- The 2013 movie documentary by Producer/Director Regina Rene, is a full-length feature film narrating the bittersweet legacy of one of Gospel music's greatest singing groups -- the treasured Chicago trio known as The Barrett Sisters. Considered the world's greatest gospel trio, for over 6 decades siblings Delois, Billie and Rodessa Barrett thrilled audiences around the globe with their honey-voiced harmonies bringing the uniquely American art form of Gospel music to nations on nearly every continent. Named American Goodwill Ambassadors during the 1980s, the singing sisters were gospel music royalty; touring the world more than 50 times, they brought sell-out crowds to their feet as the gospel music act for many a Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland); and stole the show in 1982's classic documentary film "Say Amen, Somebody." New York film critic Pauline Kael described them as "dramatic, physically striking women with ample figures in shiny blue gowns...they sing so exhilaratingly that they create a problem." And of DeLois Barret Campbell, the Chicago Tribune's Howard Reich declared: "She was the mightiest voice of the greatest female trio in Gospel".
In the film, (touted by Reich as "a moving evocation of their journey") DeLois and her younger siblings Billie Barrett GreenBey and Rodessa Barrett Porter come together after DeLois receives a mysterious package at her door. It is a gift from an anonymous fan who has crafted together a
scrapbook of their remarkable career dating back to the 1940's. They begin to reminisce about the past, sharing their triumphs, disappointments, accomplishments and their personal lives with a 4th "Sister" -- film producer Regina Rene. This is all woven together with amazing live performance footage from Europe's Montreux Jazz Festival, Chicago's Jubilee Showcase, Bill Gaither Productions and many more.
Its craftsmanship and heartrending feeling is what makes this unique film arguably one of the best compilations on the Gospel music genre spanning more that 60 years!

INDEED the BARRETT SISTERS are the "SWEET SISTERS of ZION". I truly Love them and their singing. They were not about "showing off", but they LOVED singing to the GLORY of JESUS CHRIST!

Jean Jean hi, I ordered this dvd from amazon....the producer sells it on there as well as their website....I do not know the sisters personally...however I’ve seen a few clips of them singing on their fan page on facebook

5 Stars! If you are a fan of the Barrett Sisters, the DVD “The Sweet Sisters of Zion: Delois Barrett Campbell & The Barrett Sisters” should be in your collection! It is an awe inspiring journey of their musical life told beautifully in their own words. It includes fabulous music, great photos and video clips, and in-depth interviews with these super-talented ladies. At the time of this writing, the DVD is currently unavailable on Amazon. Oh now I'm so sad, they came to New Zealand and I was too young to know who they were and so I missed them ;.-(
