Thank you for the comparisons. Would you recommend the Hynade brand for a hobbyist? I’m currently interested and I’m up in the air between a Hynade MTG 175 SG and a Yeswelder 135. Just looking to see if you recommend either brand for a novice?
I wanted a flux and stick combo as a back up for my gas machine. I went ahead and bought the Hynade 165 HG. I watch your videos and have learned a lot from you. Straight up and no bs. Please keep making videos brother.
After watching this video, I bought the Hynade MIG 140 welder. Put it together today and played around with it on some mid steel. What a fun little welder! Welds nice, quiet, and pretty decent quality for the cost. Thank you for making this video and bringing this brand to my attention.

Great video! I was a welder for about 10 years…. that was 25 years ago!😂 I had the lower control arm bracket (which is welded directly to the frame) break on my Chevy Colorado. I’ve been wanting to buy a welder for many years to do miscellaneous home projects. Your video was a great refresher and it gave me a good idea on which machine to buy! I’m now your newest subscriber! Thanks again brother!
Hey Mike thanks for the video my future son in law just bought the titanium 125 for 103 bucks as an open box so he brought it up to me and we done some welding to make sure it worked good and its a really nice little unit. I will be sure to show him this video. And I have already told him to sub to your channel because I feel you put out some Phenomenal content. Thank you as always and hope you have a great day.
Man That’s a great deal he got on that open box sale! I bought mine 3 years ago for $169. I have seen a few open box Titanium 125 welders at HF and I always tell my friends when I see them 👍 I have found some really good deals on open box sales at HF! Thanks and have a great weekend Brad 🙂
Another great video. It’s also good timing. There are usually a ton of those Titanium welders on deep discount during HF sales like Black Friday. They seem to be returned a lot because people have a tough time learning gasless.

Your video in 2019 is what sold me on the Titanium machine. That has been my go to machine for most projects these days; I can run it off my generator no problem and fix stuff. I've since swapped out the ground clamp and have been running Lincoln wire in it. I was lucky enough to catch a parking lot sale for mine for $150, probably the best $150 I've spent
Thank you for an excellent video. When you tripped a breaker on two different occasions that sold me on having a dual voltage machine. Every time you handled that roll of Forney wire it made memories surface of my first welder. A Fourney that weighed some ridiculous amount. There were numerous plug in places on the front to select the amperage and low or high voltage. It was given to me after being scorched in a fire, but still worked like a charm. That was 50 years ago.
I bought the Flameweld Mig145FX based on your video featuring the Hynade that looks exactly the same. I work mostly with 22 guage automotive sheet metal, so the setup was a little tricky because of the single knob. I landed at 70 amps, with the bottom button setting at minus 20. It had me worried at first because the lowest Amp setting of 50 was instantly blowing holes in the 22 guage. The instructions are useless, so I'm glad tinkering with the settings found the zone

The Hynade looks like a nice little unit. Having a portable welder might be something I need in my tool mix at some point. Thanks for posting this review Mike.
Thank you for your video. I own a 180 Mig welder but when I saw this video I got attracted to the Hynade 140D and purchased one. Have to tell you, it is one of my favorite buy's. So easy to use on small jobs. No tank to drag around and the Synergic function makes it a dream to use. Keep it on my work truck with the rest of my tools so I could use it anywhere. Thanks again.
I have always wanted to learn how to weld but thought it was out of reach. You have made me rethink that. Great review! I can see one of these flux welders in my future!
Welding is an awesome skill to learn, I think you will really enjoy welding. Years ago I always wanted a welder but it was way out of reach for me when I was a kid. Now welding is something that is adorable and possible for almost anyone to do. Take care 🙂👍
Thanks for your time and the videos you make. I'm retired and like to weld some and have learned lots from you. I like any build videos you make but like the 4 wheelers and motorcycle vids better/ Thanks for all you do
Thank you for this video. It's been 30 years since I welded and was looking to get back to it for DIY Christmas decorations. I purchased the Hynade and it is very simple to use. Still need practice, but was able to get started quickly. Thanks again!
Thinks for the video, Mike! I’ve only owned a stick welder (yes, classic Lincoln tombstone) but I’ve used a MiG with good results. Always was concerned about spatter from the flux core wire welders. I know the first ones I saw really seemed to make rough looking welds. I think you videos have changed my mind on that. I’m setting up a new shop and will probably add a flux core welder there to fill the gap between the old Lincoln stick and the Tig.
