I’m struggling with trying to figure out when and how often to water my newly transplanted hostas and max Frei geraniums that came from pots that I put into my flower bed. I was definitely overwatering and we got so much rain the past few weeks so that didn’t help. On day 4 of no rain, haven’t watered in a week and my moisture meter is still registering as wet 8. The farther down I put the moisture meter the wetter the reading. Wasn’t sure how far down to put it either. So I’ve been relying on.the 2 inch readings.

Typically you want the moisture meter the same or similar depth of the roots or a hosta. Unless you are super hot area that much rain should be good for like two weeks on them! I wouldn’t water again to soon. Hostas are tough dudes anyway. We raise some hostas and they grow great compared to some plants

If your shrubs and trees are at a 6 they are OK and don't need water for a bit unless you are going into a drought
