I have a couple questions. 1: di you need a new steering gearbox 2: how do you figure out what pad width for springs do you need? These are the only 2 bits of information I am going to need. Besides shock hoops. All I am trying to do is get my 1998 chevrolet c1500 to have 4x4 and a solid axle. The kit I am looking at only has the mounting brackets and bushings for everything.
I have a 1991 k1500 Chevy and I have 45 bfgs on them with a big lift (10”) but I need a whole new suspension and front axle cause it broke and not one shop wants to fix it so I saw this and was like JESUS please fix my baby. That truck is my dream I hate seeing it sit. I’m self taught and do everything myself on my truck but I’m no where near this level I mean I’ll do it if I have to but this is niceeeee. I’d prefer Dana Axle swap but 🤷🏼♀️
So will Virginia. I’m glad the owner drives this and good on him, but I don’t know how he can do it without getting pulled over constantly and collecting a stack of fix it tickets.
What front bracket is that, where is the front and rear leaf springs from, can you tell me a little more about the steering will the transfer case need flipped
It’s been done , but the tire size that has to be run to overcome the gear size in rockwells is what normally makes them not a great option for a daily drivable rig.
@cotyglenn-xb9jo email us at sales@davisoffroad.com , we can help point you in the right direction on bought pieces for this setup. Some of the parts however are custom built in house here and some parts are things you have to search out and find ( like the front axle) . Thanks for watching !
8” lift 52” long springs ( rear squarebody springs) ( giving this particular truck roughly about 12” of lift from the springs plus the 3” SAS front hangers). Thanks for watching !
Front abs is disabled and a few steps of reprogram to rid the abs light on the dash but keep the red dash brake light functional with parking brake and start up sequence.
Beautiful trucks but are illegal in alot of states because the are past the sides of the fenders. A little p Lower and less width on the wheels would be perfect.
Solid axle is how these trucks should have been from the factory!!
Great job guys it looks amazing! Keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching ! stay tuned for more!
Pretty bad ass truck. Thanks for sharing

One ton swap dana 60 kingpin works flawless and simple for the steering set up
The Communist WA highway patrol would scream and throw a complete tantrum over this.
Vote then out
@@jc2478Vote 😂 That's cute. We all know that's nothing but a scam.

Have you swapped 2.5 ton axles in a truck yet?
I'd like to see that done. For the street, I'm in Florida, so Tall is ok
Anymore videos of this truck?

Do you have the specs on the wheels? I know you said they are 15x16s. What’s the offset do you have a part number that I can order same wheel set up?
Are those leaf spring brackets custom?

Anybody know whos swap kit was used in the front?
This kit was a ORD kit with 52” long springs .
What do you do about the ABS?
Front abs is disabled and a few steps of reprogram to rid the abs light on the dash but keep the red dash brake light functional with parking brake and start up sequence.
Ditch that steering bro. Wow. Least do some DOM
All steering bars and track bar on this truck are 1.5” .250 wall DOM tubing .
That big ass block is terrible
