    I really enjoyed watching you walk through this process. I’m debating getting the Cutie Breeze for use on my home machine 8” throat. I’m inspired, but also scared! 😂 Thanks for keeping it real!

      @dimples6596 Thank you so much. You will have to weigh it out. To visualize, you could cut a piece of paper at around 6 1/2” which after the take up poll is accounted for, is about what you will have. Will that be enough space for you to work in? Just a thought. You will make the right decision for you!

      @@FogDogStudios thanks for replying! I think 6 1/2 may be enough for a beginner. I'll try what you suggested. Thanks for your insight! 💕

      That was exactly what I said when I learned about it. I use that method on all my machines now!

    Thank you for demonstrating how to have a small area, small frame, and how to quilt on a long arm quilting machine, I found it extremely helpful.

    Just found your video. I am new at this and I really enjoyed seeing your process, your imperfections (which I could not see in the finished product), and your hand getting in the camera ( which helped me to see how you work the machine). I can’t wait to watch more. Thank you for making this.

    I’m so gladI found this video. I have a quilting frame I’ll be picking up this weekend with the Qnique 14 on it. Seeing how to move a large quilt on the frame, I was like Woooooo Whooooo!!

    This is a beautiful quilt. I just got a cutie for my domestic and new to quilting. Love your tutorial. I feel much more comfortable with going for it once I get a few quilt tops done.

    My Cutie is still not used. I just need to set it back up. I finish a quilt top and then balk and just use my mock sit down with suspension system because I know it and I'm comfortable with it. I'm just going to have to put on my brave face and give it another try...last time. My curves were pretty boxy lol. I did like it, I do, I'm just set in my ways lol. Thank you for the demonstrations, they are very helpful.

      You can do it. It does take a bit of practice, time and patience with oneself. I didn’t get it immediately, and I continue to practice every single time. I have dozens of “practice quilt sandwiches” that I test and practice on! I know you can do it!

      My machine is probably a 2009. No handles came with it, the cutie frame however, comes with handles to use, they are located just under the machine bed.@@debmetheral6596

    Just got my Cutie & started practicing with it. Have a sm throat machine but glad I'm not wrestling with it. Found myself holding my breath watching your ruler work & realized I do that when I do ruler work & have the death grip going on. Do you have a tip for that or is it just me ? Loving your videos. Love your voice ❤️ nice & calming. Keep these coming please 🙏

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios  2 роки тому +1

      Congratulation! It is funny you ask - I do have a tip...although I don't always follow it. Someone told me when I first started out that it is quite "normal" to have a "death grip" on your machine. They said when practicing, instead of grabbing the bar with your hand, grab it with just your thumb and pointer finger and work it a bit that way. It helps, it really does, when you remember to do it. The more you work with your machine, the easier it gets and the less 'death grip" happens. Thank you so much!

    Hi, waiting on my qnique 19 to come in this next week. was using jazz2 but kept getting eyelashes on back of quilt. no matter how I adjusted tensions. I think I moved too fast for the machine. I am hoping the speed alarm on the qnique will help. I have several scrap qullt sandwiches made to practice on and then donate. can't wait am so excited. Your videos have helped me with frame and now with machine. Thank you,

    Have you tried using any of the tacky grippers to help hold your ruler in place?

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios  2 роки тому

      I have and I don't care for it. Most of the rulers I use don't slide all that easily, except when I am not paying attention. I need to be able to move them but still have them hold and for the most part they do. Everyone will have their own feel and way of doing things
      and figuring out what works best is part of the whole process. I do use the tacky grippy stuff on my cutting rulers though!

    How do you change out bobbins? Just got my machine and have yet sewn anything yet.

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios  2 роки тому +1

      Which machine did you get? With the Qnique19 (any Qnique machine) I simply lift the quilt hanging down in front and place it on the frame. Don’t remove any clamps. Pull the machine toward me and change out the bobbin. The quilt I just finished went through 10 bobbins. If you are using a domestic machine, it is different. I hope that helps.

    Do you spray baste, or pin baste?

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios  2 роки тому +6

      Hi Kim! I spray baste. I usually have a few ready to go for a nice day outside when there is no breeze. I have a hard time with pins because of arthritis. I guess I could do a quick "basting hack video" when the weather calms down. Super windy and cold here today.

    Question, why do you keep turning it on and off?

    • @FogDogStudios
      @FogDogStudios  2 роки тому +1

      I am not turning the machine off and on, I am starting and stopping it. I am in Precise Regulated mode and I do not want it to continually lay down multiple stitches in one spot while I readjust my hands, ruler, quilt, etc. If I were to continue (leaving the machine stitching, one wrong bump and I will have stitches where I don't want them....It has happened. Ii hope that answers your question.
