- There are a huge number of reason why I much prefer watching tier 5 - 6 battles in WOT than tier 10. Today we're going to showcase most of them while at the same time enjoying a result that you don't see very often at all.

Of all the people in this battle, the Excelsior is much more likely to be a complete noob. For a long while now, the Excelsior has been the reward tank that a lot of new players get for downloading world of tanks with a content creator's special code.
The Ex was my first tank other than the tier one lol tanks, and when I first started playing, I had a lot of fun with it. Being a noob, I was waltzing straight into seal clubbers and being indecently high on some good weed, I had a blast. Unfortunately WoT has turned into a money making machine and I no longer find it enjoyable except for watching funny replays.
True, except according to Jingles he has over 400 matches played, he should know better by now. And he was quick to blame his own team for him being an idiot and charging like that.
The Excelsior is a giant POS.... once you use any other tank in the game... you will find out why I say this.
The guy in the Lef might not be as daft as you think, he has the best base view range in tier 5 so there's a chance he was trying to help by spotting, the leafblower is also pretty handy in close quarters combat as the enemy Luchs found out earlier in the game, always nice to see WoT mid tier replays of someone that isnt spamming gold with a 6 skill crew and premium consumables though =)
My Lefh has about 530m view range. I used to play it as a TD :)
In the chat he said "Capture the base" though, dashing that theory. lol
and that theory might have been accurate if he didn't attempt to cap out on an encounter with less than 2 minutes left in the match
Even if he was trying to spot, why go all the way to the corner of the map just to come back down, he might have spotted the 67 if he had tried to get up there. If it was a fast tank I wouldn't see a problem, but its one of the slowest.
I tried to die once on the other big sand map (names are hard lol) and drove straight to the middle. Spotted whole team. Fired and killed 4 tanks. Never got seen xD
That T67 must've been RAGING at the end of that match lol. 8 kills, 3,286 damage, and STILL couldn't win. I guess that's justice served.
Just goes to show you can only stack the deck so far.
I've had a couple of games with 8+ kills and lose the game. Very frustrating. It means the rest of your team sucked really bad. But then again I've had some amazing games with 8+ kills basically carrying the stupids. Tier X even.

Tier 5 is now the Goldilocks zone, it is impossible to see any of the INSANE pay2win exponential powercreep tier 8s

@@starfaze1735 I kitted mine out to ram just for LOLs every now and then. I don't feel it is as OP as it was several years back when people didn't know what to do with it. Now either they know where to shoot it, or just load up the skill. But it did work great training up my E-50 crew! Hrm I haven't played it in many months now, since equipment 2.0 hit when I tried out being a ram panzer lol. Maybe I should dust it off during the holidays.

Pz V/IV and LeFH
P43 is where its at, its stock gun has like 70 pen with its HE, 180 damage, and a 3 second reload. Something like 3k dpm at T5
Yeah, Tier 5 and 6 is where i just lived at after awhile. the tier 7 onwards grind just sapped alot of fun out of my experience so i just went back
Maybe the arty ran out of ammo? That would make sense of his actions, even if he was bad at communicating them.
LeFH also has good view range, probably better than the medium, unless they have actually finally nerfed it beyond the original accuracy, it still has the (very) old open topped bonus to spotting range
@@ainumahtar not to mention actually respectable armor. It's built on the chassis of a very well armored tier 4 heavy.
@@4DTrue Yeah absolutely. The aim time and the reload are als amazing for an artillery piece, so you can actually fight in close combat a lot more effectively than almost all arty where you get maybe one shot if the enemy is bad enough
@@ainumahtar No, LeFH doesn't have just a good view range, with 390m base, it has the best view range of all tier 5 tanks and there are a lot of tier 9 tanks that have worse view range than it.

As a historian, that is really the main reason I play the lower tiers. Besides being way more fun, the tanks actually existed.

Same i quit both wows and wot after 5 years of playing.
I choose to continue with WT, its not the best choice but still much more fun and a lot less of rng
tier 4 and 5 are the most fun I've had in wot.
tier 5 practically doesnt exist. sure you're driving a tier 5, but 85% of the time you're facing tier 7s

I could be called a seal clubber, as I have over 45 000 games, but prefer to play tier 4 - 6. However I compensate by playing British tier 4 - 6 tanks. I just like the game play at these tiers, and the challenge of playing a challenging tank at those tiers.
Tiers 4 - 5 seemed to be the least crappy last time I played. It's actually somewhat balanced.
WoT need more people like you. along with bigger maps and random starting points. No gold ammo and slower tanks would be cool too.
@@nodwick4231 yup, and then you get to t6 trying to get some of the more "interesting" tanks and the match maker pimp-slaps you. Seriously, grinding t6 is literally painful.

