I totally agree, Raimi does really well to make New York as a city into its own character. The extras are It’s voice and he often lets them have their time in the spotlight rather than a simple backdrop for Spider-Man’s playground.

Spiderman 3 is overhated, sure it was nowhere near the level of first two movies, but still it was a good movie.
“You’re getting on my nerves.” “I have a knack for that.” is my favorite one out of the entire trilogy.
Watching some of the Spider-Man 3 clips I'm starting to realize why Peter liked Venom so much. Sure it made him toxic, but he felt great strength and confidence that put him ahead in life. In other words, Venom solved all his problems in exchange for him being kind of a douche.

It's mainly Joss Whedon's fault. It's his schtick to have akward comedic moments like that (as many saw in Justices League as well) and after the Avengers did well, Disney just stuck with his formula for the later movies.
