Great video man! There's not much content for nc miatas out there, so this is going to help a lot of people.

Tochigi-Fuji is the full name of that diff style. I remember that from the old Mazdaspeed Miata ads back in the day lol.

Frankenstein-ing the axles is significantly easier than modifying the PPF to fit a RX8 diff.
If you're going for as overkill as possible, you might want to get a S2 diff cover. It has more cooling fins on it.

I like the challenge of modifying, and thanks for the heads up. I may look for that cover!

Can't wait to see the diff install video. I've read that there's a bit of fabricating required to get the 8's diff fitted to the NC... but can't find any details from anyone on exactly what kind of fab work.
Subbed and eagerly waiting for part 2!

Good call on the axles. I just serviced a cv joint, similar stuff. I really did not enjoy the process.

do you think this mod is only worth the work for a track car? the diff in my nc is going out(mazda service bulletin; too much lapping compound from the factory causes uneven wear). miata is my second car i occasionally take out to the canyons

I really only did the swap for the 4.44 ring and pinion not for the rx8 diff itself. Also it’s just a bonus now I have rx8 rear hubs which are stronger than the NC hubs. For street/ canyon car. You aren’t pulling the sustained G forces I would at a track (not trying to act like some race car driver but this is pretty true)
So that being said. A 4.44 final drive may be too much on the street for some,
If it was personally my street/canyon car? I would just repair the diff and keep it 4.1.

Any idea if the nb/na axles fit the nc differential?

You recommend anybody to do the 2.5 swap in Los Angeles or IE area code?

@@MitchelYardley ok thanks. I used rx8 sensor but i have no abs and tacho... I will put nc sensor

@gregorygrandjean8820 yeah you’ll need the NC sensor. Your ECU doesn’t have the parameters to use the rx8 sensor.
