Can you guys imagine the last eight years under a Sanders presidency? We would be living in a completely different world right now. I admire your unending strength and perseverance senator.
It is such a huge shame that Bernie Sanders (I LOVE him, and I am a German American) is not ten or fifteen years younger. It is too bad that the American people were never enlightened enough to overwhelmingly vote for him. Bernie is FOR the people unlike his Republican opponents. And I also agree with Bernie on this crazy war.

Perfect example why "radical" shouldnt be a pejorative by default. Also, its more of a common perspective than one might think watching the news. Especially among under 40s. It just isnt a major dealbreaker for most not personally affected voters apparently.
When a country keeps shifting right, the meaning of "center" starts shifting too. Centrism is so relative that it's unreliable. We should have stances but we shouldn't care about whether we're sitting in the middle or not. If being against genocide means I'm not a centrist, then I don't WANT to be a centrist.
@@OtepRallomaeven your position in others view seems overly leftist (this is coming from someone who isn’t fond of the conservatives or liberals) by claiming that the country keeps shifting “right”, most are against many killings of civilians but the idea of calling it a genocide is plagued in controversy as to its definition and the way the war is being handled by Israel and the world. Pretty sure most will agree that the suffering of many is horrible, but that’s about it in what people will agree on
@liljs4189 I don't think there's any real argument about the genocide if one knows the decades of suffering that Israel has been inflicting on Palestine. This didn't start as a response to October 7. And if someone argues that it isn't, I don't want to be considered one of them. So yeah. I'll take overly leftist if that's what calling this what it is, means.

False Dichotomy. Palestinians are not the same thing as Hamas. And Israelis are not the same thing as the ostensibly fascist Netanyahu regime. One can be against both Hamas and against Netanyahu and the atrocities that are perpetrated in his name.
As a European, I thank you for being the voice of reason for years. One of the very few politicians who actually believes something, instead of losing their believes after years of power struggles. Harris might not be perfect, but she‘s better than Trump, ESPECIALLY when it comes to gaza. Netanyahu wants Trump, because he would just let him continue his genocide and might even support him in doing that.
@@jonc8561 I really don’t get this argument from numerous perspectives. First of I - as an European citizen - don’t understand this fear of socialism/communism in the US. My perspective might be flawed, but I feel like having socialistic ideas immediately disqualifies one in every political matter what so ever in the US. And I seriously don’t get why. In Europe there are numerous parties that have written down socialism as a political goal and these parties are frequently the biggest/second biggest party of a country. In fact: the social democrats are in office in Poland, England and Germany at the time (there might be more, I’m not aware of every European government there is) and those countries are certainly not doing that bad at the time or at all. Trying to improve the situation of the lower and middle classes and strengthen the equality of opportunity for everyone appears not to be the end of democracy nor the end of economic growth, it‘s just an idea that (as I see it) is worth fighting for. Nobody can influence in what family he‘s born into, if lower or upper class, and yet it defines so much of that person‘s future life, so why shouldn’t we try to change this. Furthermore I don’t think that supporting people who "failed" in our system to a degree that they can live a proper life is a crime but just the human thing to do. That‘s the one thing. The other thing is: Bernie Sanders certainly is no radical socialist. His ideas are things that are mere standard in most of Europe and are fought in the US in favour of what I can only interpret as a radical and blind support of pure capitalism without asking why (I may be wrong in terms of this interpretation, as I said, I‘m not an American) and without asking "how could we change the system to serve the people more". So overall: I don’t get the fear of socialism in the US but even further: Bernie Sanders is no socialist, so I really don’t get that this is something brought up against him this often (but I think that it speaks for him that I quite often hear "he’s a socialist" but until now I’ve never heard any argument that really debunked any of his positions).
How is she better than Trump on Gaza? She was part of the administration that gave Israel carte blanche to murder 40k civilians and commit heinous war crimes. She supported dangerous escalations against Iran that threaten to plunge the whole region into war. It's not possible to be worse than Kamala on this issue.
I love how he said "were worse," like he acknowledges Kamala and Biden are pretty bad on this issue. Wish this kind of nuance existed across politics frankly