When I was still playing WOT, it was mostly tier 4-7. Most enjoyable for a FTP player. This was a while back.
I don't know, the arty may have done the right thing, he moved to be bait and draw a direct shot for the tank.
I would say the arty did the right thing in the situation, if the T67 had gone looking for him he would've turned the 2v1 into a potentially 1v1
The Excelsior might be a referral program account, since that is the code tank that you get. He might be rigging it for a free tier 8 premium which is pretty common
I've been feeling sick for the past 12 hours and I couldn't even go to work today to not risk others sick. Watching this video won't cure my sickness but it'll make me feel better nonetheless 😊

Actually Jingles. Tier IV 14TP and Tier V Skoda T24 seem to be paper designs. Of course, I am talking about real paper designs (at least with the T24), not something a hobbyist scribbled down in the bathroom. Also paper designs account for most of Polish and Czech tanks to begin with.

Akshualy Jingles, that Excelcior stopped and killed T6 Medium flanking on the hill, ensuring that the friendly tanks in the valley even stay alive.
9 years playing this game, pushed up into T10's and I still fall back to T5's. T5's are the most fun in almost any tank.
BTW - You'd think that WOT would read all of these similar veteran comments and actually pay attention. I think their business model is designed and anticipated as short term.

Yeah played wot for years and personally find tier 6 battles the most enjoyable. I do have a lot of tier 10 and frankly the reason I stopped playing is that tier 10 are so boring to play, sure I should blame myself for having the tier 10s that are considered op but can't force myself to grind yet another line and the ones I do drive the battles are always rush into hull down or angled position and hope for the best maybe if situation allows flank the enemies, forget team-mates you might as well be playing 1vs29. And being forced to spam gold in most cases because of impenetrable armor of the tanks I shall not mention is no fun either. But hey I did start to play warships recently and I am on a battleship but due to jingles influence I'm trying my best to be at least a semi proper battleship Player. Tho since I can't recognize most ships on sight I do end up often over penetrating them with ap shells rather than picking HE for lightly armored and ap for heavy armored...
Haha I used to plat WOT too and thought one day why not try warships. Turns out the grind was too tiering for me and didn't understand ANY game mechanics so I gave up in that at tier 3 too XD
I recently unlocked my first tier 10 tank (constantly being setback by WOT reworking tech trees forcing more training and more lines), the E-100, my first 4 games were disasters as hull down Premium Russian heavies firing gold can always pen you and without gold to fire back, you can easily bounce. The wheelies can even bounce my shots with bs angle magic, and with a 30 second reload, 5 second aim time, slowest travel speed, and most games lasting maybe 3-4 minutes total, that is at best 5 shots to fire in a game with ~50% hit chance, that is not a fun or exciting experience at all.
I actually can say that information about the T67 isn't surprising. I have played a lot of games where seal clubing is a major problem.
The fact that tanks tier 7 and lower dont have armor is why i like playing some of the low tier tanks. There are little to no autoloaders and that means you can make a mistake without being instantly clipped or hesh penned by deathstars or shitbarns. The other day i peeked with my is2 2 and bounced 4000 damage in 2 seconds in a tier 10 game and i was lucky to bounce it.
Yeah, riding in my non premium heavies at tier ten to die 30 seconds in to an unspotted premium firing gold is not fun. Last game I had, autoloader kill my platoon mates crew dead with half his health remaining, and his platoon mate hit me with a gold squash that killed my own crew dead in one shot. Next game, ammo racked from a yolo prem-medium that rammed our wheelie to death, bounced my E-100 shot, then racked me before dying to our own hull down premium Russian heavies.

I've been playing for a touch over a year and I've done the grind to tier ten in a couple lines and picked up some other tier 9 and tier 10's along the way. That being said, I genuinely prefer to play between tier 4 and tier 6 for the most part with a little straying into 7 and 8 sometimes. I like tier 4-6 for pretty much every reason you talked about today. It's just more fun.
I played WoT for years and only ever grinded to Tier 5, best matches, lots of fun.
You clearly haven’t ground the Czech medium line recently where you’re constantly dying to the VK 28.10.105 rewards tanks seeping HEAT at you.

