Thank you SO much to everyone who’s subscribed and helping me reach my goals here on youtube. You mean the world to me! Also, the youtube advice/tips I give in this video is more towards the same niche as mine, lifestyle. I hope it helps!! And when I say “switch the angle every 5 seconds” I mean during b-roll, just wanted to clarify🤍
Its such a strange feeling, being a tiny creator trying to grow, knowing that maybe the next one will be the big one, but we just have to stick with it! 😆
From 2.5k subscribers to that first UA-cam paycheck - you're not just sharing numbers, but a journey filled with dedication and milestones. Your transparency is refreshing, and it's evident that your hard work is paying off. Thanks for the insight into your UA-cam adventure; it's both motivating and informative for those of us aspiring to grow our channels. Here's to many more paychecks and subscribers in your future! 🥂 And I would love to watch a video about affiliate marketing and how much money can one make even with a relatively "small" channel.
Awe thank you so much for your kind words!!! It means a lot to me. As far as affiliate marketing goes, I actually don’t really make any money with that yet. I haven’t fully taken the time to learn more about it and try to grow it. I share amazon links here and there but I’ve only had a few people use my links so far.
Thank you for the insight, your content is amazing. ❤I still remember my first UA-cam 'paycheck', a lot of emotions and I was so proud of myself. If it wasn't for my consistency and hard work (and a little bit of Famester), I wouldn't have made anything.
I started my channel a while ago but never posted anything serious until 4 months ago. Ive hit 1K already but the watch hours are the hardest for some reason. Definitely not giving up though. I want to do this full time and on a bigger scale so I can help others 🙌🏽 Its just a bit hard with my disability so sometimes that really makes things more complicated and difficult. Praying I get where I need to though to help the people I need to. Thanks for this video. Its awesome to hear from smaller UA-camrs who are on their journey and are monetized. 💯
Watch hours are definitely pretty hard to get, but you’ll get there!! And i love that you’re going into it with the intention to help others, that is SO important 🤍
If you can focus on a bit longer videos that still are up to the quality that you think is good, that might up the watch hours quite a bit. The most important thing is doing things you love, so it doesn't become a chore. Keep at it and best of luck!
I finally have the confidence and mindset to actually give it a chance. I have 84 subscribers right now and I'm so grateful for that!! Trying to keep up with the consistency is so worth it. This was so helpful!!! Success is coming all of our ways!!!!
I made a video that just blew up and got 200k + views in less than a month, and though i was just recording what i do for work. That’s proof that anyone can do it! Good video 🎉🎉
These are my favorite videos to watch right now because I JUST started my youtube channel. Watching this is very encouraging and helps me see the more realistic side of things but at the same time it gets me more and more excited for the views I get. Thank you for sharing!
just a suggestion, based off an experiment with another guy recently, try doing a short a day that links back to your long form vids as well as some that are "teasers" for your upcoming vids. not much time to that at all and you drive more traffic back to your long form content and puts people on alert to your upcoming vids. I obviously don't have much interest, for hopefully obvious reasons, in your content itself but I love your flow, grind and enthusiasm. definitely subscribing just out of curiosity. I love watching new channels grow. im an analytics NUT!! haha keep up the great work!
I saw a video recently telling people not to make shorts if you want to focus on long form content (short subscribers won’t be interested in the long form stuff) but I feel like for my niche anyway the people that see my shorts would be interested in the long form stuff too 🤔 what do you think?
Absolutely loved this!! Congrats on getting monetized and such great earnings for your first couple months. Also that phone tripod thing is a game changer I needddd that for b roll omg!!
Thank you so much!! And omg I literally use it every day, even for things like watching youtube videos when I’m cooking or eating ahhaha it is amazinggg
congrats on your huge milestone!! I'm here 10 months after u posted this and can see you gained almost 10k subs since then!! That is so awesome you go girl!
I just subscribed to your channel and it was because of your beautiful video. Thank you, u inspired me not to be controlled by fear. I’m starting my own UA-cam channel today and I’m confident that’s it’s going to be a major success, and I’m going to be able to look back at your video as what gave me that little extra nudge I needed to spring into action 😊
Almost a year into mine (but I will admit, staying consistent was a bit hard with all that had been happening in my personal life) but I'm finally in a place where I can post consistently! It's been a month of having an actual schedule and I've started seeing improvement in the views and subscribers. It's honestly such an exciting journey! Holding thumbs you get to 3k before the end of this year!❤
The UA-cam journey is not always easy - that is for sure. But if you take this young lady's advice YOU CAN DO IT! Pushing through the downs, and there will be downs, is the key. You have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and get your content out there while trying to improve. Congrats on your success Rebekah.
I see you're still doing well on youtube, love to see it! This video was very informative, I started my channel a month ago and I've already got 2k watch hours before 5000 subs, I really hope I can get monetized too soon!