Simple answer: For whatever reason Clinton and Biden were the preferred candidates by the party This is why the two-party system is shit. He’s not President because the Clinton machine blocked his path. He was clearly the favorite of the voters, but instead the machine decided that Hillary should be the candidate. Idk if you can actually say that any country is successful rn. You think the current cost of living and the "profits" from the exploitation of underpaying workers (in any job) are indicators of sUcCeSs???
I am twenty seven years old and each day I wonder if I'll join the twenty seven club. If you didn't know, that's the coloquial club where 'good people' die young, typically by suicide. I've found myself admittedly thinking about ending my life well before this age. From the start, I understood the world was unsafe and at any moment, I could die. I've sat on self reflection and spent a lot of time to arrive at the conclusion that this was because of the nuke. Why? Every day I wake up wondering if I'm worth it to live. I never noticed I was asking that question, or repressing it, until I was medicated with depression and ADHD first. I reached out to the medical system with trust it would give me consent about treating my mental illness along the way, and they did. I eventually discovered I am depressed, anxious, and disassociated with life. My medication brought me up from "I don't want to die every day" to "I think I can do this tomorrow" to "I know who I am now". I believe in empirical data, science, and fact. I've learned the best way to answer thoughts of yourself is to ask questions. I began to ask myself, why did I think I wasn't worth living for? Well, it starts with being able to worry about a job. I became so distracted spending time at work that I didn't realize I can't pay the bills, no matter how much I work. Then, as a male, I arrived at the conclusion that my work was ultimately meaningless. I began to fall into the trap of male anxiety and 'how can I fulfill my purpose in life?'. I came to the conclusion that I always wanted to refuse the expectations society had for me, as a man. It wasn't right that I was told not to be sensitive, that I was incorrigible, it wasn't right for me to walk around ignoring my emotions and suppressing my body. I was raised believing in God, that the Church would tell me my existence is wrong. What message do I, as a young person, receive if I am truly transgender? If it's difficult for me to find a job, if it's difficult for me to find community, what message am I being told? What am I told when I'm not allowed to eat? Ultimately, I felt like society was telling me I was not allowed to live. So I asked, why was I not allowed to live? I looked at the world around me. Why is my existence wrong? Because people expect otherwise? I recall a point in time where gay rights became human rights in America. Why is it even on the table to remove human rights? Why does someone not deserve a job, not deserve food, not deserve to eat? Because we have decided to accept a system where we believe a dollar or two in raised wages will make it so people like me cannot eat. When I go to the store I now wonder how many people cannot eat? I see so many people stealing. I also see so many employees not caring. Why would the employees not care enough? Because they don't even get paid to eat. It's truly a walk in and steal it society - there are no consequences unless you are different, and we have made that very clear. So as a young individual, part of the new generation, I feel the message delivered to me is clear - kill yourself. You don't deserve to eat. It's easier to take the food from you while you are distracted about whether or not AI is coming for your rights. Meanwhile, the right to use a bathroom has been put behind a paywall, the right to drink water now costs money at any restaurant, and the truth is you can go steal from walmart right now - the whole store and nobody will stop you. Somewhere along the way, the dollar lost its meaning. What does the dollar mean, Senator Sanders? What does the choice of excess wealth of the people truly represent? I believe you know wealth is a measurable fact of freedom of speech. Truly, our wages mean we have lost the access to food. And we are okay with that. Someone told us we do not deserve to live, and we said that was okay.
I wish I could tell you who to blame. But then I notice the recent events. Zelenskiy, Ukraine, sent a missile at Putin's nuclear bunker. So I asked a really important question. Why does Putin have a nuclear bunker? Why does Trump have a nuclear bunker? Are they planning for the end of the world, or the beginning of a new one? Are they seeking safety in shelter and planning to use the bomb? The question poses an uncomfortable threat that's fast pacing soon. The people will be gone entirely by the choice of kings. This has escalated beyond the cold war, as even the cold war never had American arms land inside Russia. But why would America even feel the need to hurt someone's nuclear bunker? We should question the obvious. Why is it acceptable for a world government to decide who gets to live when the nukes fall? I ask myself, and notice even more recent events. Or headlines. I understand now that the English word is a tool used to evoke emotion. I see Zelenskiy being praised for saying Trump being elected will "end the war". And they are using doublespeak, also known as devaluing the meaning of words, to convince the world Zelenskiy believes Trump will save the day. How does Trump removing aid possibly mean the war will end? How can media coverage portray this in any positive light? Then I realized the true reasoning. Trump has planned for the end of the world. He has a nuclear bunker. He will be safe. Zelenskiy isn't coming here for help anymore, he's asking Europe. Zelenskiy believes Trump will end the world by being elected. He has seen the war first hand and attended those very same frontlines. Why did he choose these words instead of saying the obvious answer? Zelenskiy is confident now that the world is ending. He has avoided this entire time to use any Russian lying tactics. Now he feels forced to comfort anyone that the war will end. He just doesn't seem to answer how. I'd like to think the world won't end. Then I remind myself, again, this is beyond the cold war. How many countries are involved in Ukraine now? North Korea, the hermit nation, has perched its own head to participate. How many more hermit nations need to participate before we start calling it World War 3? Why can we not use that term now? We are in it presently. We are at the threat of kings deciding the fate of many and it began with saying, "You don't deserve to eat, I do." and it will end with saying "You don't deserve to see the new nuclear world. I do." Thank you for reading my suffering and my story. I know with confidence now what my place in the world is. It is to do my part in conveying human emotion before it is wiped off the earth. I hope you see the same urgency. Why do we have nuclear bunkers? Who deserves to live? You, and everyone else in America, deserves to eat.
You people have slithered so far to the right by now that Bernie appears like an extremist to you. From an European perspective, Bernie is merely centre left. Hearing Americans call Obama and Biden leftists would be pant-wettingly hilarious, if it were not so sad. A Bernie presidency would be the best thing to happen to the US. I've not lost hope yet. I appreciate your optimism, but at this point, it would be foolish to hope for it. First and foremost being that he isn't even in this year's race. Harris isn't really. She's hinted multiple times she doesn't support Biden and has already planned to remove most of his foreign policy team. She's just a coward and too scared of AIPAC.
@RyanRogers-o1p Kamala is not pro-genocide in intent, she is, however, pro-diplomacy, pro-democracy (which Israel purports to be), and has to balance competing interests in the region (Middle East) which unfortunately indirectly allows Israel's condemnable actions in Gaza to continue. But both she and Biden have said that they understand Israel's right to defend itself but don't agree with the continuous actions of Israel in Gaza, hence the ongoing efforts to try to broker a peace deal. Trump is okay with Netanyahu having a free for all. He could care less if he kills everybody. So please do not imply they are remotely similar. But Netanyahu actually is not happy with Kamala because she called a moron or something like that, and it got back to him. She definitely does not support his actions in Gaza. But she is not a one-woman show and outside of disagreeing with Netanyahu's actions, it's not as simple sanctioning and taking aggressive action against country they have strategic alliances with in the Middle East and need to maintain. We don't want a genocidal Israel, but we definitely don't want an untethered Israel and one that only adds to the instability there. Imagine Israel forming allegiance elsewhere. The fact remains that behind closed doors, we have no idea what the Biden administration has tried to do to constrain Netanyahu. But Trump will do absolutely nothing because he doesn't care.
So your choice is for the US to actually get involved with genocide? KH wanted to get involved in several additonal battle fields that any humanitarian shouldn't do. Is DTs choice to sell arms, give money, and block aid is equally horrendous, yrs, but at least we aren't sending our citizens there.

