I always loved Ian Fleming's prose. I read all the Bond books when I was a teen and then several more times as an adult. It's lovely to hear the books narrated so well. Thank you for making them available.
I have been reading for the first time. The narrations are great and I was blown away by the energy of Fleming's prose, fantastic descriptive writing and humor.
"It was a room-shaped room, with furniture-shaped furniture... " I love this in comparison to the heavy detail elsewhere. Fantastic book with a great reader!
The real James Bond: the very plausible, cold-blooded, very intelligent assassin that strongly resembles Hoagey Carmichael with the drooping lock of black hair. Everyone else is just an imposter. Ian Flemings "Thunderball" is an excellent novel 💙💚
The main plot-hole is the sheer impossibility of M sending Bond to the very place that the bombs are hidden and then Bond meeting the girlfriend of Largo almost as soon as he arrives! One of the later novels and Fleming was clearly struggling to link the plot lines together.
Thank you for the reading. I am listening it by parts so I make some marks here tu recap it chapter 2 13:24 thank you As I read more I will edit here this note
60 cigarettes a day plus half bottle of Whisky ?! Fleming passed away tragically early ( in his late 50s ) thanks to that combination. A short life but a merry one...
The novel was based on a screenplay that was intended to be the first film. Fleming didn't create SPECTRE - the co- writers did. Thankfully. Fleming , being a committed anti- communist, would have kept using Russia as the villain in every novel!
The narration is great UNTIL it gets to foreign accents.....the attempt at the indeterminate American one is bad (and pointless) enough - the Caribbean ones are downright awful, bordering on offensive! I imagine he 'dragged up' up in the studio when switching into higher-pitched mode for the female characters, probably sat in a tux for the majority of the reading, which then obviously begs the question as to whether he 'blacked up' or not when butchering the islanders speech......😄

5:30:55. One demonstration of how much a word can completely change its meaning in, what, 30 years?
Brilliant thank you.

Yeah . Weakest part of the story are the implausable and incredible coincidence
That was great! Thanks
Thank you for the reading.

3:38:00 Bond smiled. He said "bitch."
Interesting to hear M promoting the benefits of natural health remedies...
I’m slowing the speed to .075% to hear it clearly it must be a British thing it works for me. Thanks.
03:24:00 Not, "My Disco Volante." M(otor) Y(acht) Disco Volante.
Ouch

That's why I loved Connery' s looks in DAF. The look of a man slightly gone to seed - unlike Craig's buffed look in SKYFALL
But in SPECTRE- Craig fails his physical- Bond still has a buff gym toned physique
Not a bear it's a man. Bad guy.
Good stuff
Why is he drowning a bear in the thumbnail.
It apears to be another scuba diver to me
Hahaha. That's another diver.
He has a licence to kill anything.
@@JckSwanYes. 😅
Grin and bear 🐻 it 😮😊
BP 160/90. Can’t believe he didn’t have a stroke.

Laughing at a Walther PPK 7.62mm shot being called so loud😂
Simple rules for dealing with bears:
If it black, fight back.
If it’s brown, make it drown.
The part where he's talking about how women drive

Bond a Veggie and Natural Yoghurt eater. Oooh Bond should be called BIND . Lol

I like Domino in the original book, more like Fiona in the film: fiery and independent (don't like the submissive one in the film)
Do you have Octopussy & the living daylights?
