old post i know but all people with an issue look up reflowing kenwood head unit.basically the solder cracks on the dauighter board chip.use of a hot air gun will bring it back to life.bought a dead dmx7017dabs and after a reflow it now works perfectly.quite common on kenwood units as the chip in question is furthest away from fan so gets poor cooling

these are junk, i have a dnx891hd just sent in for 4th time to fix, bout to sell it and be rid of it
