    Hi Alex, Thanks for you interest in my video. The 4 knobs on the top of the (keyboard side) of the melodeon are for changing the tone or the number of reed blocks playing. With 4 stops pulled up you have the full sound of the melodeon Bass, 2xTenor and Treble sounds. The fewer stops on the melodeon, (some have 3 stops and others only 2 stops) then the less full or quieter the sound. The spoons on the left hand side give the bass note and bass chord.     Why are most of the old melodians in the Key of C? Was that a more common 100 years ago?

      With the key of C you can play almost every tune possible very popular with one row accordions
