 Amps is aspirational from my testing. Its the same machine as the Tooliom TL250. I had one right next to and did the same tests.. It behaves exactly the same way.

    Try with flux-cored wire !

  • @jamesward5721
    @jamesward5721 9 місяців тому

    Wouldn't use gas if you gave me gas free & I weld all day every day for a living. Start by running thinner flux-core wire - maybe 0.8mm or 0.9mm - get good at running that. Then start running 1mm flux core wire. If you do thin stuff like bodywork & try starting with 1mm flux core, it will do your head in - you will burn all the holes. Start with thinner wire.
    If you do "normal" stuff like pipe, tube, box iron etc etc,run 1mm from day one. It's stick welding on a roll with advantages - you can pulse weld, run tacks, run short interlocking beads & generally do waay more than rods will allow.
    Welding is weird - depending on your own skills, you may love or hate a particular machine - there are machines I hated as a beginner that I now love because they can run so hot - exactly what I disliked when I started welding. Hot machines blew holes when I was raw - it was me, not them. Now, I look for the heat. I used look for the cool.

      At a price under $300 for a 230v mig with tig and aluminum capability, disposable is fine. If you can repair it with over the counter parts it's easier to buy a new one and keep the old one around for parts. We're in a disposable world. Not saying I agree with it, but I understand it.

      @@fo4imtippin Sorry to hear that man... So one thing I tried (which may have done nothing, but what did I have to lose) was add a washer to try and improve the ground connection internally to the circuit board. There is an insulator card and a lot of painted surfaces there. I know the screw probably is supposed to ground everything but there seemed to be soldered grounding points on the surface of the board that should be touching metal and they really weren't. Anyways added a small washer between circuit board and insulation card and resecured. Jiggled the wires and it's working again. Works well, but now I'm still gonna always have the worry this will let me down in the middle of a project and I'll be stuck again. Time will tell. This last incident I've probably wasted 12 hours on researching new welders, trying to learn to braze, and email/calls to Yeswelder.
      Before your warranty expires I'd def put it through it's paces... I think the duty cycles they claim are likely very overinflated. The commission for these affiliate reviews and links is 10% for you/10% for the affiliate, and likely an additional 15% off using another code like Yesfam15. That's 25% off and they still have their profit margin. That should tell you the unit price they pay for these. Looked into these welders and they can be ordered from Keygree with custom logos and unit cost for 100 looks to be 150 bucks.
