AFS Adaptive Front lighting System Problem Fault Code 02629 Copart Salvage Seat Ibiza EP6

- In this video we are tackling the flashing bulb warning fault on our Copart salvage seat ibiza project trying to diagnose this issue, as always I went ahead and scanned the vehicle for fault codes which proved to be very helpful and specific with a swivel position sensor fault code 02609 , then I looked into the live data for some more information where I could see that the figures for the swivel headlight system percentage was different.
This vehicle has the AFS adaptive front lighting system which as most repair that I do I never worked before so I went away and tried to educate myself a little bit , for what i could understand in simple explanation this headlight has 3 motors, one for the high bean and low, one for the levelling of the headlight and one for cornering as you go around a bend the headlight beam adjusts itself illuminating more of the road, but there is a lot more to this AFS system it will take inputs from steering angle sensor, ride height sensor , vehicle speed and more.
Apologies for making it 2 parts but i don't think I'm getting the parts anytime soon.

🤣 me too That’s why so many cars get written off nowadays bud a cheap car like this with a simple collision damage and needs to replace the headlight is a write off , learning a lot with this car. Cheers 👍
Hello there Igor!!! You're into a good one here eh!!! It's great to have the code reader and all but then the big issue is trying to interpret what the codes are trying to tell you. Cars are some sophisticated now with all the electronics in them. Good luck tracking this problem. Take care!!

U need to help me, I have have the same problem on my seat Leon and I replaced the afs module with the exact same one and still not working error code on vcds 02233 and 02244. Cornering lights don’t work but the rest of the lights work apart from the left xenon headlight is dim. Any chance u can tell me where I can get the wiring diagram from? I can’t code or do anything on vcds as it says no communication with the module

Ohhh i feel you pain, at least it's not a BMW...lol... not sure on these cars but if you can try rewriting the cars program to the module and doing the adaptive relearn... 👍👍
Ouch I wasn’t expecting that but hey ho I’m trying to fix this one for sure 😊... for what I can see I’ve got the option to code it off or fix , I need a ST L9935 chip or another AFS module headlight side we will see 🤞👍

Could you confirm control at the headlight whilst doing an output test? I have seen the wires within the headlights break which is a pain.
Interesting one, look forward to the fix.
Swivel and levelling function is done by CAN-bus signal is good , I’ve checked for any damages wires inside the headlight no problem there but found something else wrong with the AFS module within the headlight , waiting for parts at the minute video will be out as soon the parts turns up 👍

I have just gotten this fault on my ocrty VRS, but I have no front or rear sbort to ground. I just have lead light level system short to ground. Unplugged both sensors and then I got front and rear level sensor short to ground. Am getting 5v ref to both front and rear am starting to wonder is it thr AFS module that's failed. Going to skoda next Thursday
Sometimes modules are not able to distinguish between open circuit or short circuit so you could still have a simple bad ride height sensor problem , did you get any figures from the ride height sensors on live data ?
As in voltage? No but I can check. Its just very strange is as just says "open circuit head light level system, so shal I check live data going to the sensors? They both said-100mm ?
@@RorysW0rld ah ok open circuit headlight system , I would check for the wiring inside the headlight or in my case there is another AFS module within the headlight underneath the headlight and when I removed mine it was easy to see the issue , it wasn’t sealing properly and the module was covered in green crusties very badly corroded ... vídeo will be up as soon as a new module arrives 👍
