That seems to be an issue in many states. I lived in Florida (not from there originally) and the northerners like to say "well we did it this way in .." "well, if you liked it so much, why did you leave?" I have lived in Michigan, Texas, Florida and now East Tennessee. Like the old saying goes... When in Rome... Do as the Romans do.

@@313girl5the thing about Wyoming, it's so ironic, a huge amount of residents are from somewhere else. Transient state, most came for jobs and leave as soon as employment is over. The reason the came for jobs, is the resident left.

Great Wyoming humor! My dad was a real cowboy from Wyoming. When he met my mom, who was a nurse in Cody and Canadian, his earthly possessions were a car, saddle and two guns. I was born in Laramie, 1957, and we lived there until I was five and then moved to Oregon. My dad always complained how unfriendly people were in Oregon. I think it was because people are so much more friendly in Wyoming - I am toying with the idea of retiring there. The last time I was in Laramie, August 2012, the air was pristine!!!

I have lived in Wyoming for 41 years. That's almost my whole life. If you want to live in Wyoming you better have a job here before you move. Much of what you said is true but there's more than that. I have witnessed people moving here and a couple years later moving back to where they came from. A lot of it is they sell their homes and buy a house here only to not have a job that will make a living. Most Wyoming property isn't cheap anymore. Wyoming is a big conservative state. Move here and try changing our ways doesn't work. We think nothing about traveling long distance to shop. Wyomingnite love being the least populated state. If you're not into the outdoors you won't have much entertainment. Because of current politics the job situation won't get better either. Wyoming is now hurting financially. Workers rights are practically none existing here. Wyoming has always been that way. We have lots of natural resources but everyone now wants to go green. This is all facts that anyone can research themselves. I'm your neighbor to the west of you. Buffalo. Great location but not easy make a living here. We're just about as expensive as Jackson. Great advice and video!

I am a disabled veteran Federal retiree currently suffering under the incredible heat of the Great Sonoran Desert in Southwest Arizona. Wyoming is one of the top places on my list to retire. Your list was humorous, but also listed great reasons for me to move there. I am a native Minnesotan, so winter is not a problem. As an animal lover and former K-9 handler, I would love to be out "in the boonies" as we say here, and the wide open prairie and mountains. Your podcast is fantastic, and I thank you for that. I would love to consider Wyoming as my next home. Thank you.

Home is where the heart is! Changing your location, doesn’t change you, your baggage travels with you. Wyoming is a 4-season state. To get along here, you gotta get along! Wyoming is a safe state. Everyone carry’s a tool called a pistol, or rifle! We do not need a permit to do so loaded or unloaded, concealed, or in plain site! Our lives and those of our friends and loved ones come FIRST! We don’t have mass murdering, or killing spree’s here In Wyoming it is best to keep your opinion’s to yourself, unless you have done it, or experienced what you want to elaborate on, hearsay doesn’t cut it here! We respect our woman, children, and friends. We help each other, and watch each other’s back. Wyoming is the way America use to be. If that pleases you, then welcome, if you want to lie, cheat, steel, kill, act a FOOL, and live off the backs of hard working Patriots who love this country, stay where you are! I was born and raised here in Wyoming. There’s things I love about it and things I hate. One of those things is the common mistreatment towards people with autism, whether it’s subtle or not-so-subtle. I was bullied at my last 3 jobs and all through my entire life as a kid and teenager because of it. Coming from a poor family that’s in no way associated with the coal mines, rich ranchers and business owners sure didn’t help the situation either. Also, we are among the top 10 states with the most amount of sex offenders per capita. For so many people that claim to be “friendly Christians” in this state, I sure feel like it’s the complete opposite.

Wyoming is beautiful! We have buffalo here in Oklahoma on our prairies. I have no doubt I could be a good neighbor and I love Nature and beauty but your state is to cold for me. A lot of people here (including myself) can hardly deal with the heat and humidity of our summers. I think so many are wanting to escape the cities and find land again for survival. I have noticed all of the acreage around here is getting bought up too! I live on 10 acres in the country with not one neighbor on my mile road. That could be changing if the big land owners around me start selling. At any rate, fortunately we both have Republican Governors and I feel I am very blessed after seeing what is happening in the Dem run states.

