I absolutely love crescent kicks. Front-leg, rear-leg, inside / outside, or outside / inside. All have their application.

No one ever expects combos with a peet cha ki thrown in

Clearing front kick, into lunge side, then come back set in stance. Always brought a smile to my face seeing it in the old Martial Arts/ Kung Fu movies and learning to do it myself was a big goal when I was young.

The lunging scoop kick is now my favorite. It even works on women.

How could a shorter person succeed against a taller person in sparring, tournament, or street self defense

This is a great question, I think this is one of the most asked questions there is. I'm going to do a video about this, stay tuned...

You skip fake punch ( hammer fist ) then skip side kick or step through side kick.

Could I train TSD with a not so healthy hip? Specially a torn labrum that I went through physical therapy for. It's fine now but kicking could agitate it

This may not help but from what I’ve learned as a beginners every move we make from basic forms to regular sparring you use your hips for everything so it may put strain on your hips. However my instructor who has been training in the art for a long time has all sorts of back, hip, and leg problems yet the art benefits him. Even his doctors told him to keep doing the art. However I don’t advise you to unless you know you can handle some strain. If you can you should go to a dojang and ask the instructor questions

Completely wrong. arm is fast, leg is slow but powerful. in proper TSD the hands are used to create openings and opportunity for the kick. the only exception are low kicks. even then a hand feint helps. Watch MMA. kick leads rarely work.
