I just love your humour. Your videos are as informative as they are entertaining. You have a natural ability to present and educate. A rare set of qualities indeed. Thank you.
Short but sweet! The sweetness not caused by sugar but by your entertaining banter and bathos! Thank you for sharing the repair with us today.
Sorin, Your videos are the favorite way of spending my day. When you get to be my age your wit and knowledge are most appreciated. Regards
8:06 the best moment in all videos. My heart is so joyful 💞☺
You make repairs like this look too easy!
The evil mad, scientist, laugh, OMG you’re killing me Sorin 😂😂😂
That fabric would probably impede air flow too much to cover the complete grill.
Mr.Sorin I am so Greatful for your videos i learned a lot of things from you. thank you very much and i like your personalty and your way of thinking .your style of discovering faults and fixing is very intersting thank you agin and sorry for my bad english.
Nice to see you joking around at the end of the video.
That's interesting about the alcohol and water - totally makes sense when you think about it, but extremely interesting at the same time! Good job Sorin !
When " Tshirt with Sorin´s phrase "WE HAVE PICTURE"
You are the best teacher i ever seen. You are doing all the things in practical way. But always im thinking What wrong if clean the cooling fan when you disassemble the laptop for the customer ?? This is not a complain. What's is behind it?
They did put the black shroud because it hinders cooling - the fan is under
If you use water, you should use distilled water at least. No minerals, less chance of corrosion and shorting something out. Even after you dry out the board with hot air, you can't be totally sure if there is no water under a chip.
Flux off also works well to clean these things
I agree, those minerals on the board will fix the humidity and accelerate corrosion
and the rosin can avoid that ..
I literally hosed down boards that were too nasty to even look at and 10 years later are still working right now, you just need to dry them the right way
Agreed. Here in the SE of England (where Sorin is too) the tap water is very hard. I always use distilled water for stuff like this. Perhaps he has a water softener/filter.
Always watching sir...from Philippines
Thanks for the video. No matter what you do you always seem to get 'critics'.
Real life is different from what some imagine...
Nice job easy to fox for mr sorin for another i dont now for me sorin is the best thank you
Something that also works is Vodka, 40% Alcohol and 60% water. Dissolve sticky stuff, some oils and a capacitor. 🙂
and temporary dissolve life "problem" too
@@bintangsatrya; lol. Yeah.
I've used vodka on a few occasions to clean CD players lenses...
@@ssikhcnerf : Tequila also works very well but until the next day (hangover is gone)

Nice job as always.
You don't clean the fan or replace the thermal paste in such jobs?
Do you have or can you make a video of a run down of the equipment you use and what it does or why it's used?
While your in there you aught to blow out the fan if it is that full of dust. I always clean the fan and heatsink if I do any work inside a laptop.
Happy you like working for free. Others may not. If you go to a densltist to get your tooth filled, they aren't gonna do a whitening as well "while you're in there". Different job, different price.
@@miajonekemYou're right , but cleaning the fan wouldn't be too much problem , easy and fast thing to do
@@Dracula.25Takes time, and time is money.
@@miajonekemHow lazy are you? It takes literally 30 seconds and prevents a customer from returning with the same laptop. 30 seconds for more customer satisfaction is worth it. If you took your car in to the tire shop to get your tires rotated and had a low tire how would you feel if they didn't top the air off? Similar scenario
We have picture❤❤thank you for sharing sorin
Awesome video . Enjoyed the cutomer jokes😂
nice work from kenya africa
Maybe you should have cleaned the sticky from the fabric. I would think that the liquid residue will now impeded air flow.
Sorin is very professional on fixing all these failures. I do not have any clue on these electronics and am very impressed about his confidence. But as a customer I would like to receive a notebook with a complete cleaned mainbord, also the fan needed a good cleaning. Maybe the termal paste renewed would have completed the service.
Good job mate 👍

No capacitor, no shorted capacitors😀
you cleaned the fan too?
Whats the empty left plug near the battery?
Love your videos
nice video thanks
10:00 Because people don't clean it from dust and when it get full of dust it won't get enough air to cool the laptop. You can already see how much dust there is in the fan. That fan have never been cleaned.
I have fixed so many computers/consoles only by removing dust from the heat sink.
Sorin what kind of software do you use for jobs management tickets contacts etc.?
Are you really leaving the fan as filthy as it is? Also no refreshing of the thermal paste? 🤔
Maybe the customer is a cheapskate and wants to pay as little as possible, so Sorin won't work for free.
That's the problem! It is too cheap - that's why it can't deliver any ( necessary ) additional performance.@@davidlguerr
Can you vacuum the dust on that fan? I guess you do want to see your customer back! : )
Hey Sorin, what thermo camera you use? Is it the UNI-T UTI260B?
Such a good video. Love the jokes to.
Your mood is very good today 😂
Nice one
More airflow ( bigger holes let pass more air)
When you set 'some current' do you match the rating of the charger? And how much current when injecting 0.9-1.3v? Thanks
Here we have a sweet HP laptop :)
I'm the same. Do a dodgy repair cos you want to see the customer again 😂😂😂
Very sweet laptop...
i put my lenovo in water put it still working
battery still connected, wow
One question....do you fully check the funtionality of the laptop after you get power to it ?, because no doubt the keyboard is also liquid damaged.
prob. not, looked like the liquid gunge came up through the bottom, rather than the usual "punter drooling over the keyboard" problem
Shouldn't you clean the fan too, it seems completely clogged up
Then the customer won't come back 😂It depends how much he will charge for the job.