The meta is called "Sitztkreig" or "SitsWar". It happens when your teammates are sitting in one spot for most if not all of the match and refuse to move up risking their paint jobs to achieve a common goal of winning the game. All too common in every tier of battle. And in many games for that matter. Not just WoT
Get with the times, Jingles - the new seal-clubber TD is the M10 RBFM: better DPM, better gun-handling and armor that can take some shots.

My favorite tier is tier 6 because of a few reasons. I love playing the easy 8, which is my favorite tank. You get to take all your stress out when playing against tier 4 and 5 vehicles. Tier 6 and 7 battles make for a really fun and entertaining battle were anything can happen. Plus you get a good challenge when playing up to tier 8. Overall you have a really good mix of people who don’t know what they are doing all the to people becoming masters at the game.
When I still had time to play (getting three kids in three years do eat alot of free time), I used to play only mid tier games and only getting to high tiers in a 3 man platoons.
To be completely fair, I don't think 14TP eve made it to even a prototype stage, and I'm 100% certain Škoda T-24 only ever got to be a wooden mockup. But even with those exeptions, your point is still absolutely valid.
Sadly Jingles, despite every tank in THIS battle actually existing, I was playing tier 5 only yesterday and witnessed the 'M4-85', and was forced to leave my computer to go and throw up. Thanks wargaming.
Sold mine straight out of the box. You could forgive them if it wasn't so crap.
Back when I was playing regularly, I'd end up playing about 20-30% of my games at tier 5/6 just to break up the grind. While there are a few OP units, they were never so out of reach that you couldn't at least contribute to the game. At higher tiers, I'd often wish I went down the Russian tech tree instead(that or whatever was the newest nation with some novel concept that'd have a unit at some tier level that could break the balance)...
Then there were the troll matches where I'd get a bunch of friends, jump into a squadron of Pz1Cs with MGs and just plink at stuff pretending we were fighterjets... No gold was allowed, but it would ether end with us dying while closing in formation, or we'd just laugh our asses off in swarms until we decided to go ramming...
Speaking as a battleship player, it's surprisingly easy to find yourself with no good options if you accidentally overextend. Sometimes you just misjudge the enemy position and come out in front of half the enemy team and really can't do anything to maneuver out of it in your big, slow turning, half-mile long behemoth. Battleships require a higher than normal base level of tactics and it's not that hard to make a bad judgement and get very out of position, unless you're playing overly cautious and staying at the back and sniping with your super long range guns.
Edit: And that's not counting the very hard to unlearn trend of "always stay moving" that newer players fall into. I still have a hard time remembering that sometimes the right thing to do is hold your position and not keep sailing around with your head cut off.
The “playing at lower tier” idea that you put earlier applies the same to me in war thunder
Honestly I came away from this video feeling a little offended. That Excel played fairly well and held that corner protecting their backs. Then the Lefefefe did exactly what he should have done given that he has far superior view range and slightly better armor.
This game has had it's longest time. I logon, lose 6 or 7 games in a row because I end up in totally noob teams. And that doesn't make you want to play more. Doesn't help playing as good as you can, because they kill all your team members, and 12 enemy tanks come for you.

T67 was probably running with a 6 skill crew, binocs and food, like any well respected career seal clubber.
actually Jingles, the T1 heavy in this battle on the enemy team was not built. The closest to that was the M6 but they weren't the same. Jingles you're old and crap but we all love you.
Don't forget jingles, that arty player might have disabled his battle chat... Lots of ppl seem to do that nowadays because of toxicity like what the Excelsior showed 🤷♂️

14TP was technically partially build as a prototype but never finished. It was destroyed during the invasion in 39 so the germans couldnt capture it.

Wow, out for a number of hours and I don't see anyone commenting on the Jingles Moments(tm) of "there's a Matilda IV in the game" - nope, and "he's got sixth sense" - nope.
I'm a WoT Console veteran but I always view tiers 5 and 6 as the "nostalgic" tiers for me, as I spent pretty much 20-30% of my battles in those tiers when I was a noob. Playing those tiers actually helped me become better at the game and helped me grow to the nearly 59% WR player I am today across just over 25k battles. It is pretty sad though, when you think about it, that most of us now consider tiers 8-10 to be worse in EVERY regard, ESPECIALLY gameplay, than tiers 4-7.
I have pretty much given up on WoT and on those rare occassions when I do play it is mid tier - simply because that is where the fun games are (if they exist at all). The Easy 8, the M36, the T34-85 are easy to play and not over powered .

