What kind of a planning is this? If this is a critical project, why would not have a Plan B and back ups and alternate sources? These are some of the basics of project management. Hope they do not do the same for AMCA prog. Rolls Royce has offered and India should take up that offer to have a back up to GE414 engines. Same for procurement of Rafael fighters for Navy. Why did they eliminate F18s early in the prog. They should have kept them in the race and have both of them compete each other for price.
Instead of manufacturing a 4th generation Aircraft, India should focus on 5+ generation Aircraft and Increase their Drones capabilities and number of drones to counter other Aircrafts, neutralise enemies defence capabilities and help our Aircraft in case of any strikes. Carrying 50-100 drones in Aircraft for different purposes are far better than carrying just 8 missiles but if we make mix with both capabilities then that will be flawless
