The reason why Kobe Paras wasn't in the Gilas Team (Philippine Team) this recent years it's because of inconsistency. He was playing in the Japan B-League Division 1 last year where Dwight Ramos played for. But this year he's in Division 2. Hope he gets back his form so that we can see him back in Gilas Team. Also check his Highlights in BLIA Cup 2019 where he was named MVP that time if you are interested.
That's why kobe begged off cuz he knew that if he play inconsistent games he get criticize again. I know he wants to play for the NT but I guess he's tired of criticism that's why he begged off. Look at the Ravena bros. they get criticized due to their instant plays.
There's a lot of diversity in the Philippines, This is how I explain it ( this is just my own explaination alright) there are the Mestizo's (people that has Spanish blood,, but was born and raised in the Philippines), there are those Half Filipino and Half foreign people like ( Lebron Lopez, Norwood, Pringle, Parks, Wright, Stanhandiger, Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green) some of them was born and grew up in the Philippines while some of them grew up in the states/ or Europe. , the Malay and the Moreno people like Terrence Romeo, Kai Sotto. Aguilar, Castro ( although I think he's mixed, but he grew up in the Philippines) and Abueva. People like Blatche, Austin, Kouame are ( Naturalized Filipino) and they were given citizenship by the Filipino Goverment. Now I know Kobe Paras is 3/4 Filipino. his mother Jackie Forster ( although was born and raised in the Philippines is Half White) while his dad is Full Filipino and a Basketball Legend Benjie Paras and for Ramos, I am not sure if his mom or dad are Mestizo's or probably half white but I know he grew up in the states. Philippines Basketball right now is rather complicated, somehow I think that their College players are better than their Pro Players, the best coach is coaching at their UAAP/NCAA. Their Basketball Governing body SBP, is still employing a horrible coach for the national team, and their Local Professional League is on a decline. That why a lot of 0layers are opting to play abroad. Philippines is a great Basketbqll Nation, but it's recent decline, had pushed them further away from becoming a world basketball powerhouse. Back in 2013 the Philippine Team went toe to toe with the world's best at the Fiba World Cup, Last year they went toe to toe with the Serbian team now they are on a decline, they even lost to Indonesia because of lack of preparation. Man it's like the story of the redeem team that I watched in Netflix, Well I hope they regain their supremacy in South East Asia, and I hope they can go back in being one of the top teams in Asia ( well they still are one of the top teams), and I hope in the future ( when Tab Baldwin gets back in coaching for the National team) that they will crack the top 20 in the world.
We need a coach who is flexible and more knowledgable in the field of basketball like Coach Tab. We have many young, talented and tall Fil- foreign and local players, but if a coach is not so good and cannot maximize their talents it is useless. Go, go Gilas Mabuhay Philippines
Nakaka miss yung gantong kobe yung si coach tab pa humahawak sa gilas ganda ng performance ni kobe
