I'm a 40F, and my issue with bras, is the pricing. Once you reach DD every bra cost $50 or more. Then for some reason stores that sell larger bras only make plunge bras or T-Shirt bras or push-up, and they then have too much padding in them. :\
I got myself fitted for a bra for the first time a few weeks ago and oh my, my life changed! I went from an 85D to a 75I, and I finally understood why I felt so bad wearing bras. I'm now free from headaches, shoulder and back-pain (mostly) and I don't feel panicked when I see a bra. I also don't feel like my boobs are just these lumps hanging out from my body, but an actual part of my body. It was expensive (the bras, the fitting was free), but worth it

I'm SO GLAD she brought up the band issue. Lots of retail stores haven't caught up to the times and will put a lady who should be wearing, say, a 32H into a 38D. (Because OMG, H IS HUGE! WHO ACTUALLY IS THAT SIZE? INCONCEIVABLE!) Which means you can probably pull the actual band up over the boob. That transfers all the weight to the straps, which causes them to dig in, pull on the shoulders, and generally be giant jerks. And then, since there isn't room to live in the cup, the boob tissue will take any escape route it can get, usually out the sides and the back. 80% of support comes from the band and if you can spin the thing around your middle it's PROBABLY NOT DOING ITS JOB
It is not that the stores don't know it is that they sell what they stock. Most don't care if you aren't correctly fitted, just that they get your money.

Im a B but I use a paper clip to make the same strap shape for under certain shapes tops. Just hook both ends of the paper clip onto the straps, like slide the paper clip so that it's hooked on one strap and then move the other strap into the paper clip and it should make that shape? Idk if that helps? Sorry if it doesn't 😂
The bra straps had a special hook built right in to turn the bra into a cross cross back, kind of like the shape of a sports bra. No paper clip required!
They need to sell more sizes in stores. The lowest band size I've seen is 30 and cup sizes typically only go up to about a DD. I wear sports bras or bralettes because I can't find my size.
The brands used in the video are Elomi, Natori, Wacoal, B. Tempt'd by Wacoal. I know Wacoal at least goes to an I cup. Elomi I believe is a J cup. (Srry not exactly positive) B. Tempt'd is DDD (F) . They do exist.

Elomi goes up to US O cup. It the only bra that I can wear. And I am a US O cup. And I love all of the colors and styles! They even have matching sets!

Emily Mayer if you have a measuring tape in your house measure your underbust, the part where the band of your bra sits without wearing it. That will give you a general idea of what your band size is, however every brand is different so it really depends. Although the bras tend to be expensive, if you invest in a good one it should last if you take good care of it. I've have some bras that are still in pretty good condition because I took good care of them, but also they were made well to begin with. Also if you cup fits right, which entails the underwire of the bra ending where your breasts begin by your armpit and your not bulging out of the top of the cup, you can buy a bra extender. They are super cheap and you can continue to wear the bra. Best of luck

I'm 34A, and the fitter kept giving me padded and pushup bras despite my insistence that I didn't want them. She then brought me one of the most expensive bras they sold ($120!! and STILL a bloody triple-padded pushup bra!!). I expressed my displeasure again and she told me something to the effect of: "You shouldn't even be wearing bras".
Dude, yes! My boobs are barely there, but they are being affected by gravity. Small boobs need support too. Most A cups out there are so huge, but the bands on AAs are sooo tight despite my underbust being 29.5 inches.
Alma Saon Why would people even bother? Some people like me don't like when others want bigger boobs or butt because it's really stupid. But sometimes, people do that and they look good if it fits their body type.
A recommendation: I know the struggle of having like very little in that area, and it just looks (without a bra) that I have like marbles or something poking out lol. P a s t i e s. They work.
I wear an Underworks Tri Top binder, and I'd definitely recommend it. I'm a 28GG cup and the Tri Top flattens me down to the equivalent of an AA cup, but it's still very comfortable despite all the compression :)
A lot of women underestimate bras without padding. I am size F and when one of the sales women in one of the shops suggested trying a sexier version (goodbye baige) I stared at her like she was insane. Before I was size D and she showed me that my actuall size is F and no padding is great. I brought one bra just to try it out and now it is literally my favourite. My boobs may bounce a little more but comfort tops it. I don't want to take off my bra after work and it says everything.

