LOVE Eucerin eczema relief and I don't have eczema. I use it on my face to reduce redness from post acne marks. It works really well everywhere and absorbs pretty quickly considering how thick it is. :)
I've been using the Vanicream SPF30 facial moisturizer for several months and love it. It's hydrating and makes a good makeup primer. For me the cast is minimal as it sheers out when blending. It's also the most comfortable mineral sunscreen I've used in a long time. Vanicream's broad spectrum SPF50 has a much more noticeable white cast.
I got an email from Vanicream a couple weeks ago about their lip sunscreen because it’s my absolute favorite and they said it’s being reformulated because of product issues. I’m 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 it’s going to be close to the original.
Hi @Dr. Dray. I wanted to thank you for pointing out some bad ingredients in a previous video you made while shopping at Target. You picked up one of the body washes I happened to have been using for a while (Up and Up brand Shea Butter and Oatmeal Body Wash) and point to two problematic ingredients in them. I mean, I have literally been using it for YEARS. This is important because I have been fighting what I thought were some pretty awful eczema flare ups. As soon as I saw your video, I threw out my body wash and bought the Aveeno Skin Relief body wash instead. As soon as I started using it, my current flare up stopped dead in its tracks! I had no idea I was having an allergic reaction this whole time! Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart. This winter has been so painful for me until now and I feel like I finally have a handle on this.
Dr Dray! I’m so grateful that you mentioned that if you have sensitive skin and find that some products burn when you apply to wet skin - to try drying the skin and applying to dry skin. It probably sounds obvious. But I’ve always heard to moisturize your damp skin after you cleanse. It never occurred to me to try it on dry skin. Because honestly lately I’ve had so many problems with “gentle” “calming” etc products burning my face when I apply them. I tried that Aveeno oat gel moisturizer last month and it burned! I thought I was losing my mind. Now that you’ve mentioned this, I feel like my skin is just too sensitive when it’s damp. And I think the winter weather isn’t helping!
Thank you for reviewing the neutrogena tinted mineral sunscreen recently. I love it!! It’s not drying, and I use it over the UV white gel sunscreen for a nice tinted moisturizer effect.
Happy Monday, Doc! I have to say, the Gold Bond Pure Moisturizer is one of my faves, along with the La Roche Posay Lipikar Lotion. I use both of them on my body AND face...such a timesaver! 😃
@Dr Dray What sunscreens do you recommend for someone using tretion and sits well with makeup. I have had no problems with tretion so not sure if I should use a chemical or mineral sunscreen

I used stretch mark cream from 6 weeks on when I was pregnant the first time. Put it on after my shower in the morning and again at night before bed. I had stretch marks that went horizontally, vertically and diagonally. My first son was 11lbs 3 oz. My skin was stretch so bad it hurt. They shouldn't be able to say their stuff stops stretch marks.
There's a Dollar Tree body wash with ceramides and oatmeal. I think it's called Aquation? Would love to hear your thoughts on it on your next Dollar Tree trip, Dr Dray
@@DrDrayzday Aquation also makes an unscented shampoo/conditioner which leaves my hair very soft. It has ceramides and oatmeal. It isn’t sudsy, so it takes getting used to, but it’s super cheap at Walmart. Finding an unscented shampoo is rare!

I use the big cerave cream tub on my face and body right after a shower at night (learned that tip from you) and the gold bond lotion in my purse for my hands throughout the day. Love your videos.
I love the neutrogena ultra gentle moisturizer with niacinamide. Would recommend, it's like the Hydroboost gel but in a more manageable container and cheaper. The niacinamide has helped me slowly fade acne scars i think.
Oh wow I actually just purchased the Eucerin Eczema Relief cream the other day at CVS and personally speaking I actually prefer the texture of the cream as well as the feel of it on my face/body in comparison to the CeraVe Body moisturizing cream.