Hey Ralph those old Lincoln tombstone welders last forever! That’s the first welder I learned on when I was 15 years old 👍 my problem was back then all my projects were on thin metal and I had a hard time welding stuff like bicycle frames and sheet metals. Once I bought my first Harbor Freight ( AC transformer) flux welder I was able to weld those projects with ease, but yes the spatter was awful on that old welder, it was one of there really old Chicago electric ones. It was really low quality but surprisingly it’s still working to this day( I gave it to a friend years ago) I think you would find a small DC inverter flux welder will really round out your welding needs 👍🙂
This is exactly the helpful video I needed! Amazon has the Yeswelder 135 on for like $89 right now, and it’s REALLY tempting to pick up to start learning how to weld.
Definitely amazing how affordable welding has become! It definitely will get you into welding, they probably will be a stepping stone welder, meaning you probably will upgrade in a few years to a bigger machine once you realize you enjoy it enough. Welding is a great skill to know. 😊
Some of us, well maybe just myself live like hermits. Anyway, that being said I always feel at home and welcome when not just simply watching but learning from your vast knowledge and skill set.
Haven't welded in decades and needed to do some touch up on lawnmower, and bikes etc. ... the Hynade seems to be the one thus for me ... great video work, thanks!
Thought you looked familiar when you mentioned mini bike videos I’ve been watching your mini bike videos and just started looking into a little welder to build up my mini bike and I find this. Awesome video!
Thanks Jimmy for checking out my videos 👍🙂 I have some videos in the description that covers a lot of tips when starting to learn about welding. I definitely recommend finding the right welder that fits your needs and start welding, it’s a great skill to know 🙂
Thanks for the review. Im going to welding school and want to make some project without braking the bank and i find this video very good with the penetration view for all the welder. Nice work man!!
Great video!!! I have the titanium 125 for a few years and have found in some applications you can weld 3/8 inch effectively with good penatration, not saying I would recommend it on a daily basis but for a little welder it does a fair burn on heavier metal. But did find valcun wire and Lincoln wire works best. Harbor freight Flux does work as planned.
@@Mikefestiva absolute pleasure being a long time subscriber you have very detailed and interesting videos . Are you planning on building any snow plows for the pin or perhaps your little trucks that would be a awesome video to see . Thanks you once again
I had the titanium and she puts in some work love keeping it in my Jeep as a back up welder, but I now have the titanium unlimited running on 240 V and she kicks too, runs mig well with pre and post flow burns stick true to the amp readings on screen only complaint is the leads are 10Ft if you go to a bigger titanium I would recommend 15ft leads or extension cords for 240v but overall I’m happy with my harbor freight welder
Awesome video. I'm eyeballing a Hynade 110/220v MTS155 FX Mig Welder. Thanks for this video! If I pick it up, you can burrow it and make a video :P. thanks Mike!
I’ve been looking into purchasing the Hynade or Yeswelder brands and I’m up in the air. Just a hobbyist and would appreciate it if you could shine some light on your honest opinion between the 2 brands. Thank you and I really enjoyed the content.
Mike , I currently run the old Harbor Freight flux core welders on 20 amp breaker with 10 gauge wire to welder. I have no problems tripping the breaker. If run on a 15 amp breaker off a drop cord the breaker trips easily and lower amps come to the welder. Your wire from breaker to outlet could be too small. should be at no12. Preferably no10.
Hi, first time viewer as well as exploring welding...thanks for a great video as well as the time you took to make it. I appreciate the effort and the knowledge.
I thought that the Hyanyd did the best, I have a Telwin 100 but it is gass and gasless and now 25 to 30 year's old but it was only $ 300 then, thanks for the comparison, all the best to you and your loved ones
👍👍🇨🇦✌️👍✌️🇨🇦 Great work Mike , I ordered the Hynade Mig 140 One day delivery on Amazon Pops is getting it for a surprise Christmas gift 😉 Can’t wait !!!
Thanks for the reviews bud they really help a ton when you don't got a lot of money and want to make smart investments in equipment. I would like to see some reviews on budget Welding Hoods, I have a $68 Eastwood hood and couldn't be happier with it. I think they are good products more folks should know about.
Yes those are great little welders! I was so impressed with them when they came out about 4 years ago. I gave mine to my brother, we have one at my work for simple weld repairs when we don’t want to drag around a tank and bigger MIG welder.
