    I just bought one of these, I’m 5’2 and 110 pounds. Will this be too big for me or can I make it work? I’m used to a 14.5 perception Carolina for reference.

    Hello, you say (in a comment below) the kayak is for the larger paddler and you give a weight of 180 - 245 LBS.
    My question: What if one is large in size but not in weight? Ia myself am a little over 6.1, but my weight is only 165 pounds.
    Should I get the Tsunami 140 or 145?
    I´d really appreciate your help!

      Its rated as optimum paddler weight, being slightly under is not going to hurt at all! The extra length will make for a slightly faster boat. Cockpit dimensions are essentially the the same though. If you have the chance try them both out and see what you prefer, but I would recommend you go with the 145. Have fun, and see you on the water.

    can you review the perception expression in this fashion? which would you recommend between the two?

      +Joseph Reni - We no longer stock the perception series as we found their soft chined hulls challenging for new paddlers, while the larger volume and roomier cockpits did not satisfy more the experienced crowd. As for the Tsunami 145, it is geared towards a paddler who is interested in a 'no surprise' type of kayak with user-friendliness in mind. That said, the design does not cater to long-term skils development. It is also suited for larger paddlers in the 180 lbs - 245 lbs range. If you'd like to chat further and receive more in-depth information about kayaks, feel free to send us an email to frontenacoutfitters@gmail.com - I am more than happy to help!

    How does this kayak compare to the Dagger Stratos? I'm trying to decide between the two.

      +bourgeoisboy The 2 Kayaks are about as different as one can possibly get. The WS Tsunami 145 is stable & predictable but compromises efficiently to do so. Whereas the Dagger Stratos 14.5L is a fun and lively, skills development oriented yak that purposely sacrifices a bit of initial stability for over all performance.

    If I’m 5.10 what length of a paddle should go with this kayak?

    I wonder why new tsunami 145 do not have day hatch like that one??

      It was difficult to reach, and tough to close while on the water and since it didn’t have a bulkhead, it put the rear compartment at risk. They added the top deck bags, and under deck water bottle holder to make up for some of this storage loss. It's a little more accessible this way.

    Hey pretty serious power myself everyone wants to make a card video no one will give price I'm buying the first kayak don't tell me how much it cost

  • @cathytownsend7295
    @cathytownsend7295 10 років тому

    Why don't you show us a view inside the hatches? I'd like to know what the storage is like. This was a frustrating review -- like listening to a used car salesman who didn't know much about the vehicle.

    • @FrontenacOutfitters
      @FrontenacOutfitters  8 років тому +3

      +cathy townsend - I apologize for the tardy response; sadly, I had not notice this comment at the time you posted it. We don't do views inside the hatches as we do not have a proper studio space with professional lighting. As you can imagine, seeing nothing but blackness is as useful as not showing the hatches interior.
      Was there something in specific you'd like to learn about the Tsunami 145 that you didn't from the video? If so, please send me an email at frontenacoutfitters@gmail.com, and I will be sure to provide you with thorough information that would shame any "used car salesman."