I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost after the shower while still damp. My husband does too. He is better about it then I am. Felt his skin one day and said “damn” lol. I’ve been doing it now for a week and i see and feel such a difference
I also do it with the Hydroboost and do it with a fragrance free body lotion as well. If you are consistent, it really makes a difference applying it to damp skin. Just find something to do in the bathroom while it absorbs...fold towels, wipe down mirrors,.clean hair brushes etc. Although, you will find you don't use so many towels if you do this! 👱♀️❤
It is my favorite body moisturizer. I love how quickly it dries and my skin is silky smooth. I even had a lady at a wedding start rubbing my leg (she was tipsy) and she said “omg these are the softest legs I have ever felt. How do you get them like this?” 🤣🤣
Lubriderm Cream in the tub! I have mild to moderate ichthyosis and it's working well, fragrance free, and COMFORTABLE (cooling). Reasonably priced too. Now to find the right cleanser.
The gold bond pure is fab and I would have never thought to use it on my face. So grateful for your channel! I have experienced the burn from the other product but I do not experience that from the pure. I do have rosacea.
I love that Clean & Clear 10% benzoyl peroxide spot treatment, have been using it for years! I'm lucky to have fairly clear skin without much effort, but it is sensitive to sunscreen/makeup/oil if I don't religiously cleanse at night or touch my face too much during the day, so the acne that I get is mainly individual spots on my chin. If I catch it early enough with the spot treatment, the pimple will shrivel up before it really gets going.
I picked up the Gold Bond Pure Moisture- at first I thought it seemed thin, but I wake up and my skin looks and feels amazing. I do layer it over an oil. Thank you so much for the great reccomendation!
I love these shop with me videos so much. I wouldn't be able to find affordable skin care without them so I thank you for that. I love the Aveeno Calm and Restore line. I use the gel cream as an eye cream (doesn't burn or sting) as well as all over my face. It doesn't aggravate my sensitive, acne prone skin at all. I probably would have never tried it if you hadn't recommended it so I thank you for that too! Happy Monday, Dr Dray!! I hope you have a cozy evening. 💙
Hi Mary!! I Hope Your Day was a Fabous One, and that Your Evening is Going Marvelous!! Sweet Dreams!! Nighty Night!! God Bless You Always my Sweet Friend!! 🙏💤💕❤💤🙏
I’ve tried both gold bond pure moisture and CeraVe and found they both stung me! Not exactly sure why either, but they did temporarily sting my skin until they completely dried and set. My current fave, Vanicream moisturizing cream, doesn’t sting my skin at all. Vaseline intensive care lotion also didn’t sting my skin.
I love Vanicream everything. CeraVe stings my skin and Gold Bond is just meh to me. Vanicream is also the only facial moisturizer my daughters face can tolerate. Great line!
Love the Gold Bond Pure -- thanks for turning me on to it. It's much better on my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin than any of the CeraVe moisturizers, which I used to love, but started to sting as the winter dryness kicked in.
I use an azelaic acid moisturizer that if applied to damp skin STINGS very badly! So I wait for my skin to dry before I apply it and don’t experience any irritation that way 👍 but normal moisturizers I apply to damp skin without issue and I really love that gold bond one. I have also really enjoyed the Neutrogena soothing milky cleanser! It has a bit of an odd scent but it’s not a dealbreaker. I’ve been using that Neutrogena spot treatment for weeks now and I gotta say that It hasn’t been very effective.
I know one derm who uses prescription azelaic acid and has sensitive skin so her recommendation was to put the serum in the refrigerator and apply it cold to minimize the irritation.
@@db-gb5xi yes, I know that trick but It’s only irritating if my skin is damp. I’ve been using azelaic acid for several years now.. so I’m not a newbie :)
Hi Jackie! Happy Monday!! How was your day? I hope it was a good one. It's really windy here which makes it feel a lot colder than the 43 degrees it was when I left work tonight. Enjoy your evening and stay warm and cozy. ☕🐈Peace, blessings and joy to you, my sweet friend. ❤🕊❤🙏❤
I thought I wouldn't have any skincare to pick up when visiting my family in the US in May but that Gold Bond Moisturizer is now calling my name! Thanks for the info.
