Just watched it now, but I have to say that not only does Lucas show us the perks of skiing, but also what great breakfests he has. A cooking&skiing channel! Great video
Next time you're there, try out Chute #9. Not only is it a difficult chute, it is also difficult to find. In between Chutes 8 and 10, given its 9, you'll have to traverse into trees going right as to not miss it. You'll find yourself on a chute around two skis length wide and steeper than most of the other chutes. After a decent or better storm, it is an awesome run you can send. You have to stop at the bottom to see the tree with, "I eat a--" (fill in the blanks) carved into it. You can see it from the chair on the way up.
Great vid Lucas, been watching every episode this season. Keep pumping them out so I can keep living vicariously. Also, please take a week or two to come out to New England! Would love to see your thoughts on some of the bigger mountains out here like Killington, Stowe, etc
@@LucasCatania17 Hell yeah man! Add Cannon in New Hampshire and Sunday River and Sugarloaf in Maine to your list. Those 5 are some of my favorites. There's a lot of smaller places which I haven't been to but have heard good things about like Mad River Glen that are probably also worth checking out.
@michael swartz ive heard very good things about mad river glen and after todays storm might be a good place to ski this week. But i agree to all those mountains for good east coast skiing. Never hit killington though
Wow you beat the crap outta your skis on these gnar runs all season. Thanks for showing us the tuff stuff at each resort whether it's covered with snow or not.
Damn that fall was sketch 😳 Had a similar situation last weekend where I pushed my limits and it ended up being the worst fall of my life. I sent it off a rock at the beginning of a glade and didn't see that there was another rock sticking out in the landing zone. Landed on that rock and literally front flipped into a tree in front of me at like 25mph. Messed up my back and leg really bad, but didn't break anything so got super lucky. Can't ski for a couple more weeks unfortunately. Definitely an experience I won't forget. Stay safe out there homie, would suck if you got hurt and couldn't shred
owen wow man. i am glad you are ok and that it wasnt worse. that sounds awful but hopefully it was a good learning experience to always check the landings of hits like that before hand. it sucks youre out for a few weeks but its better than being out for the season brother.
as always, I love following you on and off the mountain! When I was your age, we skied everything! Now that I’m older I am enjoying more laid back skiing and I get to watch you work your magic! You are such an inspiration, seeing you fearlessly heading down thru the trees and chutes, so much fun cheering you on! I hope you always want to do this, thanks for taking us with you! Great videos, comments, music and all the beautiful scenery that I love so much out West!! Thank you!! ⛷😎
Haha....I can tell you're getting tired of blue bird days. We need some more snow. Last fresh powder day I rode in Utah was in December. Haven't had to use my low or flat light lenses since. On another note, that ski patrol lady was probably thinking "oh no...he's going right for the trees again." 😆
thank you all for 12k!! hope you enjoy this chill video up at Deer Valley and stick around to the end for the 10k giveaway winner!! HEADING TO ASPEN THIS WEEKEND! Also, you can now use code LUCAS for 15% off your entire order at www.ziplineski.com! Lets goooo
Wow. That was super low tide. I love skiing DV. I have skied there over 300 days in total and i have never seen the snow that bad. Super cool content again mate!
Lucas, always great videos!! Keep ripping, but be safe - it's ok to pass on a sketchy run. Your meal scenes are good - rotating eggs an Kodiak-cakes. Keep cranking the awesome videos
wow what a spectacular video! I love all the recent meet-ups with subscribers! So fun for you and them. Great shots of Joe too. Also, 19:18 lol I love how you named it Lucas Chute 🤣great video!!!
The other day I accidentally led my dad and lil sis down Guardsman Glade instead of Hawkeye, took us 20 mins to get down the first part before seeing a connection to Hawkeye. Impressive man🙌
Brings back memories of when I got cliffed out in the Daily Chutes a few years ago. Options were to pop the skis off and hike down, try to side step back up or just send it. I did exactly what you would have done and pointed them. Very sketch but in all was pretty rad. Keep up the good work.
Glad you’re ok, man, but I appreciate how you keep it real and share those moments. Good to know you’re human, after all! 🤪 Thanks for all you do to make this the best channel on the interweb!
Thank you so much man 🙏🏽 I dunno if it’s the best channel out there but I do my best to be transparent and authentic. Thanks for being apart of the stoke squad brother!
Oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt are my go-to ski breakfast. Fancy breakfasts when at places like Lodges at DV. I thought u were going to lose it in Lucas chute and rag doll down when ur downhill ski looked like it was washing out after right ski snagging the rock! We do appreciate you for risking limbs and life for all the chute skiing!!
Oo oatmeal and hard boiled eggs are a great combo! One of these days I should try the breakfast at the resort. And I thought I was going down for sure! Would have been a nasty fall but somehow we kept it together hahah. My luck was running out quickly that weekend
haha i am too man! definitely got lucky this weekend. i think i was making a turn and then i also hit that divot where the rock was and it sent me off balance
I use the lowepro powder 500 if I need to attach my skis to the side and carry camera equipment but I haven’t used it much this year because it is big.