Great content my man, and we DO appreciate you as you were discussing at the 15 ish mark! I just bought the yeswelder, hope I enjoy it - it will be my first time welding. Also, I just subed to your channel :)
I watched a welding test for an on the job position at a US TVA steam plant starting with 2 pads 3"x3" 1/4 in thick and they had to build an ark from one to the other and it had to withstand a certain amount of crush force. I watched many men do the walk of shame from the results area lol.
You've done it again, Thanx. I'm new to welding, or I should say this type of welding, I pushed some Oxy/Ace puddles around around 20 years ago.still have my torches, but in the long run I think this would be easier, more convenient and cheaper, I want to do some stuff around the ranch. think I'll get the Hynade and some forney 42300. Thanx again.
Mike, you might do an episode on welding light metals like auto body, and use an aluminum or copper backer plate to draw out the heat and also to hold the metal flat.
I have a YesWelder Flux 135. Though mine is I guess older now, naturally they updated it to have all those features after I bought it (adding the stick and TIG). I'd say its setup more like the Titanium, two knobs, a button to flip between .030, and .035, and flux core only. Ground clamp is exactly the same as that YesWelder though. I have noticed with mine though seems like it runs hot, I've tried to weld thinner metals and just about blown through it even on the lowest settings.
Over the years I have owned Kemppi 3phase Migs that were 5k or more each (several), jazzy Mosa diesel towable welders that were eye-watering, spent hundreds (probably thousands) of hours running torches The last few years I only run 2 small sub 700.00 Migs - a Sip & a Sealey plus a sub 200.00 flux core (don't know what make, but boggo) - those 3 ickle welders make me a better living than the big machines used do - all 3 get an absolute spanking day in and day out. They are not used for "hobby" stuff - they are expected to earn their keep. Which they do, just fine. You don't need fancy gear to make a living welding. One of these ^^ will get you a very long way. :-) "Gas" is expensive as frig here btw - it runs €120 to €150 for a hobby size rent-free bottle you have another €120 into as the deposit on the bottle - renting bottles is even more eye-watering. I have 5 bottles at any one time, they don't last too long & it soon adds up to not beer money over the course of a year. So Flux-core has that huge advantage right off the bat - No Gas required.
Hey Mike I hope you and your family had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. I have a ThermalArc 130 GTS stick-tig for welding aircraft tubing and light stick work and a Miller 210 mig as my personal equipment. I've been looking at picking up a small fluxcore unit as a quick and easy portable wirefeed for spot repairs so your video is timely. Over my professional welding career I've used some of the best welding equipment on the market as well as some of the shadiest... they all got the job done most of the time.
Thanks for checking out my new video 🙂 I definitely will always keep a small flux welder around for those simple repairs especially if you are helping a friend fix something at there house, these welders are so small and portable. I appreciate reading your comment 👍 Hopefully this video helps 🙂
Mike you got me hooked on a 2020 valcan omnipro 220 multi process welder love it no joke been a great welder thank you sir and NOT SPONSORED TO ANYTHING BOUGHT WITH MY OWN PERSONAL MONEY 💰 just saying and worth the money when you got it
All I'm saying is during COVID I went ahead and bought one just haven't had the solid core wire or the gas yet 75%aerogon and 25% carbon dioxide gas to it but planning to make plans to get a big bottle of it coming soon
Good solid video, Mike. That Hynade looks like the GOTO of those 3. I've been seeing nice reviews of the cheapie Simder Mig 140. Have you used one or reviewed it?
The Titanium is on sale this week so been doing some research. The Hynade was not even on my radar but it looks like it may be a better option. Thanks for the video.
Mike. I love your welder videos. Thank you. A while back you mentioned you would make a review of the Yeswelder 250P ACDC Tig. Are you still planning to make a review of this?
Thanks for the video Mike. Well done. Lots of meat on the bone here. I've got my first welding project ahead of me and I will take your recommendation on the Hynade unit.
Thanks for this video, Mike. Would love to see a similar video for each process and/or price points! I've got the Chicago Electric 125, and I think I'm going to swap for the Titanium 125., buttttt Maybe it's worth spending twice the money (or more?) and get a gas bottle?
Great content man! Some questions I have main one is, What budget goggles are the safest for ones eyes. And Should I get a multi welder or flux welder?
Thank you for this and all the videos you’ve made that include the Hynade 140D. I purchased it mostly based on your review and you’re review of the Flux wire test. I am a weekend welder fixing small things around the house and helping family (mostly for practice!). I replaced my stock plug wire for 12 guage so I can use 220V outlets. Any recommendations for using 220? Settings? Max Metal thickness? I plan on building a 100 gallon propane tank BBQ pit this Fall / Winter. Thank you for your videos! And I’ve watched most of them! Lol.