Usually when you mention a skin product I used in my teens and early 20’s, it’s a big fat NO 😂 so it was nice to see my clean and clear spot treatment I SWORE by being recommended by you haha
Yep, love the texture of Cerave lotion and PM, but if my skin is too damp or irritated, it burns pretty badly and I have to just rinse it off, and go straight to Vaseline. LRP double repair and Vanicream daily have been good replacements, but a little stickier and prone to pulling.
I noticed that the Vaseline Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer is on clearance. I love this. It does have fragrance but it is very moisturizing. Discovered this during the height of Covid and still use it. All other hand sanitizers seemed to dry my hands too much and cause rashes
Love the quick mythbuster about stretch marks you slipped in there! I believed the lie my first two pregnancies and spent way too much time rubbing goop on my bump. 😅 These videos are always so informative. Thank you!
I love aquaphors sunscreen lip balms. However, my absolute favorite is from Ultrasun SPF50. I also love the gold bond moisturizer. One of my faves for sure. The Aveeno exfoliator cleanser doesn’t have feverfew! Woohoo one of the only products in that line doesn’t contain that ingredient, which I am allergic to.
The AVEENO Calm & Restore Nourishing PHA Facial Exfoliator irritated my skin. I was surprised as I haven;t had issues with other Calm & Restore products, nor do I have problems with glycolic acid products.
The cetaphil hydrating foam cleanser has become my new favorite cleanser. I will definitely repurchase. I have dry, acne prone skin and it has done wonders for my face. I use it at nighttime before using differin
I found the Bare Republic Gel-Lotion SPF 30 at Walgreens on clearance a few summers ago. Slight greenish-tint, some "fresh" scent. Felt nice going on, but dried down to a bit of a powder finish which would sometimes get into the creases of my arm. Looked fine in-doors, but outside, I wasn't a big fan.
I have mild burning sensation when using the Cerave but ONLY on the side of my nose where the crease is between my face and nose. But I get burning in that spot with nearly every product that I use.
you might have some skin barrier issue (like from blowing your nose), that's where I get some irritation sometimes b/c I've rubbed the skin raw with Kleenex
Thanks for this thorough review of drugstore product, Dr Dray! I’ll try the Cetaphil moisturizing spf 50 lotion and the Laroche-posey Triple moisturizer. Darn, I just passed that by in CVS few days ago. Thanks and have a great day!
Ha. I love starting this at the end of my skincare routine and you mention the moisturizer I'm using: Up & Up Moisturizing Cream. I use the one intended for the body. It's a better bang for your buck and lasts a long time if you're exclusively using it for the face. I also have the Aquaphor Lip Repair Stick. I plop some Vaseline on at the end. Simply, glossy, and moisturizing💗
I use that Neutrogena face hydrator everyday. Love it! I have Oily/combo skin, but I find it is still moisturizing. Perfect for under sunscreen and layering serums.
Happy Monday! Also, I really had a good chuckle over your weekend blog comment about the books attached to our clothing! My family thinks it is funny when I am watching something by myself and then start laughing aloud!
I tried that Gold Bond pure moisturizer and I like it, although it's not as moisturizing as what I prefer for my dry skin in the winter. Will probably be a summer fav though!
I absolutely love the Gold Bond pure moisture lotion. The urea really helped with my breakouts on both my body and face, it doesn't burn my face, and it doesn't look or feel greasy or heavy. It doesn't aggravate my roscea, either. Combined with The Ordinary azelaic acid or Peach Slices snail moisturizer, my face has been looking great. I hope they never stop makng it.
La Roche-Posay is cheaper at CVS stores. I use the app for coupons and extra bucks to buy the products I use. We have to get our medications from CVS pharm. and get extra bucks on our care card.
Yes! There are often store coupons and manufacturers coupons through extracare and I get 40% off coupons a few times a month as well. Cvs regular pricing isn't great but with the coupons I've gotten some really great deals.