It takes time to improve and learn things, giving yourself that time without too much harsh criticism is just smart. Though it is not bad to make mistakes, that is also called 'failing forward'. Very informative! Thank you! Watching this video is still keeping me motivated with my own UA-cam channel!☺️ I love your videos & I hope you also had a great & safe thanksgiving! 🦃🫶🏼
Hi I am a new Creator, I finally pushed myself and started recording. I am so happy you have come a far way since u posted this video 😮❤ It’s definitely a sign
This is super great and helpful Rebekah! Thanks for giving the insight, and the truthful and candid overview of your earnings. So great to see, and very inspiring. Hugs! Be well! Ps. You must be doing soooo incredibly well by now, having 11K Subs!
Thank you so much! I have 85 subscribers now and was feel so low that probably my content lacks something.. but you have given my hope and determination to keep going ! ❤
You have a new subscriber in me. :) What made me subscribe is your openness, transparency about the hardships, and the fact that you reply to all the comments you get. This video was really valuable info for me and also deeply encouraging so thankyou for making it. I'm creating a UA-cam channel for parodies/satires/spoofs of well known songs. It's my goal to post my first video by July this year. I have started recording myself singing but there are many times when I experience self doubt/imposter syndrome around my abilities. We can't give up though. It's not easy but we can't throw in the towel even though that inner critic voice gets strong. I have a couple questions for you. What program do you use to edit your videos? and how do you get so consistent in making the videos so quickly (one a week)? Given my energy levels that seems impossible for me. Many thanks x
Awee welcome!!! So so glad you’re here. That’s so exciting you are wanting to start a channel. I definitely dealt with imposter syndrome a ton!! It goes away the more videos you make. James clear wrote “consistency enlarges ability” and I think that is so true. I use final cut pro to edit but i started on imovie which is free. As for consistency and energy levels, i 10000% feel that- i am tired all the time. I think I stay consistent because I want it so bad. I made a list of my “why” for doing this and that helps push me. I also stay consistent because I’ve chosen to prioritize this and give up other things such as hanging out with friends and having a social life LOL. I can’t do it all and I’m willing to make sacrifices at this moment. Wishing you the BEST!!🤍
The parody channel sounds like a great idea, hopefully you make a start with it as soon as you're ready for it. (or maybe just fake being ready) Also, to both of you: Please don't give up your social life, you can be very consistant and plan around it. Not having any life besides work, even if it is your passion, is just not great for both your mental health, or your physical health eventually. I've seen so many super dedicated, really talented content creators get burnouts, or depression and that stuff can take years to recover from. Work hard, but make sure you do other stuff as well that gives you joy.
UA-cam recommended this video and I'm glad they did! Really do hope your channel grows Rebekah as it's plain to see your passion you have for it. Looking forward to the ride 😁
Same here, I don't know why I was recommended this, maybe google knows more than I do. Still, it was an interesting watch. Great to see the perspective of someone who is somewhere on the beginning part of the monetization climb. (not a total beginner, but not a huge channel either)
Thanks for sharing this video and congratulations. We are working on the same thing. At about 500 subscribers now. Our channel mostly focuses on car care and the vehicles coming through our auto appearance shop. Hopefully we can get there. Thanks for the inspiration and good luck on your journey.
Thank you, I'm always sceptical if my journal on UA-cam will ever succeed to monetize. However, this video gives me the motivation to continue. Thank you.
Just hit 2000 subs too. Likewise my RPM is low. Going to research how to increase now. Maybe more ads in each video, but don’t want to affect retention. Thanks for the video.
Oh yeah, ive been wanting to start for 14years...i remember i posted a video back in 2010 and when someone said they saw me on youtube i brought it down...well, we are back. Thanks gor the insight. Keep up ✌♥👊
Hello from Ukraine! Thank you so much for such a motivating video!!!! I only have 300 subscribers and I’m at the beginning of my journey although I created the channel 3 years ago. as soon as I want to quit, I remember the words: it could just be one video away..
That is so true! You got this!! And don’t be afraid to try new things (editing style, camera angle, thumbnails, etc) and see what sticks!! Wishing you the best!!!
I really appreciate the pep-talk to start a youtube channel if someone has the passion to do so. My biggest issues are not fearing the camera, or the negative feedback or any of the things you mentioned like self-doubt. My issues are that I really don't like video editing and would be extremely bored having to do that quite a lot. The other thing is that I don't have enough leftover time currently to do a youtube project on the side and not be completely overworked. For it to take 2 years or maybe more before you finally make some money is just crazy long, let alone be able to live off it (or at least provide enough to be able to work less on other things) At the end of the day, even if you're passionate about something, this is still work. Working requires energy and you only have so much of it. To fully enjoy being a youtube creator for a living, I would need a video editor, I would need full monetization and enough views and subscribers to make whatever is uploaded generate enough income for both the editor and myself. I just don't see it happen without a seriously long amount of time of being able to live off savings.
UA-cam is definitelyyy a long game so I completely understand that!! 🫶🏼🫶🏼 it can be hard to wait and make time for it, but I am all for prioritizing and going after the things we’re passionate about 😊
@@rebekahjoy I fully understand your point and your position. I think you are on a correct course and should follow that through to whatever lies in its future. However, I just wanted to point out the perspective of someone that has serious commitments running. Things that can't be put un a lower priority as it would risk the financial stability of my household. If I were still single and in a position to take a few financial hits and grind through a 2 year period of doing work I cannot enjoy to get to a better situation after it, this would certainly be an option. In my position though, the road to get there is simply incompatible with my life and too risky financially and too taxing mentally. (due to the risk of getting overworked if I'd combine it with my existing 2 jobs) Thanks for taking the time to comment, I hope I made my case clear enough as an example why *not* to do it, as you clearly make a case to how it can work, which is important and admirable.
Thank you SO much to everyone who’s subscribed and helping me reach my goals here on youtube. You mean the world to me!

