Thanks for sharing the Black Throated Grey Warbler - never seen before. The little Hummingbird was cute, In NJ we only see Ruby Throat. A Freind & I rescue songbirds that hit the glass skyscrapers in Newark NJ during migration, TRT made a video named
'Window Strikes in the Business District' of us picking up injured Warblers. In Newark most songbirds that hit the glass skyscrapers perish on impact, or when fall to the cement pavement. TRT nurses the injured back to health.

I've spent a lot of time in Ontario and Alberta where ruby-throat are the main if not only hummingbird species. What is really amazing here is the abundance ... Seems like any thicket of shrubs has one flying around. They seek to really like salmonberry, a type of upright raspberry.
That is a great program. Calgary has one too. Building collision mortality is so sad.

@@SeantheBioBro Sounds beautiful with so many hummingbirds. Nice to know salmonberry is the type of raspberry they love - I need to look that up - thanks

I'd like to thank you for the map in particular. Being geographically challenged (and not being from the area) it really helps me to have an idea of the environs.

I' started hearing Black-Throated Gray Warblers in April 30th in my neighborhood park. With my naked eye I can see them hopping around in the maple trees but, every time I lift my binoculars, they're gone. Here (just north of Seattle) they are the first warblers to move through. I get so excited when I hear their song each spring. 10:19 Is that a Hermit or Swainson's Thrush? Swainson's is another species I REALLY look forward to each spring. I've seen a local report but not seen or heard any myself this year.

Hey Linda! They never stop moving! I love warblers and it was a treat to see one. I remember flipping through bird guides and thinking it'd be cool to see one someday! Finally, bingo!
Do you get hermit warbler? That would be a cool species to see but we are juusst out of its range here.
As for the thrush, to be honest, I didn't put a label on it because I wasn't 100%. I've only seen and heard (confirmed) hermit thrush so far, but it did look a bit more olive-gray. Though when it flies, I think you can see the rufous tail. I'd say hermit, but it's a 'look-up' shot and I did not get binoculars on that bird.

@@SeantheBioBro I've never seen a Hermit Warbler, I don't know if I'm in their range or not. It seems early for Swainson's Thrush and I agree there was rufous showing as your bird flew away so it probably was Hermit.

Congratulations on your lifer black-throated gray warblers! I love how you’d basically reached the point of saying, well, gotta go, I guess I won’t be getting any footage of them, and then, bam! They reward you by coming out. :-) I’ve had experiences like that so many times when birding.
Migrants have been coming through down my way (Santa Barbara County, California). I saw my first-of-the-year Swainson’s hawk last week, and yesterday saw a bird I’d been looking for and failing to find for a while: Cassin’s vireo.
Thanks for the great content. I really enjoy the excellent sound recording you include, the way you feature vocalizations of the birds and then show the species we’ve been hearing.

Thanks so much! I was lucky after lots of waiting. In hindsight, I think I will limit the multi place ventures, just to have a more time to get footage.
I recently heard a Cassin's for the first time. They seem to stay pretty high up and concealed!!

@@SeantheBioBro Yeah, it was challenging for me to get a look at one. I'd heard what I believe was them a few times, but I wanted visual confirmation. Finally got lucky at a business park with some smallish tipuana trees, where the canopy where the bird was foraging wasn't too high.

Man those new world warblers are so much prettyer than our warblers in my opinion, but maybe thats just because I see them often and you may think the other way around about that.

Well to be fair I have never seen an opd world warbler but it's hard to beat Parulidae! Lots to love about them.