Love this Dr Dray ! Over on TikTok they would be having a cow over the petrolatum and other “chemicals” 🤣 I tagged you in a TikTok where a man is claiming we don’t need sunscreen and the sun does not cause skin cancer but genetics and lotions do. 🤪 Some people are too crazy.
i love that Undefined Beauty R&R sun serum. And the form factor of that bottle is perfect. it’s replaced my DRMtLGY tinted sunscreen but i miss the “pool floatie” smell :)
I tried the Bare Republic gel sunscreen on my body a few years ago, but couldn’t use it because the fragrance was pretty strong and triggered headaches. I bought the face and body versions at the same time and they were very similar. I loved the light texture, and the scent was nice (kinda fruity), just too strong for me. It never made it to my face so I can’t speak for that. This was awhile ago though, so maybe they reformulated.
It’s funny you said about the la Roche posay product having fragrance in , as I had ordered the lipikar shower gel and it arrived earlier on today , I thought it can be used on babies and just assumed it would be fragrance free. Nope wrong , when I checked the back of the bottle there it was straight up parfum. Not low on the list either smack bang in the middle . ‘‘Twas disappointing , used it tonight and it’s gentle enough but nothing to write home about , I personally prefer the bioderma shower oil cleanser. This happened to me twice this week actually I assumed sanex original was fragrance free and was wrong thats why I ordered the lipikar … yeeep I won’t be assuming anything else I’m putting on my skin from now on 😂
I love moisturizers! I have tried so many and love finding new ones but last year I found the Aveeno eczema therapy lotion and it’s amazing. That one will probably end up being the one I end up using forever and it works great together with their eczema therapy balm. I’m so happy you recommended the balm for eczema (older video) because it truly helps control any flare ups for me. I also really like the cetaphil cracked skin repair for slugging my face and as a hand cream when my hands are extremely chapped.
If you like podcast listen to the Beauty Brains. They are cosmetic chemists and actually formulate the stuff so they know the real scoop. Long story short, the ingredients are the same but the high end brands can afford to add a bit of extra expensive ingredients but they may not do much, especially not in shampoo. Maybe worth it for conditioners. In blind tests with drugstore and professional brands, Pantene always comes out on top. I personally like L’Oréal and Garnier Fructis shampoos. Their parent company also owns kerastase, redken, matrix and pureology
I'm in my 60s with dry skin I want to get something for my arms but hate to spend the money not knowing what will work for the money your videos are very helpful thank you for sharing.
I used to use Cerve. I tried the Gold Bond pure on your recommendation, The gold bond is so much better on my skin. I also use the aveeno calm and restore nourishing pha exfoliator. Everything I use on my face I have found watching your videos.
I absolutely LOVE that shea moisture cleansing balm! It is so nice and rinses off super easily. I have very sensitive, combination, acne-prone skin, and it has been a great cleansing balm in my double cleanse routine. I don't wear make up but it takes off my "waterproof" sunscreen easily. And it's pretty affordable.
8:05 i’ve tried the Bare gel lotion sunscreen and the cast is noticiable. i don’t recommend unless your complexion is much much lighter or you’re layering under makeup. also reapplying for me pills and it settles in fine lines on my neck and face
Cerve's cream or lotion have never stung my face even if I apply it on damp skin. Strangly enough the gold bond pure moisture makes my eyes feel warm so I avoid it on my face but I love it on the rest of my body. It's really good on the elbows and feet. The gold bond eczema cream save me from chewing off my own hands during the heatwave in Houston during 2020. My hands had a massive eczema outbreak and it helped to heal my hands (along with some aquaphor ointment). Haven't tried that gel from cetaphil but I've been loving their eczema and moisturizing bodywashes on both face and body. Happy Monday!
The Aquaphor stick is my favorite lip SPF, and the stiffness is exactly why. I'll straight up spackle my lips with petrolatum at night, but during the day I want something that stays in place for a long time and doesn't make my lips feel slick or gooey. Plus it's one of the few chemical SPF lipbalms that I can almost never taste.