Great video dude. I was actually at DV around this time as well. As much as I love Daly Chute 4 (my fave on the mountain) I didn’t ski it this year due to the lack of snow. It is always challenging in any conditions but will put a beating on your skis if there isn’t enough snow. I’ve been lucky in that my family purchased a condo near silverlake village in the early 90s (before the Daly’s were even accessible via lift lol) so I’ve been skiing DV for a long time lol. I like Snowbird and Alta better but DV is pretty awesome as well. Definitely try and get back to the Daly’s on a better snow year they are very fun! Gonna be there with the fam over Christmas, early feb and, early march. Looking forward to this season💪💪💪
Another great vlog! Could you recommend where might be the best (least busy) place to ski on Saturday out of Park City, Deer Valley, Solitude and Snow Basin. Thanks and keep shredding!!! P.S. I love that you include the falls when things get sketchy.
went skiing for my first time today and i gotta say you make everything look easy lol. love the video tho keep it up! and thank you for inspiring me and many other people!

Awesome!! I don’t know solitude very well but mineral basin is great for intermediate skiing and so is gad2 at snowbird. As for the not crowded part, doesn’t really exist at those places haha
Bro. 1/4 a tube of breakfast sausage. Half a can of rotel. 2 eggs and a handful cheese. Throw that scramble in a tortilla. Chefs kiss. 2 huge breakfast burritos. Hot sauce and Mayo mixed up to top them with a spicy Mayo. My new favorite breakfast

You just keep pumping out the best ski videos on this platform and make it look easy! Went skiing today with my first timer girlfriend at Seven Springs Mountain and had an awesome day! We’ve been watching your videos religiously to get her stoked for the trip and I think it worked! Haha
Haha thanks Rick! Im stoked that you can share the videos with your girlfriend to get her stoked for skiing! That’s what it’s all about. Thanks for sharing man.
I've been up to Deer Valley on Saturdays to teach my kids to ski, and the great thing is that there are fairly minimal lines and good uphill capacity. The terrain is remarkably good too, and very scenic (with the Aspens). I'm glad it's on the Ikon pass!
You have to try making an omelet with the hash browns cooked within it. Cook the hash browns on one side, flip, then pour your eggs and other ingredients right on top. Delicious! Enjoying the content, keep it up and let us know when you come out east next year.
Loved the video. Glad you kept the portion of yourself getting stuck in the trees. It was funny and we have all been there.... However, probably nobody else carrying a selfie stick on a double black diamond! I didnt realize Deer Valley had such good steeps. Looks like a great place to leave the fam on the groomers and ski the steeps :)
Haha thanks for watching dude. I’m sure everyone can relate to getting tangled up and ending up in the weeds like that. I’m just glad I was able to capture it and that we didn’t get hurt. And yeah deer valley has a lot more than just groomers!

Just there and yes it is very boujie but, with little snow the care with which they preserve their runs is sooo appreciated. You kooky doin' those runs. Way too thin.
7:11 Haha, I call them "Pow bushes" because the skiers tend to avoid them! They're nowhere near as bad to run over on a snowboard. Also it's interesting to see a skier only mountain, the moguls are far more consistent and dense throughout the runs. Not sure I'd want to go there even if they let me tbh
They weren’t bushes man. They were a bunch of sticks and small logs sticking up through there! If they were bushes, I woulda skied through them like in my other deer valley video but those were leg breakers for sure!
Hey Lucas - love the videos man. You've definitely been keeping the stoke alive with all this crummy weather we've been having on the ice coast. Just a suggestion for breakfast since you asked; date syrup / organic maple syrup. My girlfriend is in the medical field and a health nut haha. She's really made me more mindful about added/fake sugars, plus i love pancakes haha so she suggested using a syrup with less sugar. Just a little tip that might make that sweet breakfast a little healthier, without sacrificing the taste. Thanks again for pumping out the content, its been very inspiring watching you ski. I used to ski a lot throughout my teenage years and your videos just rekindled the fire. I purchased a used set of Line skis and have been making trips up the mountain every chance i get. Hoping to get out west soon - I've never skied on true powder. All east coast hard pack and with the occasional dusting. But I'm happy to say i have a trip booked up Park City in January of next year. Keep having fun and charging forward man. Cheers!
walker thank you man! i definitely could be more mindful with my nutrition, especially when it comes to added sugars - so i will keep that in mind next time i buy syrup haha! and im stoked the videos help reinspire you to get back out there and pick up a pair of skis. the trip to PC next year is going to be epic and i am so stoked for you dude.
They got some good loopers on Amazon. Next day if you have prime. A bit big for a backpack and probably not DV approved, but when you need one, you need one. :)
I loved Deer Valley, the beef stew in the lodge was incredible, the trails were awesome and remember at Deer Valley it's "The Gentlmens's Lounge", not the Mens room
No snowboarding! Ha. Good thing I broke my leg so bad in 2017 that I have to ski now! :) (can’t bend my back knee inwards) But don’t worry I freakin love skiing.. Especially since the skis are shaped like snowboards! Great vlog
I just skiied chutes 4 and 7 this morning. I ran your first route on 4, after seeing the exposed stuff on skiiers left from the first tree. You've got big balls for taking that line LOL. I live in Cottonwood Heights - would love to shred some time!
