  • Ahhh Ian Moss rules! This is a classic solo, one of his best, if not THE best. Had a few requests to post this tune, so here we go. Check out the original tune to hear Mossy's brilliant tone and phrasing.

    Awesome work - One of my favourite early Chisel songs, and one of my favourite Mossy solos! And you have such a beautiful Mossy-ish tone going on too! Kudos... :D

    Moss is my No 1 favourite guitarist, ever since I was a kid. Plenty of shredders aout there but Moss is all class in my opinion. Ive learnt every Moss solo/Chisel tune Ive heard, love em!!! Yep learnt em all by ear, takes ahwile but its good fun to be had, would love to jam with you! Trying to get the solos on Dresden done, thats my favourite Moss solo!

    He sure is nice! I got to hang out back stage and talk to him, super nice guy and so humble. I have many of his Albert Lee signature Music Man guitars, they are brilliant. His playing is a true inspiration, love the country stuff a lot. Get your hands around T Bird To Vegas!

    Thanks! I'm yet to meet another guitarist who even likes this song, let alone play the solo, crazy stuff, Moss is brilliant! I cant believe more Aussie players arent into him in a big way.

    I have learnt that version too, just recently! Took me ages off the LP, great little EP too, superb tones from Mr Moss. I actually played his 62 red strat the other day, all $40,000 of it, what a fantastic axe!

    I LOVE Jeff Beck, huge fan! One of the first tunes I ever learnt was Led Boots. I like the There And Back LP, great tunes.

    Home And Broken Hearted just rocks, love Ian's unusual phrasing, he has a cool feel which is so classy. And yes it was a fine strat, I shouldve recorded my Mossy vids with one of my strats.
    That Jeff Beck dvd is amazing, I have a few bootleg dvd's from the 90's and one from 84 which is fabulous. Always good to watch. Just love good tasty players!!!

    @timbuttz Thanks man, its not a particularly hard solo, but not one I see many players playing, or even liking! Must be an old man solo I think!!!!! Cant believe there's not more vids on you tube of guys doing Moss solos, all the mindless shredding videos make me sick, Moss is so brilliant.

    Also, there's a very early live version of this song on an EP Chisel released called "You're Thirteen You've Beautiful and You're Mine" - the solo on that is fantastic too, maybe even better!! Enjoy....

    @rod7178 Hah, thanks man! Mossy does play some odd notes here and there, and there are a few phrases where he plays some notes I just cant figure out, maybe its a tad sloppy on his part, maybe its the MOSS MAGIC!!!!

    oh man, too weird. I joined a country-rock band 12 months ago - Albert has become my latest fave player. I didn't know who he was in 07!!!! Kicking myself now. Yes indeed, he is the master, & sounds like a great guy too.

    Best Mossy solos imho, Just How Many Times, Wild Colonial Boy, Letter to Alan. All are great though. Of the old live ones there is the great guitar of Plaza and One Long Day blending together in circa 1979 era, I have it as mp3 somewhere...

    My favourite Moss solo hands down. You did an awesome job one question, is this standard tuning ?

  • @shearn666
    @shearn666 15 років тому

    this is an altime favourite of mine too - I kinda fudge my way thru it, but you've done a great job getting all the fingering worked out. Clean sound too ;-)
    The solo was apparently inspired by Jeff Beck (there were rumours at the time that he actually played it...). If u like this then check out some of his stuff. He's a genius.