You should use distilled water as it doesn't conduct electricity, its pure h2o
de-ionised would likely do just as well
@@daffyduk77 i distill water for one of my businesses, it's very adsorbant. Not sure on de-ionised. Some IC's are Moisture sensative, hence why they are packing with silica gel packets
They didn’t cover the entire back because that’s where the fan is, they should use a material like goretex, it allows air to flow through but blocks liquids
That's exactly what that black material is.
Mfr didn't use additional "protection" from liquid as it would further impede flow of air to & from fan. Fan needs a quick blast of air to clean
Nice repair video! Jokes aswell funny)))😁
Nice simple job pity when you put it together you didn't give the fan a quick clean.🤔🍻
Water is called the universal solvent. I used to think alcohol was the universal solvent, but I was wrong. It's water.
you should remove the battery before putting more water on it and removing caps...
Sir, I have a HP250 G7 but the battery is not charging anymore. I tried replaced the battery and charger but it says 0% available (plugged in).
Please help
Short and sweet! hahaha Coca cola anyone? Or a new capacitor? hahaha. Good video I love the humour! 👍
I have to disconnect the battery if i want to clean with water right?
bios battery too
he's lucky because the battery is very discharged
Maybe he used destilled water (non-conductive)
@@peterg3r3c57 he always warn us about the battery and power when removing the screen connector.. I think he did remove it but we didn't see.. I trust his experience more than the video 🤣
Anyone got any idea on how to trace fault where the NVMe isn't detected?
I know Windows 10/11 doesn't routinely have the Intel RST drivers installed. But when you look into the BIOS there is a RST for the HP 14s series.
The NVMe works in a caddy. So it isn't the drive.
Also I get the Amber battery charging light that eventually goes white BUT pressing power leads to a 1 second power on light then nothing. Seems a common fault but no clear stepwise solution
You didn't replace the new cap?
No sorin believes its not a must.. Trust his experience more my friend.. He can see the board and sometimes he do replace and sometimes don't
Because it works without that cap. It will put additional stress on the other ones, and another one may fail sooner than expected, but my guess is that computer is not going to be used that long.
He made the design more efficient, some engineers like to add useless cap to justify their work.
hi mr sorin, i wonder if you always clean the fan and heatsink and even replace thermal paste on every job, those hairs dust and whaterver got stuck on the ventilation are nasty, i like to call it mustache, lol, so i refer to that job to shave the laptop, lol, cheers man
the fan ...
Hello, very good video but I have one critic's, the fan was full of dust why you didn't clean it is a one minute job.
We know you were joking Sorin.
Greetings from North London .
They did not put the cover on the area of the fan most probably because the laptop would not get enough air.
my hp840 g4 on but no display 4 light is still on no disply
Oh man, the jokes!😂😂😂
Water just enter my laptop and what’s the consequence Sir ?
Lol 😂we want to see the customer back
6:24 Its the second capacitor. Hm? No, one second, it's not second. LOL
see customer back again 😂😂😂😂😂
Because you need airflow for cooling the cpu, even this holes are actually to small...
Sorin you forget to replace the capacitor?😂😂lol
He wants the customer back again😂😂😂 I'm just joking
better not replace, if the capacitor is parallel and you replace only one surely it will come back, caus the capacitor you replace will handle all the stress, cause other capacitor might be open,. about the screen maybe it is heat exhaust,.
Lol...its so funny.....we always want to see the customer back with more jobs....that's why we're here. ..lol
💗
👍👍👌👌
Sorin you should at least spend another 10 mins cleaning the fan and the back case of sticky residue, we know you don't replace the capacitors and used to that
I replaced a motherboard the other day and started it up. Screen comes on and i say. "It's working, I can't believe"
I bet the customer insisted there had been no liquid spill
Bro is laptop jesus.
Of course we want the customers back after 6 months lol...
Closing laptop with that dirty fan. 🤦🏻
lol iam here for the jokes
Hello🤝👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋
clean that fan its so nasty :(
sorry-n capacitor 😆
I do not think the manufacturer has to be concerned about protecting that laptop against liquid, unless it was a rugged one, which is not. Laptops are not supposed to handle liquid inside, manufacturers do not have to protect their devices against users that spill liquid on their laptops.
Ok you fix it, but why you did NOT clean the fan,it is so dirty and full of dust....????👎
I don't like short videos! :(
YOU NEVER CLEAN THE FAN. EVER. THAT FANS JUNKY AT BEST AND YOU SHOULD CLEAN IT. YPU NEVER CLEAN FAN
Shameful. Did you look at the fan?!? It is almost totally blocked by dust and you did not clean it???!? You really want the customer back because of overheated and with a little bad luck totally destroyed laptop. And additionally you really should clean the bottom cover before putting it back. It is sticky and the vent holes will be blocked with dust sticking to that sticky sugary liquid. I give you 2 out of five of this job. I would not let you do the job in my shop.
lol
.
using liquid will destroy your pc,, just buy another pc
👍👍👌👌
