- In this video I show you how to remove and fix the cup holder on the e60 Bmw 5 series. Simple to remove and replace and to glue the cover back on. Video is a little long for being a basic glue job but I try to explain as much as I could so you know what you will run into when doing the job. Thanks for watching

Normally I always give a like for people taking their time and making these videos. When I found the information was very good I hit the subscribe button.
So I definitely hit both buttons.
About 12 years ago I came across a video at random that showed how to fix the cup holder in my expedition. It's basically like a BMW it's more in the center of the dashboard and it holds two drinks.
The video has gone on to say the broken part should still be in there or less someone had taken it out. I went right to the driveway and sure enough the spring that was still in there. The person went on to say that you can fix it like the factory had but it will break again. Then he showed that all you needed to do was put two tiny screws in place and it should never break again. 12 years later it still works.
I'm looking forward to going and looking at your previous videos. Again thank you for showing this fix. Seeing that it is 2:00 in the morning I am going to go out and fix mine.

is the removal the same for the drivers cupholder? i just ordered one havent put it in yet but seen guys take the whole trim piece off. is it possible to take it out without ripping the dash apart

What if the button falls out as well? How is the button put back in so that it doesn’t fall out?
i havnt seen it when the button falls off, usually its the cover, from the mechanism it looks like theirs a tiny spring and a latch, ill have to take another good look to see if it can be snapped together but thats only if you still have all the pieces, if not, think only option will be to replace the cup holder, maybe see if someone have a broken one for sale with the cover missing and just use your cover.

You can get it at your nearest bmw dealer. Cost around 150-200$

You need a new whole dashboard with cupholders holes
same thing happened to mine too
i usually always see if on the passenger side...i think most of the time the driver knows how to make it open but a passenger just grabs it.
