DJI Just released new Firware with better tracking Date: 2023.07.05 Firmware: v01.03.01.10 and added tilt mode so that should fix some of it
Would be interesting to see a re-test with the new update to the OM 6. It now has Active Track 6 to fix the tracking issues as well as allow for tracking while zoomed to match the tracking of the Flow.

Looks like both are wonderful gimbals without any drawbacks. But it is not true. There were no a word about Insta's weak tripod, for example.

please test the Y axis, that's where all gimbals fail and for example when you walk or run you still see the Y axis oscillations and the only solution is to use a cheap mechanical gimbal with springs.
in comparison with the OM6, which of the two gimbal phone holder will be able to holder a thicker phone case securely and is the width of the case/phone the same with the two or would one holder a wider phone/case then the other gimbal holder? With those with android phones, do you know if one is still able to connect with the gimbal via bluetooth (without the app) and use basic gimbal to control basic controls like activate shutter or does one need to use the app to do that or manually on the native camera app (in my case I have Samsung S22 Ultra)? @@gvrdnnk3102 the fact the OM6 lost the subject tracking and the battery life as compared to the Flow.
Yeah, that sells it for me as well. But, since I like the DJI physical design and ergonomics better, I’m waiting for at least one firmware update before final decision to buy any of them. Because improving the tracking should be possible through software. And hope they will (never owned a phone gimbal yet, but I expect those have firmware updates same as camera gimbals, right?).
As for the battery life, having 12h instead of 6 is definitely better, but I could live with 6h battery life just fine as well.
also, wish to see the insta360 working with other video conferencing app's like whatsapp, or any zoom calls, or facetime, so that ppl use it via the tracker feature,.

DJI would love to give you that feature in the OM7, how will they sell more gymbals and make it to OM6 if you get all the feature updates in OM1 or 2? Same with their drones and I am a victim, they never update features for their older models. Make a new model and sell it for Apple money
@@JosephAlukka I understand totally, though respectfully suggest that DJI probably expects to sell many more OM6 before the OM7 is released. Is it possible that if they don't make a change in this area they could lose ground in market share? And as you have seen, DJI do update current and past drone models regularly and I suppose it's in part to keep ahead of the competition. The newest models come out with just a little bit more in the way of new abilities to entice those of us who are crazy enough (me) to always want the latest. Yes, I am an Apple sucker too. So for an improved tracking feature in OM6, I still think we can hope. That is of course, if it would only require software updates to match or exceed the competition's ability.
Spring is finally in the air, my fellow Canadian. It will be enjoyable to get out again with our drones and smart phones/cameras. It's going to be another great year!

As one who has a shelf full of DJI toys, I can say they never want to improve the current product. Its a one-and-done, move on to the next. Insta-s60 seems to be a little more open to updating current models... Not much, but a little more than DJI.
Does any of these gimbals supports auto zoom while tracking subject, if subject comes near or goes far?

Hi , im really enjoying your videos and learning alot from them, i have bought a drone, or should i say a ( flying camera ). My drone arrives tomorrow, i have taken your recommendation and bought a DJI MINI 3 PRO , Again on your advice ive bought a small pack of ND filters, i will experiment with ND 16, 32 and 64 in auto exposure mode first, we spend a lot of time in North Wales that has the stunning Snowdonia national park and some fabulous coastal scenery and beeches, especially on the isle of Angelsey. So i am really looking forward to using and learning to fly my new DJI Mini 3 PRO. My question is what software would you recommend for editing video. I have used Light Room Classic before for editing still pictures, but find it hard going. Im looking for some software that is easier going. Please Help. Thanks in advance. Both are nice, but I find Insta360 being silly if true what was said is true about their comments.
DJI released its gimbal earlier than Insta360, so it should be expected that Insta360 would have upgraded those considered issues on DJI.

Any sense of how the gimbals compare in range of motion/basic tracking or ability to handle heavier phones/accessories?
Insta 360’s payload says 300g while DJI OSMO 6 says 290g. Insta 360 gives almost 360 degrees while I believe DJI is in the 200’s.

Can the the tracking tool keep the person's head in the middle upper quadrant of the video shot, if you put on the grid lines? In most videos I need the tracking to lock the subject not in the center of the shot but in the upper center so selfie walking videos keeps the subject looking professionally shot. Please reply! TY!
For what I see, the Insta360 Flow can do that, DJI doesn’t

Looks promising, I wanted to buy isko pocket but now I'm confused either flow and osmo pocket.

DJI is a bigger company and won't fall behind. As with all tech products, it's a leapfrog development. For better or worse, DJI will usually be ahead, they have experience, money, and reputation to keep.

Why do people keep saying smartphone gimbal when it works at the maximum just with iPhone. Other phones are compatible at 50 percent and in some cases less. I wanted to get it to do a review in my channel but after seen all the reviews just with iPhone and ask in forums, it doesn't work 100 percent with s22 ultra or s23 ultra which are flagships, imagine with other phones
Who has osmo mobile 3 gimbal and has osmo 6 . Both are using the same app.
Does the camera experience is the same?
Do either of these gimbles offer vertical recording or is everything landscape?
About the 1:29 mark it is in the vertical/portrait mode I am guessing.

I have used DJI Mimo app with Action cam and Mavic Mini for editing and used to find it pretty good but more recently seems to crash a lot (the app, not the drone). I was thinking of going Insta 360 but this Insta gimbal looks awesome. Is their editing software any good/have music/free please?

mrwhostheboss did a video on this 360 and he had a moment of like 5-10 seconds where he did show that you can add special effects to your videos with A.I and it was pretty good. So I guess their editing software might be decent.

Interested in the 360 part, which could make it a really attractive product, but Mike from 360 Vroomers indicates the following:
"It sounds exciting in concept but the stitching is not good. And it’s only 4096 x 2048. You can save the photos to use in PTGui, but if you do that, I think you might as well shoot with a DSLR. So the 360 pano feature is just for fun or as a gimmick."
If this is really the case, it's a pity...

@@gilbertguerin9080 Look 👀 I like DJI products and have had 3 Osmo cameras and 2 Mavic drones, but the on this occasion, the Insta360 is the better product. They are both pretty cheap and not really aimed at professionals, even though they can produce very good footage. It’s just the tracking on the 360 is better on all the UA-cam videos I’ve seen when comparing it to the DJI.

This is clearly a very intelligent camera gimbal, that moves into top spot over the DJI and others like the Zhiyun, because we all know....and rightly so....it is ALL ABOUT Alina. The Re-ID feature might be useful in a crowd scenario.

Same as DJI Mini 3 Pro: if you disappear for two seconds during an active track, you're fucked. If someone goes in front of you, you're fucked. Waiting for this to be fixed with future firmware update...

Until either of them allow the MagSafe to directly connect to the gimbal, I won’t upgrade.
How different or similar are they used with Android phones rather than iPhones?
Android is limited compared to iPhone, only 4k 30fps while tracking
