Funny how you uploaded this right after I found one at my university's ewaste! Didn't end up taking it because it was absolutely ruined (hinges snapped when I opened it up, exactly like you mentioned), but if it were more intact it would've been awesome. I did nab a pretty clean 12" G4, though!

I thought this was an old video at first. I'm glad I was wrong. Awesome to see a fresh computer video from you

Powerbooks had some serious style, I miss the older Apple Laptops.

Compared to the last 5 years of MacBook yeah I agree. I love the new 14/16" MBPs tho, the design is really reminiscent in ways of the pre unibody PowerBooks/MacBook Pros.

Hello from Turkey. I've got 2 of those models one is 550MHz the other is 1GHz. They both function quite well. But the 550MHz one had been stored in a basement between 2009-2021 therefore most of the keys on the keyboard don't function and its battery is dead, because of the humid. The owner wouldn't guess the humid would wreck havoc on the keyboard and battery. Luckily the 1GHz one was stored at an office so it's got none of these problems.

That little white piece on the right side is actually a WiFi window, if I remember correctly. It's also worth noting that Lenovo seems to be releasing some ThinkPads that are made of titanium these days.

I used to have one of these, got it for like £30 off eBay in like 2016. Hard drive ended up dying, couldn't get it to install a new OS and it was falling apart with the hinges snapping out of no where.
Ended up breaking it a few years ago before their resale value shot right up, haven't been able to get another :/

Yeah street prices on these are pretty nuts, hence why I hadn't picked one up until now lol

I have a Mercury version of this (no wifi) so the card slot holds a wifi card. I have phillips head screws on the bottom.
