Every new instalment makes me appreciate Tokyo Drift more and I'm okay with that. And it had been one of my favourites since it came out (score, aesthetic, vehicles, setting etc Han of course, but not necessarily 30 year old Bama Boy.)

I know the name now, as I've heard it a few times, but then as now, apart from being a singer? I still wouldn't be able to pull her out of a line up, if you asked me to pick her out by her name. I might be able to look at her an think I knew her from somewhere, but I couldn't tell you Anything about her.
When I watched it then and this reaction, it was only Seb saying her name, that I thought that I've heard that name before, but there was no recognition.

The fact that Han's Death was reshooted 2 times differently made his "appearence" like bullshit.
First he died Racing another asian Guy because Han stole his shit.
Then he was "killed" by Jason... Then It was "all part of the plan" but in the post credit scene when both reunites, Jason looks very surprised.
We Saw wonder woman """"die"""" when she falla from the Flaming plane and now seh comes out from a FUCKING SUBMARINE!

The fact that Tyreese and rapper/actor/kung fu fighter/master hacker Ludacris drive a car into space and it barely cracks the top five most ridiculous things in this movie is truly art. I mean it. It shoots the moon and becomes so stupid it’s actually genius. Give this movie an Oscar and a Nobel peace prize, you cowards.

My thoughts exactly. I don’t know why people get upset. These films haven’t been realistic since 3 and 5 is super easily arguably the best in the series. At least they owned it and full dived. Each movie makes more than the last that whole “bring back the street races” is obviously a vocal minority thing. I literally can’t be mad. It was a fun movie and in a world where every movie made nowadays is just some political prop piece for identity politics, I’ll settle for some unrealistic action scenes

Honestly, this fact makes me cry just saying, but from what I've heard, it was Paul who kept everything in the films as grounded to reality as possible, as well as being a car enthusiast

God f9 was absolutely terrible but I gotta admit that ending scene where dom says there's still an empty seat and Brian pulls up in his skyline gave me chills it was such a sweet little scene. Only good part about the movie.

Han is my favorite character in the Fast & Furious franchise and Tokyo Drift is my favorite movie of the franchise. I'm not a fan of how they tried to bring Han back with that bs line of "Well Mr. Nobody has a way of making things look real" without showing anyone how he actually did it other than hinting at and having people assume some kind of insane illusion technology. It just feels like a bogus reason in order to revive a character from the dead.
There's no stakes in these movies anymore. No one actually dies and no even gets hurt in car crashes or stunts in these later movies. As someone who grew up watching these Fast & Furious movies since the first one I'm dissapointed to see what the franchise has devolved into from what it was with the original three movies.
You reaction is exactly what I expected 😂. I was all in for the elevation of outrageous stunts, but this one had me like “bro…”
I told you a few FF films ago, be prepared for F9’s physics and reality shattering. I’ve seen every FF film in the movie theaters. F9 is the only one I finished with my face in my palms.
I didn't go thru comments, so I don't know if anyone told you already Seb - but the girl who was starting the race for young Dom and Jakob was actually Letty - so no wonder that she acted unbothered (true to the character ;) )
That wooden bridge with rope holding it up could definitely hold up tons of pounds of vehicles also the ROPE that Dom and Letty had snag their car and swing them would totally hold up their extremely heavy car especially with the momentum and speed they were at… rope is invulnerable we all know this 😅😂
Even if the cable was made of adamantium, when they swong from It, they should have Lost the entre front rier instead of Tarzán It... Plus, neither of dom OR Letty had seatbelts on, they Crash against the mountain, do massive barrel rolls and neither had a single Scratch.
Also no, that Bridge could had NEVER been able to wistand the weight of those Cars while crumbling upon itself.

