3 guitarists folks, don't see that today, no one has this kind of talent. Saw them 3 times in montreal, every show phenomenal. Canada rules rock and roll
Not since about 1980 or whenever the album came out, in the greater Cincinnati Dayton area. It played very frequently on several radio stations. Great tune with killer harmonies.
I saw April Wine open for Rush on the Hemispheres tour, everyone goes on , about their guitars, and they were great, but no one says anything about their drummer, don't know his name, but he is absolutely ambidextrous, he's the only drummer I have ever seen that has two high hat cymbals, one on either side of his snare drum, and he used them , I'm a drummer and I have never seen that before, he was truly worthy of opening for Rush and Neal Pearts amazing abilities
Saw them back in the 70's at their peak! And they did not disappoint! One of the many amazing things about this band is that they had 3 lead guitarist. So, lead wise, they would go back and forth on leads, licks, tricks, etc. They would do it so quickly that one would think they were at a tennis match! All the back and forth in all their songs! It's quite astounding to witness that!
"Sign Of The Gypsy Queen" "All Over Town" "I Like To Rock" All of the above are more great rockin' tunes from 'April Wine'. Their biggest US hit was a power ballad called "Just Between You And Me". Not my personal favorite, but hey, to each their own. Enjoy your day...🎸🎶🙂

They were world-class but seemed like they were overlooked for some reason. They're getting a lot of play these days.
It's called dueling guitars. Saw April Wine as an opener, they bring it. Lead guitar twinning and dueling is a lost art, has such a powerful sound. Thin Lizzy used it a lot as well.
Nice choice. Back when these guys were at their peak, EVERY local bar band were attempting covers of these guys, and this track in particular. Some were pretty good.

A Montreal high school favorite in 1970 where they played the local high schools, before they had commercial success. Somewhat overshadowed by a couple of Canadian bands of the time, like Triumph, and especially Bachman Turner Overdrive, with Randy Bachman, he, being a previous founding member of The Guess Who. Canada is a small country, eh.
I have been subscribed since pretty close to the beginning! More Triumph, more April Wine! I Like to Rock! Magic Power! Never Surrender! Make your country proud! Love you both!❤
"I Like To Rock" is my favorite April Wine song, it will blow you away, they use the bass line from Green-eyed Lady by Sugarloaf (another fave), and then they meld three songs together at the end (Green-eyed Lady, Satisfaction, and I think Paperback Writer), anyway, totally cool.

Canada is a small country, eh.
Lay it on the line & Fight the good Fight are both excellent TRIUMPH songs
I have been subscribed since pretty close to the beginning!
More Triumph, more April Wine!
I Like to Rock! Magic Power! Never Surrender! Make your country proud! Love you both!❤
I'm happy you liked it 😂😂 Album Sam no Cd's at the time. lol and yes I will get to Triumph. Saw them twice
So many great songs from April wine...Sign of the Gypsy Queen, Like a Lover Like a Song, Just Between You and Me, Right Down on top of Me, I like to Rock.....One of my favorite Canadian Band, another Great one I don't think you've done Frank Marino and Mahagony Rush!!!
Before the dawn is a great April Wine song
"Weeping Widow" & "Oowatanite" are a couple of my favourite April Wine songs.
They hit it big 1st in Canada, then America. Lots of great songs that saw American radio.
I really enjoyed this! I'm surprised I don't remember this one/group. These guys were rockin' it. Also, I always enjoyed Triumph, too, and some of Rush. 😊
Tremendous live band. I saw them around 1978. Three guitars playing against each other. Myles' voice was special. Their whole show was full of well-known songs, one better than the other. You could do a whole hour reacting and still miss a few gems.
Canada has a lot to be proud of. Some of my favorites are from Canada: Rush, Triumph, April Wine, BTO, Saga...did I miss anyone?....Anvil?