Same here, I don't know why I was recommended this, maybe google knows more than I do. Still, it was an interesting watch. Great to see the perspective of someone who is somewhere on the beginning part of the monetization climb. (not a total beginner, but not a huge channel either)

Thank you for tips😊,i start my youtube chanel yesterday
Congrats!!! Best of luck!
Just hit 2000 subs too. Likewise my RPM is low. Going to research how to increase now. Maybe more ads in each video, but don’t want to affect retention. Thanks for the video.
Possibly longer videos and I think a lot of it has to do with the topic of the video!! For instance finance videos have a lot higher of an RPM
This gives me hope ❤️ I started my channel in December 2023

That is so true! You got this!! And don’t be afraid to try new things (editing style, camera angle, thumbnails, etc) and see what sticks!! Wishing you the best!!!

Ahh I’m so proud of you! The hardest part is starting 🫶🏼🫶🏼 so glad this video helps
thank you for the help! john
Glad it was helpful!
For it to take 2 years or maybe more before you finally make some money is just crazy long, let alone be able to live off it (or at least provide enough to be able to work less on other things)
At the end of the day, even if you're passionate about something, this is still work.
(due to the risk of getting overworked if I'd combine it with my existing 2 jobs)
Thanks for taking the time to comment, I hope I made my case clear enough as an example why *not* to do it, as you clearly make a case to how it can work, which is important and admirable.
If you're reading this, do not keep up, we can get through this and hopefull we get monetized & success! Tq for Sharing, love from Malaysia ❤
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the video!