Wow, never thought of using the Gold Bond Pure but after seeing this video will be buying soon. Love the Eucerin you showed us. That does wonders on my skin. It is the best of all the creams I have used ever. It is difficult for me to find lip products with spf as I have a freckle on my lip that I don't know how to treat.
Dearest Doctor, could you tell us if the Gold Bond Retinol overnight or the vit c version have enough "actives" to warrant caution? I am in love with the Retinol Overnight, but all the good effects were pretty immediate, and I've seen and felt nothing to make me think that it counts as a retinol product. I sunscreen many times in a day (just patted on a fresh layer!), but I have not counted it as a retinol product in my weekly routine, and was using the very Shady juice beauty maybe-retinol (in English, its a retinol, but the French labeling says it's bakuchiol & retinol mixed) until this week - no irritation. I wish they would just make this formula normal, the base ingredients are chefs kids!
I haven't seen any derm do a review of the retinol product yet. Based on the ingredients, it's probably no different than most OTC retinol products. The vit c product has essential oils/fruit extracts so that could be a possible cause of irritation and the vit c is a derivative.
Thanks for your reviews. I’ll try the Neutrogena tinted mineral sunscreen next after I finish with the Cerve. Love the Eucerin eczema relief. It’s the best.
I use the gold bond pure and it stings a little on my face but nowhere near as much as the aquation lotion. Would not recommend that at all for the face but it is nice for the body. I found it in the baby section and figured it would be okay on my face but sadly it isn’t.
I tried that bare republic sunscreen, it’s like bluish and leaves a lil white matte cast, you have to rub it good and fast, if it dries before rubbing good it looks like clay.
That gold bond pure moisturizer is awesome. I never would have found it without you. I do a layer on my face as the last thing I do before i go to sleep, over all my serums and my occlusives, and I wake up with my skin smooth and soft, better than I have ever felt it.
Thanks for explaining about the sudden disappearance of vanicream for lips. Very distressing.
Great line!
Might be the nicamide in it
Try the la rouche moisterizer ! I swear by it ! Not the one with sunscreen just the regular one . I LOVE la rouche
Love the Gold Bond Pure -- thanks for turning me on to it. It's much better on my sensitive, rosacea-prone skin than any of the CeraVe moisturizers, which I used to love, but started to sting as the winter dryness kicked in.
Hi I have oily skin, how's the texture of the Gold Bond Moisturizers? Is it light weight?
I tried it too. It is the best for my sensitive skin.
@Bianca it is actually lightweight and absorbs quickly for me.
@@BiancaB29 I have dry skin, but I've never found it heavy or greasy like some creams.
@@Joannabanana1989 Thank you for replying! I purchased today and I love it
Have re-purchased the Undefined R&R Sun Serum -- goes on smoothly over face serums, plus make-up plays well on top of it. Very nice!
I love the neutrogena Norwegian hand cream, but when my hands are very very dry the eucerin original healing cream is very thick and just what I need.
I just found Four Sigmatic at a store and tried it thanks to your channel. First flavor 👍🏻
Gold bond and Cerave has both burnt my skin thank you for the tip
I use an azelaic acid moisturizer that if applied to damp skin STINGS very badly! So I wait for my skin to dry before I apply it and don’t experience any irritation that way 👍 but normal moisturizers I apply to damp skin without issue and I really love that gold bond one. I have also really enjoyed the Neutrogena soothing milky cleanser! It has a bit of an odd scent but it’s not a dealbreaker.
I’ve been using that Neutrogena spot treatment for weeks now and I gotta say that It hasn’t been very effective.
👍🏼👍🏼
@@DrDrayzday I’ve tried neutrogena’s ultra gentle hydrator and it was a pilling nightmare!
Happy Monday Dr. Dray!! Have a Fantastic Day and Week!! Thank You So Much for This Video!! Love and Blessings Always!!🙏🌹💕🙏

Perfect timing Dr. Dray! Ski season has started(along with all other outdoor activities) and your advice saves my skin. Thanks so much.
The Gold Bond Pure stings my face but I have very sensitive skin. I love it on the rest of my body and will repurchase.