On the Contrary Jingles ! You accually can make profit in a Tier X Battle ! The only thing to do is load and fire only Standart Ammo. I do that and I nearly never made Minus Profit in those battles.
Yet I also must agree that playing Midtears is far more fun than playing higher tears. Esspecially these Days when everyone runs wilde to make Missions for Arnie or different.
one funny thing is that the lefefefefefe had the best view range in the whole match! I love low tiers too but unfortunately they have their share of absurde issues too...
It's like the Battle of the 2 AT-1's in the center cap circle shooting each other. Only one had the 6 prd and the other had the HE gun. 6 pdr. won cause he had the faster reload time.

The problem with Tier 5 and 6 are stat padding seal clubbers in T67s and Type 64s, regular as clockwork battles with 3 M44s on each team or the occasional Lefefefefefe that keeps on shitting on you every 7 seconds

Another thing I like about mid-tier battles is that the tanks all look different to each other -- you're not playing with the endless series of cookie cutter lookalike Russian and Chinese tanks. They have character :P

Hello everybody! I am Gorthold. Unfortunately, i couldn' t realize earlier that the battle record i had sent to Jingles got actually have featured considering who knows how many people are sending their battle records to Jingles. I really didn' t expect it to be featured after one or two weeks have passed since i have sent it. So it' s unlikely you are gonna see this comment Jingles but thanks a lot anyways, really appreciated. I have seen some people saying Excelsior staying put because he had been flanked by T6. That just might be the case. But to me at least he or she looked like a little passive before and after the appearance of T6. He might have pushed to the front even if i hadn' t said anything but just in case i had felt like i should point out that he or she should be the one to push. Because the enemys position was more advantageous for them considering they had the flag behind them and all we had one shot tanks at front. So i had thought we are the ones who should be pushing in that stalemate of a situation and make enough damage to the enemy before losing more guns than we have already lost. I couldn' t have pushed with half health and horrible armor and i was the only one who could use that high gun depression required position and the more different shooting angles you have in a location between teammates the better, right? When it comes to the arty, i guess i should have used quick commands for him or her to understand if he didn' t know English. I don' t know whether he or she had had no more rounds left to fire as some people saying, but he or she could have possibly pointed that by using '' loading'' quick command perhaps? I dont know... And as some people have said in comments, i had no idea a level 5 arty could have 400 m. view range on top of having high rate of fire and good accuracy. Very interesting :DD! Maybe he or she had come with me in order to spot or to be a decoy or to cap, i have no idea honestly. Have a good day, everyone!
Would love to see more replays at mid tier to highlight all the points you made, Jings. One problem is almost all replays online are tier X so players form the option of "gotta get to tier X" as if that's where the "real" game is... and so they rush up the tech tree without the skill to support high tier play. I like tier 5 because the tanks represent the era of history I'm interested in. Gets a bit tough if you keep getting in tier 7 games though...
The matildas armour is good and all but the hetzers upper front plate 60mm on a decent slope is insane I've had many steel wall in it (it's my favorite T4)
Before I got an intervention and quit playing WOT Blitz for good I think I had over 5,000 battles in the (pre-nerf) A-20 alone. Seal clubbing is a tough habit to break.

The second I step into anything tier 7 or above, its straight misery and being fed to higher tier tanks with gold spam.

Mid tiers are the best. After tier 6/7 you start to get shafted with economics and RNG

This is why the AMX M4 54 is the gold standard for tier 10 balancing. It has weak spots. It can't just point and click at tanks with gold ammo. It actually takes some effort to play and can be penned in virtually every single scenario if you try. More tanks need thus balancing.
No camp on the t67. Overconfidence is a weakness.

I starting playing this game to play the Tiger and all WWII tanks. So that means I prefer tiers 4-8.
Tiger 1 is a high skill cap tank; you can do well in it, but only if you are really good and if you know the limits of the tank. I have three marks on mine, and I treat it as a fat medium with arthritis, or in other words, good gun, bad to meh armor, mediocre mobility.
Frankly I'm surprised the T67 ONLY has that many battle in it
