Fast version: Metal
Slow version: Brutal polka
ska
For those who aren't confident:
These aren't hard
you just gotta slow them down at first :)
patience and practice you'll be surprised how fast you'll em
thanks
Yes I often think that something is way too difficult for me but when playing drum, the key (other than technique) is really to play everything new at 50 (or below !) BPM to memorize the pattern. And just speed up when you master a certain BPM till you get there :)
GO BEGINNERS METAL DRUMMERS, YOU CAN DO IT (I'll try those next week :) )
yes that's very true drum fills and grooves aren't extremely hard you just have to practice a lot and do them slowly. I'd say the hardest part is being patient and being consistent.
Has anyone else noticed that the sheet music doesn't always match up with what he's actually play. . .
Yea lol
he doesn't know how to notate what he is playing
No. because I cant read sheet music
First thing I noticed
Can you point out where? I know in early Drumeo videos they notated snare on the middle line and tom 2 where snare normally is. I'm not seeing any discrepancies between what he's playing and what's written based on their notation except he doesn't always play every eighth note on the ride cymbal during the actual beat before the fills.
That is a beautiful fucking kit I love the purple
Andrew Eldridge I was thinking the same thing
Didn't know Wil Wheaton was a drummer too.
Easily one of the best tutorials I've ever seen, thank you Sean Lang
Totally gonna try this out. Keep posting fill ins I love them!
Your kit got the perfect heavy tune!! love it.
Love the tone of your kit!
That kit looks and sounds absolutely beautiful
Sounds nice, but why don't you play the eights on the ride when you play the fast version?
Haha he is no dave lombardo
@@anishkhadka9400 It's really not that hard once you get used to it
Such a beautiful kit
Gracias sean Lang,me han servido mucho estos ejercicios! Eres un gran baterista !
so smooth xD you are amazing Sean Lang!
love your snare tone
I really liked the use of the ride in that last fill. I'm gonna try that sometime!
those toms sound so perfect
can you please make more of these! using different styles, i love these ones, and am learning to inqorperate it into my own style, more fills please! i have the hardest time with making fills and fitting them in!
Haha I'm a guitarist, singer bla bla everything but a drummer. Still the tone of that kit is incredible. And I'm even more impressed by your perfect timing. You're like a fucking machine!
2020, recordando esta lección de fills. 😎
Awesome snare sound i love it.
Sweeeeet! I love the last two! Cheers Sean.
Epic play!
great vid once again again! thanks guysyou help a lot
Such a dope video, thank you!
Cool fills brother..... really impressed
I don't even play drums, I just love the videos these guys put out.
I learned to do a lot of these types of fills from Mike Portnoys instructional video. but you do some really sick fills here, like Ex. 3 and 5. Those were so cool.
Awesome! Love it dude.
he hits quarter notes on the ride but at the sheet it says eight notes :|
The Hammerblast fill is really kool sounding!
YES! you guys are like the biggest contributors to the drum teaching world
Excelentes ejercicios !
WOW..thanks. good info!
Good video, thanks
i love that ride.
"I am going to go through all exercises both slow and fast."
150 BPM is too fast for me can you slow it down to like 5 bpm?
How incredible...
Muy buenos ejercicios, excelente !
Nice! Thanks!
the last two really awesomely groove :DDDDD
Sean Lang's lessons are great; I'm loving playing the videos next to my kit.
However, did anyone notice that in the 210 BPM sets he played the ride at half speed?
Sweet snare tone
I love learning these. Still can't quite play them up to speed but I'm getting close.
Nice triggers
WE NEED MORE METAL LESSONS!
thank u.
Holy Crap! Thanks! this is very very helpfull:)
wow una jodida locura !!! ¡¡ que tremendo nivel carajo ! 😎🤘
hey you are awsome drummer !!!!! nice man !!!!!
when playing fast triplets does one hold the drum sticks as you normally would hold them? just resting on four fingers?
Sounds really cool! Especially #5. I'm hust not sure that polka rhythm is really used often in heavy metal?
I definitely like number 1 and 5, throwing the ride cymbal on number 5 kinda reminds me of some of Joey Jordison's fills like the last 30 seconds of the song Three Nil.
Yes finally!
