  • Graduate students at Temple University have faced retaliation for going on strike and asserting the radical notion that they should make a living wage, receive decent benefits, and get dignity on the job. I stand in strong solidarity with the workers of Temple University Graduate Students' Association.

As an alumnus and former member of TUGSA, the administration thought that we were really stupid. Around 2009-10, the adjuncts were trying to organize, and they sent these e-mails saying, "If you are a union worker, you have to take the pay scale, but if you're independent, you're free to ask for more," as if the adjuncts weren't already on a scale. They want to get rid of tenured professors and turn everyone into low-income adjuncts. The administration is the living embodiment of "knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing." Thank you for bringing this to light, Bernie!

The audacity of Temple. The corporate consumption of private schools is frightening. The money to be extracted by the top 3 people and crumbs are fed to essential workers that need a living wage. Temple makes so much money. Disgusting corporate union busting tactics are on display. Cost of living for where you need to be? You get paid how much? Half the cost of living. Why? So 3 people get paid... how much?
The top down system is broken. The resources extracted mainly by people that don't need it. The SUPER RICH want it all.
We all, 90% of US for certain, are making them richer because we pay. In a society we ALL should have the obligation to pay income taxes.
To support the society that enables us to be is critical. When the SUPER RICH don't pay anything and in fact get many of OUR tax dollars. We ALL need to stand up and be counted. Always call your rep and senators to add your voice for equitable taxation. It would be incredible for all of US! Let's move America forward as a society where we all respect our differences and ourselves.

As a small business owner, *I* *LOVE* *UNIONS!* I Love Unions because I need what EVERY small business owner needs... I need Customers; aka Consumers with Money.
Union Workers organize and demand proper wages = Money.
Union Workers have Money and therefore, can become my valuable Customers.
Non-union Workers are too timid and/or ignorant to organize and are therefore, weaker and poorer. They choose to be poor slave and they are NOT going to become My (or Your) customers, they are a drag upon our entire economy.
I LOVE UNIONS BECAUSE UNIONS CREATE MIDDLE CLASS!
... and because I want Our country to have a Big and Strong Middle Class, thanks to Unions.

Biden made the decision to stop a strike that would have crippled the economy and caused far more inflation.
So instead they got the railroads to commit to everything but the paid sick days, then after that kept working on it. Now they got CSX workers paid sick days and are currently working on the rest of the companies. The Biden administration is For The People. Witch anyone paying attention could have told you.
