what do you think of it? I mean.. you're tempted to purchase the start box haha so you gotta like it.. but I mean more.. what do you think of it in comparison to other mainstream ttrpgs?
I think that it really depends on the person running the game. For ME it's perfect because it hits several of my interest points that I like when running a game. I've no clue how it would be if I were to just play it though. However.. when I do the solo play video.. we shall see what happens! :)
100% that's always been in the game plan. I am going to cover Monsters, Combat, Professions, and two other elements and then I'll do the solo play. I wanted to cover all the basics first. :)
there is a core box set that retails currently for about $26.00 usd that contains everything I listed in the overview video (except for the big cloth map, instead the boxed set comes with a folded paper map). It's going to be listed in Kroner but it's easy enough to convert the currency. and that's all you need. There is also a free get started pdf that has the rules listed, might could argue that that's all you need as well.. freeleaguepublishing.com/games/dragonbane/
It's still a veeeery new system, so only the core plus an additional bestiary so far. Tho there is a campaign release coming up in just a few weeks iirc, "Path to Glory", a reimagining of a set of modules from the old editions of the 1980's. Like GM says tho, the box and the adventure within it is all you need to start playing c:
I love the dark fairytale feel of Dragonbane!
yeah, that's part of the appeal for me as well.
Picked my copy up during Free RPG day. I’m tempted to purchase the Starter boxed set

Do it!!
@@gamemasters it’s $42 on Amazon, I’m just waiting for my budget to align with the price 😂
@@gamemasters as far as the game goes, I love what I’ve read. It’s a nice mix of 5e and OSR but different from Dungeon Crawl Classic.
Does it sound like the game for me? nah
But it does sound fun, and like something I'd like to try and learn more about!

Have you thought about runnin the solo adventure and recording it for a video?
