Swarnika Singh Hey swarnika I'm just like you. Always loved English scored well and now took engineering(was forced but now I'm cool with it.. I think so.) . To convince your parents make sure u get admission in best colleges of India for English. Then please make sure you get an MBA later on and your life is great. Keep doin everything you love doing be it dance, reading.. etc. Work hard to get your 12th percentage high. It is very important for MBAs... Then after scoring 90+in 12th say you won't eat food if you are forced to take engineering and lock yourself in your room. Trust me it works... they will cool down later on... and agree with you. Hi Prajakta, as you said "not having a plan is ok " , I just remembered last by this time I was about to complete my masters and I got placed in a company before my final semester at that time I thought that my life is all sorted now I will work and do this n that ( all this plans I had in my head ), now it's been 9 month's since I'm working nothing has worked according to the plan infact that I have realised that , the job which I'm into is really just not me. I will quit my job in a couple of month after that I seriously don't know what am i going to do with my life . After hearing to this ,"not having a plan is ok" has bought some hope in me , that life will have some surprises for me which wil be worth this wait . Thank you so much.

Hey Prajakta! loved your honesty and that makes you you! I always wanted to work in a corporate set up without knowing whether I fit in. I didn't fit in obviously despite working hard and being fairly good at what I did, I felt I was good if not perfect. Well, that's a long story for another day! I reluctantly became a freelancer feeling guilty of my choice and was ashamed of myself for a long time, now I have accepted the fact I am a freelancer and can't work in a 9-5 office set up, but I have prepared myself to be a features writer for the last five years and now getting good work (money sab moh maya hain! you know what I mean!!!) which I love. Atleast, I can say I really love the work I do. Yes, it is good to not have a plan, as life has better surprises for you so keep pushing the envelope, be a bohemian as normal is super boring and love yourself first is something I learnt from the past, and a work in progress!!!

Hi Prajakta, as you said "not having a plan is ok " , I just remembered last by this time I was about to complete my masters and I got placed in a company before my final semester at that time I thought that my life is all sorted now I will work and do this n that ( all this plans I had in my head ), now it's been 9 month's since I'm working nothing has worked according to the plan infact that I have realised that , the job which I'm into is really just not me. I will quit my job in a couple of month after that I seriously don't know what am i going to do with my life . After hearing to this ,"not having a plan is ok" has bought some hope in me , that life will have some surprises for me which wil be worth this wait . Thank you so much.

The most validating thing you said , which i also so far believe is that failing is important to succeed in the long run . Im not a very successful person till now , still working towards my dream , but have this faith going on that i can . I am alone in this race sadly , like i don't have a support system , so get fragile for like some nano seconds in the midst , but then life is too short to give up .

Hey Prajakta! loved your honesty and that makes you you! I always wanted to work in a corporate set up without knowing whether I fit in. I didn't fit in obviously despite working hard and being fairly good at what I did, I felt I was good if not perfect. Well, that's a long story for another day! I reluctantly became a freelancer feeling guilty of my choice and was ashamed of myself for a long time, now I have accepted the fact I am a freelancer and can't work in a 9-5 office set up, but I have prepared myself to be a features writer for the last five years and now getting good work (money sab moh maya hain! you know what I mean!!!) which I love. Atleast, I can say I really love the work I do. Yes, it is good to not have a plan, as life has better surprises for you so keep pushing the envelope, be a bohemian as normal is super boring and love yourself first is something I learnt from the past, and a work in progress!!!