Is sean still in drumeo? This dude rocks!
my thoughts exactly
Can you please show us some odd time metal grooves? Or can you make a video how to do a metal drum solo.
I found the instructions very clear and very easy to follow. Perhaps you need to go back to the beginner section of the metal fills....
What ride is that? it sounds gorgeous
i like the first fill only
the 5th one was made to play on a bell, it would sound awesome
Insane
last fill was the most interesting one
Hi. My favorite fill is Fill Collins.
I would like to ask if you own double bass pedals or two bass drums. It is almost completely different than single bass.
ex 2 sounds beast
#3 really needs more kick during the fill
break it down to a really slow tempo, like as slow as you can go, make sure you get every part, and slowly build it up. Works everytime :)
goddam you play so relaxed and good at the same time haha :D
Would it have killed you to play 8th notes with your right hand at 210bpm like the sheet music says?
I looooooovvvveee that metal Intro of that Video :D xD
i know for a fact that its the ec2 clear bc i have the same head but i was wondering what the bottom head is..
I've had kits with double pedals, with two bass drums, and now I went back to using single pedal because:
1. It's easier to setup and transport.
2. With a bit of practice you can do almost everything using double strokes with your foot (other than straight up 150 bpm 16th note double bass patterns).
3. I don't think that the benefits of playing double bass exceeds or even rivals the time and energy needed to master it and stay in shape.
Wow👍
are the mics being ducked by the kick trigger?? is that a thing?
Hey Sean. I need help, I've been playing Drums for around a year now and whenever I use my kick pedal my hands move at the same speed as my foot. Please could you help :)
Какую педаль используют в этом видео? 🤔
The rack toms look like G2 clear, the floor is the ECS2 clear with SST, the snare sounds like a G2 coated but I could be wrong on that one. No clue on the kick.
Last I checked Iron Maiden were still active and releasing albums. Anyway, you are quite beside the point here, I am stating the fact that you can create satisfying grooves in metal with a single pedal. If you know what you're doing you can even create the illusion of a double bass grooves by playing in off beat 16ths between hi-hats and bass and stuff like that. If you want to cover a song that was recorded with double bass tho, you're gonna need double bass.
what is the resonant head for the 16 inch tom?
Can you do one for airdrummers?
I think by advanced he meant ways to lay out drum fills. Like, instead of just going from the snare to the tom to the next tom, you can incorporate the hi-hat and ride as well as go back from the toms to the snare again or vice versa. He also shows using the kick in his fills. I think that's what his point was when putting, "advanced."
good
I think the kick is a EQ 3 clear. I noticed a D Drum trigger, he wouldn't be able to use the trigger with an EMAD.
Never heard of Casey Drums...is it a Custom drum shop??
I'd love to see these trick pedal dbl bass users be surprised with something mid grade like iron cobras I'm curious how much it increase your ability, me myself have never owned trick pedals I have sum upper mid tier pearl dbl pedals I can match his speed with my normal pedals, very much want pedals like these.
awesome. can someone link me a vido on how how to actually get my hands moving that dast. thats my main problem
Ioads of practice is the main thing
Waaaaait, is the left foot on a different space\line????
hoooooooly shit, the colour of the kit is so badasssssssss
holy shit man that floor tom sound is AMAZINGG , how did you set it ??
with sound editing
Looks like it is tuned down to e
CVan someone tell me the song at the start?
tu pa,, tu pa,, tu pa,, tu pa tururururururu pa tsss!
love that sound!
where do I download the sheet music?
hey what drum heads are those?
you won the internet ! =) =D
Can someone say me what are the tom's drumhead ???????????????' THOSE SOUNDS AWESOME
Those sounds are highly edited with a program.
What kind of set is that?
Look up the notes on the internet, you'll find them in a second. These notes are the most basic ones you can have, so you'll learn in 30 minutes.
Drum notes only has metal-notes (the x-notes), note-values and time-singnatures (which are a little more complicated) and pauses -
- whereas melodic insturuments has all the above PLUS tones (pure tone, half-tone, false tone etc), connected notes, key-signatures (in two factions; Major and minor) and lots of other stuff.
Good video and good video edition jsjsja
What's the into's song name?
