    Proud of the Welsh lads. You can see the passion. I would trust no one more to do this vital job. I love the 747. Flew on them twice, when those engines hit full power, there is no other plane like it.

    The "Clean Sea Policy", is a good policy. You Put it there, you clean it up. If everyone did that with their trash on land and at sea, we would have a much better, healthier and cleaner planet. It like when i go camping, when I leave, nobody will know i was ever there.

    What a great documentary! This was such a privilege to see, it’s great to know that BA still maintains a strong safety working ethic to ensure passengers have a comfortable trustworthy flight. Sadly, the attitude of some people leaves them unable to fully understand or appreciate why this level of strict code & conduct is so vital in our society.
    Thanks for doing this fine documentary

      They actually did a poor job explaining how this system works, for instance they didn't mentioned the pressure differential, and that's why it sucks the outside air like a vacuum.

    It's so sad the 747 has ceased being manufactured. It's so true when they say, they don't build them like that anymore, when it comes to the 747!! I would rather fly in and feel more safer in the 747. No matter what country you live in, if you got to work with this incredible machine you must be so proud to have been part of a legend!!

    The guy looks shocked at how much it will cost Shell to remove the oil rig. What's he a stakeholder? Shell put it there, they should have to remove it... Also, the fact that they wanted to just dump it in the ocean is bonkers. Then the guy was like "I don't think we explained it very well". No, you explained it perfectly. Unbelievable. The fact that 70% of the oxygen we need to survive comes from the oceans and you just want to dump an oil rig in the middle of one is insane. How many oil rigs could you dump before it becomes a problem in Shell's eyes? 10?, 100?, 1,000??? Just insane.

    An inglorious end to such a mastodon. That almost always makes me feel bad. Because. After years of service and with some effort, this can often be continued for years to come. And what about economics. Destruction why. For even more beautiful, faster, etc etc. And certainly increasingly strict conditions such as the environment, safety and so on must be met. Then just scrap it. A serious, in-depth investigation often shows that adaptation to applicable norms and values is very well possible and therefore away from the demolition hammer!

      Not only are 747's from the Seventies still flying revenue, but I wonder how many people realize that Boeing 52's are still patrolling the Earth and protecting the USA and the Western Free world with an awesome weapon we pray will never be used, indeed that the terrible knowledge that the Earth's assured destruction will prevent the use of nuclear weapons. And that current B52's in use flew over seventy years ago. No new B 52 will ever built again, and this delivery system the Western World must rely upon another half-century of defense against maniacs.

This was a wonderful introduction to so many things I knew nothing about. so interesting ..... Ep 2. Unreal..... would sinking it cause a real problem? Great coverage ... so interesting. Ep 3 ..... This is one of my favorite documentaries ever..... While they were conducting lightning tests it brought back to my mind one evening flying into Rota, Spain aboard a US Navy P-3. Fairly clear weather and I was just behind the cockpit. I saw a HUGE FLASH of light and jumped into my seat ready to send an emergency message. When everyone’s eyes cleared all looked good except all my radios and radar wouldn’t work. We had taken a lightning strike. The discharge blew all the communications and radar systems. Outside the aircraft it looked like a handful of BB’s had been tack welded to the skin. On the opposite side of the aircraft at the tail on the horizontal stabilizer there was a hole big enough to put your fist thru. The skin metal had been vaporized where the discharge left the aircraft. Just another day in the Navy.

    I started work at 15 as an apprentice sheetmetal engineer, i did five years in a small sub contract aircraft factory in Coventry, all the little complicated bracketery units, and hatchway doors were hand made by us apprentices off drawings everything glued, holes hand drilled and riveted all overseen by a grumpy old gaffer who kept us on our toes ,and then all off to inspection,we even did work on the ill fated TSR 2 which was scrapped by the government of the day after millions of £s spent,lots of work on Concord, Bristol Britania,and various other aircraft,we even did work for Fokker air craft Germany.

    I think this is such a wonderful video. Very educational and inspiring. Some of the greatest minds in the world doing so much to keeping the world safe while traveling. I believe that the entire world should be free so that we can concentrate in producing more great minds so we can do great things as shown in this video. Pride in creating and producing is key to the most evolutionary ingenius ideas will make our world so much more enlightening and with the end results we all enjoy the fruits of our minds that God gave us all as the greatest gift a human can ever receive. And that's our minds. Such intelligent people in this video. Love it. Very inspiring. The idea 💡 of flying was the start of all this. The 747 Jumbo Jet is truly the most beautiful man made bird in the sky.

    I have a concern about a triple feed point of water into a thin sandwiched envelope. I hope that you make room for modifications to the unbelly of your new water plate to increase flow evenly across a plate that will now be expected to hold the heat and pressure of 20 million pounds of thrust instead of 17. I'm rooting for it not to fail even though I'm having doubts about how thin that water jacket has been engineered and manufactured.

      bet they have known a lot longer than you think...planes have always been far more regulated there are no "winter beaters" in the air once its reached its "hours" its decommissioned just like ups and fed x sell there trucks when the beancounters tell them new ones cost less than running the old ones planes cost a lot more and the number of beancounters is far higher compared to cars

    I took a ferry several times from Belgium to UK driving a motorbike. I love your coverage of the overhaul and also the scrapping yard and the steelworks at Mittal. At the time it was named Sidmar when I worked there. Makes a normal person feel very small because every normal measure seems squared. The train transporting the molten steel is 4 times bigger than a normal train. The entrance of the oven is about 20 or 30 meters high. All rusty and it feels like the entrance of hell.

    as i have understood bernuli's theory regarding lift on an airfoil be it wing or sail is that the abject is sucked not pushed ..so is my understanding incorrect are wings pushed into the air or sucked are boats pulled forward or are they pushed?

    • @RoySATX
      @RoySATX 2 роки тому +1

      I'm surprised so few people are mentioning this in the comments. My jaw dropped when he said it was the increase of pressure below the wing pushing the aircraft up. I've always been told this produces no lift whatsoever, that all lift is created from the decrease in pressure above the wing. I've personally assumed both worked in tandem to some degree, but as I'm just a layman and no engineer I've kept my opinion to myself. Now, after hearing this, I am even more skeptical of engineers and scientists. Not of science, mind you, but of the ists who claim to speak for science (the idiot Tony Fauci above all others).

    • @mobiousenigma
      @mobiousenigma 2 роки тому

      @@RoySATX it is not well explained anywhere i have come across it , as i see it without the partial vacuum caused by increased velocity there is no"lift" ....and to my logic vacuums do not push they suck