A dedication to the values of pluralistic democracy and not to the all corrupting influence of power.
The working class deserved to have him as president, and they still do. I voted for Harris to support Sanders' efforts in congress because that's the path that he's now chosen .
Bernie, if you were born Canadian, you would've been prime minister for a good many years. Politicians with as much compassion, competency, and integrity as you've shown are hard to find.
Senator Sanders, you are an absolute GEM. There is absolutely nobody in politics today who comes anywhere near your calibre. Thank you so much for this; it is SUCH a necessary statement at this time.
To me, Senator Sanders is the custodian of the soul of America. It is the highest honour I have granted to anyone, and I don't even live in America. He's wise. He's smart. He has empathy and cares for our planet.

He's a socialist.
@@jonc8561who
Is being a socialist meant to be a bad thing? Do you even understand what socialism is?

Hello Bernie,
As a transgender person, I wanted to share with you my struggle.
I do."
Thank you for reading my suffering and my story. I know with confidence now what my place in the world is. It is to do my part in conveying human emotion before it is wiped off the earth. I hope you see the same urgency.
Why do we have nuclear bunkers? Who deserves to live? You, and everyone else in America, deserves to eat.

Nice way to phrase it. How's England going with those rape gangs ?
how is harris pro-genocide when the biden admin and her want as much aid into gaza as possible? /gen

While Bernie did not explicitly call it a genocide, he did call it “a violation of international law.” He also very clearly wanted an end to the war as soon as possible stating, “we must demand an immediate end to Israel’s indiscriminate bombing.” In this quote, he also calls out Israel for killing many innocent Palestinian civilians for the stated purpose of attacking Hamas.