Thanks for sharing!!
Ditto
I use that Neutrogena face hydrator everyday. Love it! I have Oily/combo skin, but I find it is still moisturizing. Perfect for under sunscreen and layering serums.
I agree,I've rosacea and damp sk7n before moisturiser causes more burning
That Cetaphil cream in the jar is amazing. I buy the Equate knock off of that and I love it for my hands and body
Happy Monday! Also, I really had a good chuckle over your weekend blog comment about the books attached to our clothing! My family thinks it is funny when I am watching something by myself and then start laughing aloud!

I Love the R&R sun serum! It is my favorite sunscreen with elta MD as my second
I tried that Gold Bond pure moisturizer and I like it, although it's not as moisturizing as what I prefer for my dry skin in the winter. Will probably be a summer fav though!
Yes I bought it in the warmer months and it wasnt moisturizing enough for me at all. And my skin is not overly dry.
Definitely not moisturizing enough for me either. It is very lightweight so not great for dry skin or flaky folks.
@@Joannabanana1989 so which moisturizer do u suggest for dry skin
CeraVe❤ tinted moisturizer with sunscreen , I love.
I love the Gold Bond Pure Moisturizer! It’s great, no stinging or burning.
i love that Undefined Beauty R&R sun serum. And the form factor of that bottle is perfect. it’s replaced my DRMtLGY tinted sunscreen but i miss the “pool floatie” smell :)
That neutrogena hand cream js the best I’ve found being a nurse
I tried the Bare Republic gel sunscreen on my body a few years ago, but couldn’t use it because the fragrance was pretty strong and triggered headaches. I bought the face and body versions at the same time and they were very similar. I loved the light texture, and the scent was nice (kinda fruity), just too strong for me. It never made it to my face so I can’t speak for that. This was awhile ago though, so maybe they reformulated.
I couldn't stand the scent either and it pilled terribly.
Can you please do a review of e.l.f.’s new glow sunscreen 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
It’s funny you said about the la Roche posay product having fragrance in , as I had ordered the lipikar shower gel and it arrived earlier on today , I thought it can be used on babies and just assumed it would be fragrance free. Nope wrong , when I checked the back of the bottle there it was straight up parfum. Not low on the list either smack bang in the middle . ‘‘Twas disappointing , used it tonight and it’s gentle enough but nothing to write home about , I personally prefer the bioderma shower oil cleanser.
This happened to me twice this week actually I assumed sanex original was fragrance free and was wrong thats why I ordered the lipikar … yeeep I won’t be assuming anything else I’m putting on my skin from now on 😂
I find a lot of la roche posayhas fragrance when I assume it won’t. Have to be careful!!
DRAY! Can you address the idea that only PROFESSIONAL shampoo brands are good for washing your scalp? Any favorite DRUGSTORE shampoo that you like?
If you check her hair playlist, you'll find that most of her shampoo product recommendations are drugstore.
@@db-gb5xi excellent! I just watched a hairstyle called @/blowoutprofessor saw no good shampoos are in the drugstore!!!
@@ProfessionalObserver You do have folks who only tend to recommend luxury items.

I'm in my 60s with dry skin I want to get something for my arms but hate to spend the money not knowing what will work for the money your videos are very helpful thank you for sharing.
Great video going to watch a second time because it's so much information!
Yes the eczema relief is amazing, I love it
I used to use Cerve.
I used Noxema twice daily for years as a teen in the ‘90’s and loved the scent…memories 😂
The scent of Noxzema brings me memories of my grandmother in the 1960s, yikes how time flies, oh my!
I was told that I can't use salicylic acid since I am allergic to sulpha. True!
Bare republic isn’t a gel. It’s a firm pass for me. Pills and gets in my facial hair.
My favorite type of DrDray videos!
That glycolic + B5 sounds great! I also like Aveeno calm and restore cleanser.
Thank you, so many great things to try out 😊
You bet!
I WISH we could get the Gold Bond moisturizer in Canada 😢