I see that the Hynade 155 looks to be just like the 140 but has the stick welder option for about the same price as the other 2 welders, may be something that would have the edge over the others
Can you please do a full review on the hynade. I have the titanium flux125 but if the hynade is an upgrade then I’d definitely be down for that. Just need more info on that machine
Awesome vid mike! I have been following forever and i think im finally gonna make the jump and get one!! Im going between the titanium and the hynade. As a total complete newbie i was kind of leaning towards the titanium. My question is, do you think the current titanium is still good? I have been told in the past that harbor freight value engineer their products as time goes on and they get cheaper. I was told if you buy them early on you can get a great tool. That is the only thing im nervous about. The acid etching is pretty sweet but its nice to see how they actually work. Thanks for the help and im lookin forward to the next one 🍻
Thanks Joe for checking out my new video! I have always figured it was the other way around for HF, I commonly will buy there first round of products, welders and other tools when they first come out. I’m pretty sure as some of those products get returned over time from defects they look into the problems and I have assumed if it’s a big enough problem they remedy the issue. I have heard there’s a place in California where the defective and returned items go for this. I still feel like the Titanium is probably a good little welder and is worth buying. I will let you know first hand if your thoughts on that are true? I just decided to buy the Omnipro 220 from HF on the recent sale, I owned this welder about 4 plus years ago, I had always liked the quality of it. I do know over time HF will cut out extras they had come in the box in earlier models like welding wire or extra consumables like welding tips. Take care Joe 🙂👍
Usually .035 would be used on thicker metals, keep in mind there’s a big difference between solid and flux wire, the flux is hollow with flux inside. This means it takes more wire to fill the joint with flux wire compared to solid wire used with MIG welding with shielding gas. I had always used .35 flux in the past but had changed to .30 awhile back because that was all that was available when buying at a local store. I found the .30 welds pretty well especially for thinner metal and cold starts. You can still run .30 wire to weld 3/16 so I’m sticking with .30 for my welding needs. 🙂👍 Hope this helps.
Out of curiosity, have you thrown a amp checker on while welding? My yes welder (stick, and lift tig) seems to run really cold. It struggled to run 6013, and 6011 (all rods are 3/32). I had the same issues your having with your breaker. If i turned it up to 90ish, it would pop the breaker. It seemed to run a little better with the 7018 rods. My Titanium 125 flux, runs like beast, no issues. Ive built a welding cart/table, and welded 2 exhaust on cars with it, no issues. I would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a cheap portable welder, or someone looking to learn how to weld. Thanks for the video man!

It was really low quality but surprisingly it’s still working to this day( I gave it to a friend years ago)
I think you would find a small DC inverter flux welder will really round out your welding needs 👍🙂
Mine is on the way today!👍
My unicycle is gonna be awesome!
Haha 😂 you are the only person to notice that 👍
I enjoyed this comparison between these welders. And it was worth the time for you to cut and polish and acid etch. Thanks
Thanks for checking out my new video Bob 🙂👍
Yes thanks for the video mike
Thanks buddy! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving 🙂👍
Also thanks for being a long time subscriber 😊
@@Mikefestiva absolute pleasure being a long time subscriber you have very detailed and interesting videos . Are you planning on building any snow plows for the pin or perhaps your little trucks that would be a awesome video to see . Thanks you once again
Thanks for taking the time to share this. I for one really appreciate it. I'm looking to buy a flux machine and this really helped.
Great information for us who are about to jump into the welding pool - on a budget. Thanks!
Awesome review Mike!!!
Why does it not surprise me that some would think they could get flashburns from a video🤷♂️🤣. VERY NICE WELDS Mike 👍👍
Thanks for checking out my new video!
Haha 😂 I have had that comment so many times figured it was time I mentioned it is a video.
Thanks for checking out my new video Donald! I also like the Hynade, it’s very simple and welds really well. 🙂
👍👍🇨🇦✌️👍✌️🇨🇦 Great work Mike , I ordered the Hynade Mig 140
One day delivery on Amazon
Pops is getting it for a surprise Christmas gift 😉
Can’t wait !!!
Right on! I think he will like it 🙂
Any updates on how he liked it Brian?
Thanks for the reviews bud they really help a ton when you don't got a lot of money and want to make smart investments in equipment. I would like to see some reviews on budget Welding Hoods, I have a $68 Eastwood hood and couldn't be happier with it. I think they are good products more folks should know about.
Right on Christian!