It might just be me buying them in the wrong size but I wear a 32H and every sports bra I've tried has been so tight and constricting it stops me from breathing properly if I wear it for more than an hour, but I can't not wear one when excersising cos my bust is so big >_

You could be the wrong size and I'd totally suggest getting fitted at a speciality bra shop (NOT places like VS) but band size ppays a lot into how a bra fits and also the shape of your breats. Getting fitted is definitely the best thing you can do. I think statistically the majority of women do wear the wrong size? There's this notion that D cups are HUGE and like....they really aren't. lmao

Tan is the one who made me question my sexuality, and seeing her look confident and happy made me happy. Also I'm a bit jealous of them because I've never found a bra that fit me well and I'm too broke to do a fitting like that.
Rachel Litchfield As a former lingerie specialist, we never charged. You can still find really professional fittings at stores like Dillard's & Neimans, as well as most specialty lingerie boutiques. And whomever said you can't afford good lingerie because it's too expensive never really looked. Most stores have semi annual clearance sales where you can get even that $80-100 perfect bra for $20 or less, colors and all! My fave: Chantelle, hands down!!

OMG THIS IS WHERE I GET MY BRAS! o.o!! I actually have the purple bra. It's wonderful since my boobs are really heavy, the razorback really takes the weight off. They also do sports bras for bigger sizes, as reference, I'm a K and I always find what I'm looking for at Lucy's!
They should have used someone with a small back. Do they know how hard it is to fit someone with a 28 band? Your cup size rockets up (to a FF/G) and no-one stocks that unless your back is a 36+

This makes me feel like I’m wearing the wrong size. VS always puts me in a 32B, but it never feels right. It always digs into my ribcage, and the sides of my boobs just flow out of the cup. And it’s sad that my town doesn’t have any specialty stores, because it’s small.
The first time I got fitted they just measured me out in the open with all my clothes on and said I was a C cup, I was in 8th grade and barely past an A cup lmao. The reason they had their conclusion is because I was wearing a padded bra and a big shirt 😂

Nova Nocturne I feel you! I'm a 36 DDD/E and I can't wear underwire bras. they are painful to wear for me. I got lucky and found a bra at nordstrom without underwire I could fit into. If you can get to a nordstrom and get fitted for one, you can buy the one at the store and buy more of the same online. I had to drive a long way to get to the store but it was worth it.

if the bruising is under the underwire you probably need a bigger cup size and if it's all around your back you need a bigger band size

I wear an Underworks Tri Top binder, and I'd definitely recommend it. I'm a 28GG cup and the Tri Top flattens me down to the equivalent of an AA cup, but it's still very comfortable despite all the compression :)

A lot of women underestimate bras without padding. I am size F and when one of the sales women in one of the shops suggested trying a sexier version (goodbye baige) I stared at her like she was insane. Before I was size D and she showed me that my actuall size is F and no padding is great. I brought one bra just to try it out and now it is literally my favourite. My boobs may bounce a little more but comfort tops it. I don't want to take off my bra after work and it says everything.

It might just be me buying them in the wrong size but I wear a 32H and every sports bra I've tried has been so tight and constricting it stops me from breathing properly if I wear it for more than an hour, but I can't not wear one when excersising cos my bust is so big >_
I have the same issue, and I honestly think it's because they don't make decent sports bras for anyone over a 34D, at least not for less than £60 per bra. It's a real issue for me because I study dance at Uni, and I'm basically giving myself black eyes any time I move...

You could be the wrong size and I'd totally suggest getting fitted at a speciality bra shop (NOT places like VS) but band size ppays a lot into how a bra fits and also the shape of your breats. Getting fitted is definitely the best thing you can do. I think statistically the majority of women do wear the wrong size? There's this notion that D cups are HUGE and like....they really aren't. lmao

Rachel Litchfield As a former lingerie specialist, we never charged. You can still find really professional fittings at stores like Dillard's & Neimans, as well as most specialty lingerie boutiques. And whomever said you can't afford good lingerie because it's too expensive never really looked. Most stores have semi annual clearance sales where you can get even that $80-100 perfect bra for $20 or less, colors and all! My fave: Chantelle, hands down!!

They should have used someone with a small back. Do they know how hard it is to fit someone with a 28 band? Your cup size rockets up (to a FF/G) and no-one stocks that unless your back is a 36+

This makes me feel like I’m wearing the wrong size. VS always puts me in a 32B, but it never feels right. It always digs into my ribcage, and the sides of my boobs just flow out of the cup. And it’s sad that my town doesn’t have any specialty stores, because it’s small.
The first time I got fitted they just measured me out in the open with all my clothes on and said I was a C cup, I was in 8th grade and barely past an A cup lmao. The reason they had their conclusion is because I was wearing a padded bra and a big shirt 😂

Nova Nocturne I feel you! I'm a 36 DDD/E and I can't wear underwire bras. they are painful to wear for me. I got lucky and found a bra at nordstrom without underwire I could fit into. If you can get to a nordstrom and get fitted for one, you can buy the one at the store and buy more of the same online. I had to drive a long way to get to the store but it was worth it.
