Nice intro video. After paddling 9 miles of flatwater with no flow I realize I need to add a touring boat to my fleet. I'm a bigger guy with wide hips so struggle finding sit insides that I can fit in. Now the struggle to find one to see it If can fit in.
Nice video. Im 5'9" and just over 260lbs. Im looking to get off the couch! I had a fishing kayak but lost interest as it was very heavy and slow. Im looking to camp and explore. This video explained a lot and with a little more research still to be done, it helped me make a choice. THANKS!
What's the weight capacity on the journey? I am 6' 2" and about 260, looking for a touring boat and am actually tied between these two but can't find all the specs.
The journey is 275 lbs for 13'6" and 310 lbs for the 14'. The Tsunami 145 is 350 lbs and roomy. I have a Tsunami 145 and its a solid kayak. Given that your comment is 3 years old I'm sure you made your choice already but figured I'd answer your question anyway.
I have yet to try the journey, but the tsunami tracks very well and has great speed. But, its chunky like a tank. Someone on yt called it a barge lol. Its hard to turn as well. I was offered to try the journey, and will do it soon.
I have tried both boats. I have physical limitations so I need a boat to meet me where I am physically. The tsunami wants to go straight, big time and can be a challenge for me personally. The journey however is much easier to turn, and I can get more polished with her as time goes on. Journey for me, is a winner winner, chicken dinner lol.

I have the Tsunami 165. It turns pretty easy on edge. Touring boats aren't meant to be turned while being flat on the water.
did you actually try and compare the two?
Tsunami is my pick
