I find it so fun when all the common birds "count" again at the start of the year! The gull guide is in my cart as soon and shipping resumes after the postal strike. Gulls are one of my 2025 "needs improvement" areas also!
Hawkins, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR to you. All the best wishes to you in this year’s birding adventures. May your year be filled with safety, joy, and prosperity.
My husband and I started watching your show recently and really enjoy it along with Bright-eyed birding. Loved the new show with you two together. W are in Idaho but would love to come to Utah and see your birds.
@HawkInTheLens Jordan went to a place in Idaho that we haven't been to near Twin Falls where he saw a saw-whet owl and several neat woodpeckers. We are going to try to go there this summer. Maybe we'll see you there. Keep up the good work. 😁
@roosterbirds Merrit Island NWR mainly. We did a brief sea watch at Canaveral National Seashore and got a few gulls + long tailed duck at the causeway before the refuge. It took literally all day; before sunrise to just before sunset
Brilliant channel, love your enthusiasm and growing knowledge, lovely to see the birds I am unfamiliar with being based in the UK. Keep up the great work.
Fantastic video Hawkin! I think I might have to join you on improving my Gull ID, I find them so difficult 😅 amazing to see the Coyote too! A big novelty for us watching from the UK 😀
I think that might have been a downy woodpecker rather than a tawny. It had the black cap and red splash on the far back of the head. But a neat sighting and some great footage nonetheless.
@@HawkInTheLensI saw a Roadrunner last week in Texas (south of Amarillo) and a coyote in Minnesota in October. I don't have the software or skill to meld the pictures together. :)
Excellent video! 🌸This is great! Awesome! 🌏🌏🌏👍✨

Gulls and a few other tough ones like certain sparrows and shorebirds I’m really trying to nail this year
On New Year’s Eve I saw two snowy owls which was amazing!
That’s incredible! A sighting you will remember for a while I’m sure
W video. Such a great day of birding and an amazing way to start off 2025!
Hard to beat starting off the new year with birding that’s for sure
So many cool birds, especially the hawks!
Yeah they were pretty sweet!
Nice video, happy new year! The slow pace allowed me to practice my ID skills, like with the American Pipit, the gulls, and waterfowl.
Very nice! Even I have to work on it sometimes. It’s much easier when I have a 4K video to stare at haha

What an awesome adventure! Can't wait for the rest of 2025!
Even bigger moments to come this year that’s for sure
Happy New Year! Nice idea to start off 2025! Thanks for sharing your video.
Thanks for watching!
That is a great start to 2025, that Downy Woodpecker was sweet. Have a nice one.
I love seeing woodpeckers. They are making a claim for my favorite bird
Nice start to 2025, good luck with the rest of the year, mine was a slow start, but at -30°C I will take the 7 species I've seen so far in 2025. 🇨🇦
I’ve heard a bunch from my Canadian friends that they have had a frigid start to the year 🥶 Hope you can get out and look for more birds soon
Happy New Year! I hope you find more neat birds this year.
Me too! Hope you spot some awesome birds in 2025 too
👍👍👍84 Enjoy watching from Toronto Canada 🫶🇨🇦❄️
Good stuff guyz🤓
Nice start to 2025. Happy New Year, Hawkin!
Happy New Year to you as well!

0:19 and start the year off strong I did. Me and a couple friends did a big day and got 130 species. I'm never beating that anytime soon
Where were you able to get 130 species in one day? That's crazy!

That’s a seriously incredible day. Wow!

It is super cool to get exposure to birds around the world. I hope to return to Europe someday to bird

They are such a tough group I think many people are in the same group with gulls. And glad I could share something special for you!
👌👍🙂

Oh I thought I said Downy in the video. That’s definitely what it is I’m not even sure what a Tawny Woodpecker is
Were there any ACME crates near the coyote?
Haha no. And no roadrunners either