Thanks for checking out my videos 👍
I will definitely consider your video suggestion.
Thanks for the time and effort. This information really helped me with the decision on which to purchase. Great stuff!
I have the titanium 125 from Harbor Freight and I absolutely love it can't go wrong Bob Elkhart
Thanks man 👍 have fun learning to weld, it’s a fantastic skill to know 😊
I watched a welding test for an on the job position at a US TVA steam plant starting with 2 pads 3"x3" 1/4 in thick and they had to build an ark from one to the other and it had to withstand a certain amount of crush force.
Can you weld light gauge metal like 16ga, with the hynade welder? Is 50 amps the lowest setting?
Tnx Mike , hope you had a lovely thanksgiving.
That Forney wire is damn near unobtainium here btw - it's "Out of Stock, unavailable" everywhere you look. :-(
Hey Mike I hope you and your family had an enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Hi buddy thank you soo much this was an awesome video. Man I love you channel!!!!
Thanks for checking out my new video! I hope this video was helpful 🙂👍
Good solid video, Mike. That Hynade looks like the GOTO of those 3. I've been seeing nice reviews of the cheapie Simder Mig 140. Have you used one or reviewed it?
Thanks for putting this video up it was very helpful ! I’ve been leaning towards getting the titanium but I think I’m going to get the hynade instead
Thanks Mike for this wonderful content
fantastic instruction for beginner like me. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
The Titanium is on sale this week so been doing some research. The Hynade was not even on my radar but it looks like it may be a better option. Thanks for the video.
Both welders work great, I don’t think you can go wrong with either one 👍
Awesome comparison. Thanks!
Hello I would like to see a review of Eastwood mig 90 and Lincoln 90i mig and flux. Thanks
Mike. I love your welder videos. Thank you.
A while back you mentioned you would make a review of the Yeswelder 250P ACDC Tig. Are you still planning to make a review of this?
I subscribed when you first started the 6x6 and never got a notification for your videos
Thanks for subscribing and i’m not sure why they won’t notify everyone
Thanks for the video Mike. Well done. Lots of meat on the bone here. I've got my first welding project ahead of me and I will take your recommendation on the Hynade unit.
new to the channel, just got to say ur a cool guy, and a great teacher
Thanks man! I really appreciate it 🙂👍
Would love to see a video/series on welding safety gear
Great vid Mike for me as I'm looking for a welder for thinner metal.
I haven't been getting notifications either, with all selected on the bell.
Thanks for this video, Mike. Would love to see a similar video for each process and/or price points! I've got the Chicago Electric 125, and I think I'm going to swap for the Titanium 125., buttttt Maybe it's worth spending twice the money (or more?) and get a gas bottle?
great content and delivery. Thank you for the information it helped me make a decision
Great content man! Some questions I have main one is, What budget goggles are the safest for ones eyes. And Should I get a multi welder or flux welder?
Great review Mike
Thank you for this and all the videos you’ve made that include the Hynade 140D. I purchased it mostly based on your review and you’re review of the Flux wire test. I am a weekend welder fixing small things around the house and helping family (mostly for practice!). I replaced my stock plug wire for 12 guage so I can use 220V outlets. Any recommendations for using 220? Settings? Max Metal thickness? I plan on building a 100 gallon propane tank BBQ pit this Fall / Winter.
Thank you for your videos! And I’ve watched most of them! Lol.
Nice and informative video Mike. FYI, I do get your notifications. Thanks.
Happy turkey day to you, and your family. Great video very beneficial thanks Mike 😊
Thanks Allan! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family 🙂👍
It’s not an upgrade, they are basically the same.
Super informative!
Thanks Tom! 🙂👍
Excellent! Thank you.
Thank you...i just find your channel and is very helpful
Great review. Thank you. I’d like to something like this on budget mig welders.
Can’t go wrong with the YesWelder line. Their hoods are great too.
Mike, what's the difference between 030 and 035 wire? When is it important to use the larger 035 wire? Thanks.
Hope this helps.
Have you ever open Hynade to see if you reverse internal lead to make gun + for stainless?
Makes me think I could maybe give another chance to gasless welding with a newer machine, I have an old one I cant seem to make it work
On A scale from 1-10 how good is the 140d for unicycle repairs? (Asking for A friend)
Haha 😂 I would say it’s an 8 in the hands of a skilled welder/unicyclist. 😊👍
Hello Mike. I am a long time fan. Quick Question. I want to buy a TIG to weld a few Aluminum gates for my farm, do you have a suggestion for a beginner TIG welder.
