The Jumanji movies really gave Jack Black a chance to show off how great an actor he is.
Honestly, (apart from Kung Fu Panda) this is my favorite Jack Black role. He's a hilarious girl.
I first saw him in School of Rock, where I think he was basically playing himself. This movie showed me he can do great character work while being hilarious and not over the top or offensive. He's great lol

Just a reminder that in the first movie, Alex (little Bethany’s dad) said that they named their daughter Bethany after the girl that saved his life so they probably talked about her before and she probably would have understood when he came back🤷♂️😂

Fridge *really* seems to have it bad when going into Jumanji for the second time as not only is he in a non-badass avatar again but said avatar is also given several more weaknesses and the first one to lose a life. This all seems extrememly unfair until you remember that, at the end of the last film, Fridge was the one who dropped the bowling ball on it to try and destroy it. Makes sense that Jumanji is pissed off with him!

Interesting fact: Jurgen the Brutal was another player, not an NPC like Nigel. You can tell because when Spencer hit him in the chest, his strengths and weaknesses chart came up. Only characters have that. That is according to the director.

@@ArcofCarona I read an interview with Jake Kasdan, the director, and he said that only characters that are other players, not non-player characters, have strength and weaknesses charts. Don't think you can get more authoritative about a film than what the director says.

The reason the guy looks more vicious this time is 'cause it's a different guy. This one is the guy who played The Hound in GOT.
And seeing him next to the Rock was like whoa he is tall!! Makes me want to see the Rock next to the Mountain specifically the Mountain that killed Oberyn.
I think the first Jumanji reboot was made as a "family movie," but then the audience was so largely adults that they loosened the rules a bit for the next one (hence the swearing and the grown-up big name cast). That's my theory anyway.
Yeah, my kids can’t see either reboot movie. The adult humor is way too much… the swearing, we can get around, but the innuendo is just not ok.
But I have both dvd’s in my queue to watch them soon.

Such good performances all around. The last one was good with the Jumanji actors portraying the teens, but with the number of bodies that got swapped in this one took the performances to another level. Making up to 3 actors portray a single character's full arc and making single actors be part of multiple characters' arcs really showcase the acting skills.

Imagine if the four main characters meet with the avatars from the game...like the actual personalities of the Dr Bravestone, Mouse Finbar, Ruby Roundhouse, Shelby Oberon, and Seaplane Mcdonough, etc.
That end scene had me so excited. I agree that this one was just as good as the first. Or second technically? Yeah. Your laugher made this even better.
Author's Saving Throw: One of the complaints about the last film was that Kevin Hart, unlike the other actors, did not sound or act any different than he normally does, instead just acting like himself. In this one, Hart does a Danny Glover impression to great effect, representing Milo being in control of the avatar.
which is crazy, since I feel like that's kinda the point lol similar personalities, but in a completely different body, so he has to humble himself.. it wouldn't have worked otherwise, imo

As far as another Jumanji, all four stars want to come back but they're all in huge demand. The writers are still working on a script good enough to get them all back together. If we're lucky, it'll be 2023 before we see another one..

This movie is just so gold. I really like how they're focusing more on the adults and adolescents for these rather than really focusing on kids. Seeing the end credit I think there will be a third movie, but seeing that covid came up I don't think they're working on it yet and otherwise they're probably still working on the idea/script. But yeah, there should totally be a 3rd (4th?) movie

Saw these in the cinemas and boy I don't think I have ever laughed that much. Think it was the last movie viewing I've been to since shit hit the fan. Man, I miss shoving popcorn in my face finishing it before the movie has even started..
I feel like you would really enjoy reacting to Jungle Cruise on Disney+ or Red Notice on Netflix! Both are excellent movies featuring the Rock and have some A-listers in their casts #Bingers

I have to admit that when I heard they were making another Jumanji movie I was worried that it was just a cash grab. I was wrong. These movies made me laugh so hard and I really enjoyed them. I love the nod to Robin Williams in the first one of these. For some reason, I get a lump everytime I see and hear it. Great reaction.

This one really was next level. It’s so funny but it’s not cringe. It’s so well balanced with the cast, the connection between the Kevin’s and Dwayne’s characters is very good, I remember that at the time they said that it was easier to play them as old friends because that’s what they are in real life and they also had more freedom to improv lines. This movie has amazing script and direction, it’s so so funny but it knows how to get serious but not so sad that it totally ruins the comedy , and Akwafina was a perfect addition to the cast
Me watching this movie 4 years later with more knowledge for actors and realizing that I’ve seen “awkwafina” in more than just “riya and the last dragon”😳 (and then realizes she’s from “the bad guys”)😊

This is actually the 3rd one, the previous one was part 2. The original came out in the 90s and starred Robin Williams RIP. Was also very good.
The only thing I felt they missed with this film was the beginning of the plot. Would've have been so easy to make it so the grandpa accidentally entered jumanji when he stumbled across the game and so they all went in to rescue him. Felt the plot they used was weak but the rest was hilarious!

Technically this was the third Jumanji, there's the 1995 Jumanji with Robin Williams, in 2017 Jumanji: Welcome to the jungle and 2019 Jumanji: The Next Level. I think I heard they were making a 4th but that might have been just a rumor. Jumanji: The Next Level is the second Jumanji with The Rock, Karen Gillan, Jack Black and Kevin Hart.

Jumanji 4 definitely in the works with the same cast and possibly new characters but the director Jake Kasdan has a movie called Red One in 2023 so he wants to start production of Jumanji after that so could be 2023/24 when we get more news