Watch F 10 you will like it a lot, it feels a lot more like the earlier fast and furious movies with the tone and feel of the movie and the unbelievable stuff didn’t draw me away as much as in Fate or F9

Those cars FLY when things go real wrong. The wind catches under the undercarriage (which is completely smooth due to all the plates underneath the car so essentially the car becomes a big wing.
Nowadays they have flaps to counter such things but even then it can still happen. There's videos online of the crashes, would recommend looking it up if you wanna see some weird ass physics in action (since you'd expect such a heavy car to always be planted... wind resistance and cold air/warm air stuff is scary shit at high speeds)
This movie was straight fire, gotta not focus on the how and why and just enjoy the cool stunts and shit and fighting they do , greatest franchise ever

@@Brad02K I disagree, I like 4 because of simple it was. It was basically a continuation of the first film. Nothing was over-the-top, and Brian & Dom shared the spotlight instead of Dom running a team full of everybody. And the movie made sense, unlike these recent ones. Also, there was true street racing in 4.

3:02 it actually does make sense but it’s hard to explain. If you really know what you’re doing and you’re comfortable, then being careful slows you down and can cause you to make mistakes as opposed to relying on your abilities you know. It’s like when a boxer is confident and sloppy, but he gets ko’s and then changes his style to be more in line with what’s considered “proper” but then gets knocked out. Does that make more sense to you? I also think it’s grange to nitpick the younger actors. They can’t get them actually young. The people playing young vin and cena look convincing enough. You literally knew who they were as soon as you saw them which is the point

8, 9 and Hobbs and Shaw have been far to ridiculous and bad 😂 I'm yet to watch 10 but i bet it'll suffer from the same stuff
Also my biggest grudge is Han coming back, sure i love the character but they shouldn't have brought him back. The character had been established dead for YEARS. One of the best parts of his character through 4, 5 and 6 was the subtext of knowing if he decides to go to Tokyo he'll die. And then they added another layer to it by revealing it was Shaw who murdered him. IT WAS PERFECT. Then they brought him back and ruined that crash scene and removed half the meaning of his character

Saw Fast 10 and tbh WAY better than 9 and BY FAR the best villain in the franchise. They took a step back from the crazy scenes and only had like 2 or 3 actual unrealistic/ slightly unrealistic scenes in the 2 hrs of screen time and I enjoyed every second of it

Yes and no. There's something very important when writing any work of fiction which is suspension of disbelief. We know that the things happening in the movie don't answer to our set of physics, but they still have to follow the rules if their own universe. In the first few movies, the universe was pretty grounded, the crew were thieves, they did races, and they were very much humans in their strength and durability. Compare that to now, where they all are superhumans and profesional marksmen, it makes absolutely no sense. At this point, if you were to only watch fast 1 and fast 9, you couldn't believe they are in the same universe since they've completely shattered their rules, to the point where it's impossible to suspend your disbelief and it just becomes laughable

The fast and furious franchise progressively abandoned all its core rumes and ideas to replace them with over the top spectacle. If the franchise had always been this way, then I woumdn't care, but the fact that it isn't consistent with how the characters and universe were introduced is what makes it hard to watch

The only opinion i have is, dont watch this like you are watching the news. Watch this movie for what it is, a movie. You will enjoy it alot more.

So yeah, we are ALL thinking the same thing. We all realize the stunts are ridiculously over the top. No one denies that. But that is exactly why were are here. If you want to get real about it, the stunts started getting crazy in the 2nd film. No one gets through 8 films and then calls the 9th one "too dumb".
That is part of why the franchise is good. The franchise knows it's ridiculous and simply rolls with it.
As for the scene where Dom got arrested by those women, they are not a random appearance. There is actually a connection and reason for them being there. Remember Hobbs and Shaw? Remember the team of women they visited to get supplies? Yeah, it's them. Dom knows Shaw's mom, and so the connection is there.
The 10th film actually dials back the stunts a little, but there are a lot more throughout.
The story and plot is very simple and predictable yes. But the pieces do all fit together. But no one watches these films for that.

the shift in seriousness to absolute dogshit ridiculousness is probably even more impacting on Seb considering he’s watched through all of them one after another, week after week, whereas most of us have had to wait a year or two in between movies. can’t imagine the utter disappointment he feels at the direction of the movies 😭😭
They went from Need For Speed to GTA for real haha, always a fun adventure though