Truth be told, another reason to not move to Wyoming, the economy.
All of the good paying jobs are reserved for the locals. It’s all about who you know, who your mom and dad know, and who your grandparents and great grandparents knew.
In general there are not a lot of employment opportunities for locals let alone outsiders. Many of the locals live below the poverty level. If you are considering moving to Wyoming, only do so if you are financially secure and do not need employment.

Im in northern BC and people from Vancouver are moving up here in droves and bringing their weirdo ideas with them!! I hear ya sister when you say these things. Ive been saying the same stuff about my area. Fit in or dont move here. Tree huggers moving to a logging based town is a bit much, granola bars and moose meat dont belong on the same plate!! I got in an argument with one of them feeding our wild foxes so they could get some pictures and their response? " There isnt a sign saying we cant feed them".....needless to say I lost it. Its very frustrating when people move to your area and try to change your lifestyle, why did they move if they love their ways so much? Sorry for venting but thankyou for the great video:)

Very Nice Video! Really makes me think of what it was like growing up in Northern Arizona and Southern Nevada in the 1950s and 1960s and was Ok up to about the 80s when I would return. Really like #3 being a pro 2A and constitution originalist -why change what is not broken? Your talk about neighbors is so true that in areas where it is remote and sparse you help each other even if you don't really agree with someone you help them when they need it It does sadden me to hear that people are moving there not to become Wyoming residents, but just to escape the world they already changed. When I moved back to Nevada I did not anticipate 3 years later beginning to realize I was almost in CA again. And unfortunately, Idaho is already being overrun and pricing many of us out especially as retirees. The snow and winter does concern me if we relocated now in our later years. However, the beauty and quiet even with the wind must be fine! As far as cowboy goes, rodeos and lever actions are part of the west and my life for sure. One thing I appreciate even in Nevada was driving out into the desert again and being able to see the Milky Way and all those stars. Thanks again and hope your 1 year residency requirements and strong weather keeps your state just as it is. Have a blessed New Year!

Our family moved to Saratoga in the early 1960s. Great place to be a kid at the time. Dad got a job with a firm based in Tulsa,OK in 1966 that was putting in a natural gas storage cavern south of the Sinclair refinery, and in 1967 we moved to Iowa. For a cpuple of winters in Saratoga he was a hunting guide, and not a bad hunter either- in the winter, if we wanted meat it was antelope, mule deer or elk. Summer Sundays were for fishing for brook trout in the Snowy Range, or out on the lake east of town.

We have all these city slickers that have moved here from LA and the Bay area and all they do is complain and want to change things. I say go back to where you came from this is my town and my parents, and my grandparents, and my great grandparents town. We were all here first, farming crops and fruit trees, and having cattle, and Dairies. I feel like you do about your State about my town. August 25, 2019 we spent the night in our RV in Gillette, Wy. OMG talk about a storm! Lightning, rain and WIND! We thought for sure the RV was going to blow over! Unfortunately we were parked where the wind hit us broadside. It was about 30-40 mins of terror! The next morning the street signs were bent over. A keep was lying on its side. So yes, storms can be fierce. However the beauty of Wyoming shows you just how wonderful God is. My relatives are mostly in Montana and have the same 10 points as you Sandi and for the same reasons.

@@suburbanhomesteaderwy-az Mhm, houses are getting a wee bit expensive, but rent is still relatively fair, at least in the complex I'm in(the garage apartment I've lived in for a year has been nice). As I've lived here for a while now, I have had less of a incentive to buy a house even amidst the pandemic, at least at a premium atm, due to recognizing that stability comes from within(and learning how to build equity within yourself), and you don't need gold or silver to enter into the forests and mountains of the great outdoors and wilderness. I hope some of the wealthy individuals as well as others from out of state will eventually recognize that and see the true meaning of the state, at least for me. If you are able to experience the wind, wilderness, mountains, and forests, I don't feel like I will have any regrets if I ever choose to move elsewhere since I will have enjoyed the state despite not getting a pricey house
