The one and only bad thing about this song: it's so quiet! I always have to change the volume to hear it, and then I forget so the next song comes blasting in.
Years ago, I looked for remixes of my favorite track from Wind Waker and stumbled across this gem. Listened to it for weeks on end. Now, years later, I arrived in the Rito village in Breath of the Wild and was immediately thrown back.. not to Wind Waker, but to this track. Still as beautiful and emotional. Thank you, zykO, for creating this.
@ocremix True, there is nothing inherently wrong with lyrics and vocals paired with video game music. However, if the lyrics leave the audience with a negative message, that's when I have a problem. All expressionist have the right to express themselves in whatever form they can, but if the song is deliberately trying to instill immoral lessons or horrible images onto the audience, then the artist is in the wrong. That being said, this piece really does invite you to learn the tale of Link.
Wind Waker has always remained to be the most captivating world for me; the most beautiful and enchanting. I love how Zyko has captured such beautiful feelings in song.
I can't stop listening to it. It's fantastic! It's pure awesome, mixed with win, and a dash of epic thrown on. It's enchanting and beautiful. Definitely going to add this to my "Epic Drawing Music" category.
@JDLupus Indeed this cover has almost made me weep. This encapsulates the whole feel of Wind Waker which to me- and surely all the other sane Zelda fans out there- is the best experience of a Zelda game I've ever had....*sob* it's just so good...*blubber* thank you Zyko.
I had no idea about OCRemix until some of its songs popped up on Radio Hyrule. (Great site, BTW. If you're a fan of Zelda music, you really should stop by.) But now it has to be one of my favorite things in the world. Thanks for everything, OCRemix team!
I do like the mysticism and the arrangment. I must agree with ProvenParadox, that the song would fit better in the range of a countertenor or a woman, or perhaps just sung an octave below. Not overdone, it is easy to overpower a tune like this, but you manage to keep it controlled. Enjoyable. I like it.
I have a profound love for Wind Waker. People dogged that game hardcore when it came out. I loved every second of it. And to this day, it still holds up to me, Granted Tingle was annoying... lol. I'm so glad Nintendo is going back down this route with Skyward Sword Since it seemed they felt pressured to make Twilight Princess look the way it did. Wind Waker was a true marriage of graphics and music, both complimenting each other. Incredible mix of an incredible song. I bow to you good sir!!!
There's dragons, bird people, flying frog-like wind gods, bomb flowers, and amazing music. What can this amazing island known as Dragon Roost Isle possibly be missing? Lyrics, you say? Not any more its not.
I know it's a remix but I'd love to play this song on guitar XD I guess vocals will just have to do for now ;P I really love this song and is by far my favorite on Radio Hyrule,.
@ocremix Dirge for Planet from STALKER, Snake Eater from MGS3, Credits Theme from Mass Effect, Donkey Kong 64 Theme (ok it's kinda just chanting), Eyes On Me from FFVIII, Elena Siegman's tracks from Nazi Zombies, Most tracks from Delta Force BHD (in Somalian), Still Alive from Portal...... etc?
Fantastic work there, I'm against lyrics in songs in general but happy to be proven wrong. Something things though I don't agree with, echoing your voice/ having another person singing with isn't needed and no this song doesn't capture all that the game is about. Any way, here comes the hate mail. Still keep it up with OC you're a great group of people for remixes
Sorry if I am wrong, but "Seafarer"? Is that an english word, or is it taken from the german word "Seefahrer" which pretty much means "sea driver"? Always asked that myself. Beautiful ReMix btw ;)
Mixes like these leave me conflicted. It's still great, but there's the one thing that eats at me. The arrangement is great, the music is beautiful, the lyrics are moving, and everything is overall solid... Except the vocals. It seems to me the piece was written with a feminine voice in mind at points. It sounds like your voice is straining to hit the notes at times. I think the ideal form of this mix would be a duet with you and, off the top of my head, pixietricks or katethegreat.
@Xankar1 Your right. There is no true definition of morality. There never was one. The definition of morality is made by the person who believes in it. Let's take Hip-Hop for instance. Hip Hop almost always portrays attractive young women in very revealing outfits doing rather "slutish" things to the rapper (male). People united with the common belief that these images distorts the thinking of young ladies with identity issues, and make them think they are the ladies in the video, or should be.
12 years after, this song still moves me a lot, specially the flute solo
Used to listen to this song all the time. Heard it on this app called Hyrule Radio back when I was in middle school.
This is my favourite song. Ever. Thanks, zykO.
The outmost simplicity and yet complexe level this song reaches is just... I cant even describe it.

I heard this song on Radio Hyrule,
I love that song scence
My god... that was awesome. Wind Waker has always been my favorite and this song does so much justice.
I really love the build up leading to the original tune is absolutely beautiful.
Ah... I believe this is a reference to the very good, classic poem, "Rime of the Ancient Mariner." Give it a read, if you haven't. It's quite good.
@ocremix

This is probably my favorite song out of anything. Brilliant work adding amazing lyrics to one of the most awesome Zelda songs of all time. :)
Very organic sound... and based one of my favorite vgms. Good stuff!
Goodness gracious this song fills me with a sense of nostalgia that I cannot begin to describe...
If only we could find such magic in our lives. Thank you, zyko, for letting us have at least a taste.

Truly beautiful.
This song gives me the gooseybumps!

My goodness...these emotions. This is truly wonderful. Thank you.
Hello a decade into the future - took me a while to find this song again, but I never gave up
One of my fav Zelda tunes just got better! :)
It's very nice! It has perfectly captured the feeling of the original theme.
Awesome!All musics, they are awesomes!

Petition to change the lyrics to "... to save a girl *THAT'S* a dragon ..." 1:03
I can't think of something to sum up how I feel about this. This causes various emotions to arise in me.
This is fantastic!
This needs a lot more views.

It's english, though who had it first is up to question, they clearly stem from the same origin. In english it means 'mariner' or 'sailor'.

Do like!