Another awesome video Lucas! Thanks for bringing us along. I really want to pull the trigger to a March PC trip but feel like I need to wait for more snow. But seeing these video's makes me realize PC is always worth the trip regardless of conditions so I may just go ahead and get the trip booked. Hmm...
I 100% recommend Big Sky, Montana, that place hits different and I haven’t seen you ski there. I’ve been there a lot and still haven’t seen the hole mountain. 2 runs I recommend are Blue Room off of Ramcharger and Rice Bowl, a hidden run on Swift Current. Live the vids :))
Hey Lucas - Maybe you should pack a machette for you’re next run down the shuttes? Breakfast suggestion - couple of eggs , scrambled, add some cheese and chilli sauce, served with a couple of slices of smoked salmon and half an avocado - that will keep you going! Love the videos - thankyou!
Way to keep your cool in that sketchy area. Super important to stay calm like you said. Deer Resort looks really cool! Might have to switch back to skiing for a day to try that resort 🤣 Gotta rename that Lucas Chute the Suicide Chute sheeeeeesh Also... CONGRATS ON THE 12K!!!
It’s so wild how you’re in such a secluded spot but ski patrol still came in clutch! You’re insane bro one of the best I’ve seen!

Yo man dope video your camera angles are unmatched! I strive to someday be able to freestyle like u all around the country in a van .
thanks man! i appreciate that. stoked you enjoy it!
Awesome! I've gotten into those situations in the saplings and shrubs. More annoyed I didn't see it coming enough to avoid it than anything!
It can certainly be frustrating but luckily you come out unscathed 🙏🏽
I just skiied chutes 4 and 7 this morning. I ran your first route on 4, after seeing the exposed stuff on skiiers left from the first tree. You've got big balls for taking that line LOL. I live in Cottonwood Heights - would love to shred some time!
Sick man! Chute 7 was skiing nice! Chute 4 was a bit more tricky haha. Always down to shred a lap man!
You need to try out Telluride. it's pretty fun, and it's pretty there
I made a video from there
ski patrol on top of it, respects to them
Always man! Patrol is awesome
Lol, literally skiing in the trees
Stay safe out there b
Thanks homie.
U leaving the sticker on?
No I took it off
Another awesome video Lucas! Thanks for bringing us along.
I really want to pull the trigger to a March PC trip but feel like I need to wait for more snow. But seeing these video's makes me realize PC is always worth the trip regardless of conditions so I may just go ahead and get the trip booked. Hmm...
thanks for watching greg! the snow will come - i would just book the trip! and even if it doesnt snow, the terrain is still so fun to ski either way!
Keep rock’n it brother! ⛷
Thanks bro!!
That second attempt got party AF!!!!! Lol shit was looking pretty salt & pepper from the top!
Haha love it! Never heard it called salt and pepper before!
Where do you get your music from, I’m planning on starting a ski channel as well and the music in your videos is lit
I use epidemic sound!
@@LucasCatania17 yeah, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it
I 100% recommend Big Sky, Montana, that place hits different and I haven’t seen you ski there. I’ve been there a lot and still haven’t seen the hole mountain. 2 runs I recommend are Blue Room off of Ramcharger and Rice Bowl, a hidden run on Swift Current. Live the vids :))
I am planning on going there in March!
Always have to respect the send! Glad you had a successful day on the slopes!🤙🏾
thanks kee! always gotta respect the send is right!
I give you credit for skiing all those hardpacked runs with those rockered skis. You don't have much edge contact on them so its an added challenge.
thanks stuart! i love having the bigger skis!!
Hey Lucas - Maybe you should pack a machette for you’re next run down the shuttes? Breakfast suggestion - couple of eggs , scrambled, add some cheese and chilli sauce, served with a couple of slices of smoked salmon and half an avocado - that will keep you going! Love the videos - thankyou!
haha mark that breakfast sounds delicious!! might have to take you up on that one!
Absolutely crazy riding, great video as always Lucas!
Thanks man! Stoked on you watching!
Was that the battle bus!?!?
What?
@@LucasCatania17 0:18 the blue bus
Anyone know how he videos himself sometimes from the back and front where he’s not holding the camera? Like at 14:05
im using a 360 camera on a long selfie stick!
Deer Valley’s Ritzy/Family-Friendly image protects these chutes.
they are some awesome chutes!
Deer Valley is very under rated. Glades are really nice, definitely under-skied.
its weird bc its rated very highly but not known for their upper mountain terrain!
What kind of coat is that??
Montec!
Way to keep your cool in that sketchy area. Super important to stay calm like you said. Deer Resort looks really cool! Might have to switch back to skiing for a day to try that resort 🤣
Gotta rename that Lucas Chute the Suicide Chute sheeeeeesh
Also... CONGRATS ON THE 12K!!!
haha yes dude come to the ski side with us!! that would be sick! and haha daly chute 3 - suicide i love it!
thanks for the support brother!
