Choose this (or Ohuhu) than Copics. Alcohol markers are not lightfast so they fade so easily under the sun. Copics are hella overpriced and it's hard to work with a limited collection of them. I enjoy this one over copics, and I just saw a 168 set on Ali for like 30 bucks which I'm adding to cart...

I just received my touch markers today, and I want to watch tutorials about them first. Thanks for this video. I know Touch Markers are not on the same level as professional alcohol markers like Copic, but they are cheap and perfect for beginners, especially artists who do not have enough budget for expensive art materials. They are worth buying, if you're still testing the waters of this medium.

Thank you very much for sharing what you notice about water based and alcohol. I had already bought the touch alcohol 168 and was glad you liked the outcome for the most part. This will be my first time learning to gain skill in marking usage. I have watched and search videos for blending and marker usage before starting.
I'm on a similar bases with my experience of art media with acrylic painting and graphite and charcoal part of my most used and experienced art media. What you shared has me excited to work with alcohol based markers and thanking as well for letting us know what types of paper will give pretty good work surfaces! 🤗❤️👍🏾💯

So do I!!! I thought I was doing things wrong. Turns out Alcohol markers have so many advantages over water based ones. Alcohol markers are a total game changer
Maganda nman sila! Yes, hindi sila on par with copics or anything, pero maganda pa sila! Pati ang cheap nila! Great for beginners! Only got them for 360 Philippine pesos. About 6 dollars, for 80 PCS!! so cheap.

i was gonna buy them bc i rlly wanted alchahol markers that were afortable in my area but now touch isnt bad
The colorless blender is basically an eraser. It's not meant to blend colors. Never understood why it's called a blender in the first place. Oh, and you should always blend colors within the same color group, especially with the cheap markers. Otherwise it becomes a mess.

Ohuhu, Windsor, & Touch, are the best, those ones you have are Knock offs I bought a set from temu I got a set of 120 delivered yesterday Touch Hero I've not fully tested them yet but the nibs are definitely not bullet nibs more like the nibs from your original felt pens (Cheap) form the shop some colours don't match because of the lids have been put on the wrong colour or theres been no pigment added too some, they come out a dull even if the nib matches the colour

That type of touch markers you bought is fake thats why it doesnt blend well.. touch 5 markes should be its name and not touch Raven, or whatever they name after "touch".

I normally use watercolor paper. The inexpensive ones. But it'll be better with marker paper

lol swatching is usually not my favourite part of assessing a new set of markers or coloured pencils. Although it is exciting to start, it takes some effort to finish!

I prefer paint as well and wasn't a type of marker person, but these off brand touch markers looks like it can pull things off. I was thinking of purchasing it, so watching a bunch of reviews helps.

The white touch markers have brush tips that's the difference
Actually if you want the markers to blend well, you need to use two colors following one another (ex 12 then 13 and so on)

Also if you put the colorless blender down first and then put yours colors on top before it dries . That usually blends them alot better!

I feel bad for my mother she bought me a touch marker online and the color gets darker each time I color the same area and the ink spreads to much I don't know how to tell her
I will just keep using it, still a gift from mom..
You can watch tutorial to improve in using them! They are really great, Color fast before the ink dry or you might leave steak

It's all about sales. So that people will think that there are new ones. But in actuality, it's the same thing but different name

Nope. The paper will be torn once you start coloring. These type of paper also suck up the ink so much. Try something that's thicker and smoother like vellum paper above 180 gsm thickness. Try finding it using online stores.

Some sellers include the swatch. Mine didn't come with it, so I made one myself

Sa vellum okay yan. Try to avoid "toothy" paper. Para wag mag fray yung marker tips. Avoid din yung sobrang absorbent na paper para ndi kagad maubos un ink
Regarding blending with color pencils. It really depends on the colored pencils since iba iba ang formula ng pencils per brand. Best advice I can give you is test and explore. Artists are alchemists. 😁👍
Hi. What if i use a darker color and then a lighter color over the darker? Will it overwrite it by contaminating it's color?
Yup 👍 that works. Just make sure your paper is sturdy and can handle the wet ink, like water color paper or marker paper

Yes it would a bit, at the tip. but it can easily be cleared or cleaned out by writing on a clean paper or damp cloth (wet with alcohol)

Sakto lang for me. Depende rin kasi sa usage mo. Ndi kasi ako masyadong ma-layer kapag nagco-color so marami rin akong napag-gamitan ng markers na 'to.

I bought alcohol markers because I thought these markers can blend so I can improve my drawing skills but, I am definitely wrong and I even bought 80 pieces. So now, I don't know where to use these markers. Color pencil nalang talaga ako hahahahhaha
They're still good for Anime Cel Shading style if you're having difficulty with blending 😁👍

Is it suitable for 140 gsm ?
That's actually more than enough. 140gsm is good paper for alcohol markers. But still, you may want to place the paper over another paper just to be so sure, to avoid any inks bleeding through the back of the paper, then to your work surface or table.

How many skin colours do you get for anime ?
From what I normally use, I have around 6 colors that I can use for skin tones. That includes base colors and for shadowing/shading

None that I know of... I haven't heard of a touch sketch before... 🤔

Yes they do but not as easy or as nice as expensive ones. Blending takes a little bit more effort too

Watercolor paper lang. Yung generic nga lang na mabibili sa shopee. Okay naman xa. Pero may nakita rin akong paper na pang markers tlga. Haven't tried it nga lang out of stock pa

I don't think it's a waste. As long as you have used it and made something out of it, I think it's money well spent. Art materials are only wasted if you buy it and just left it in storage 😁🌟

I'm foreigner. My country is located next to China, which made these pens but no one reviews it. Your video is really helpful. in my country when e-commerce platforms discount 48 colors for only 1$ USD and 80 colors for 5$ USD (I also don't know why 48 colors = 1$, 80 colors is only 2$) but never mind because it's still really cheap) and worth the experience I'm writing this comment not to compare prices because the standard of living in my country is still developing but it's really a set The color is worth the experience

I bought the 80 set of touch bgln or touch boge markers and most of them are dry and they're awful 80 set only 1 or 2 skin tones
