Huey Lewis is not just a great singer, but a great harmonica player and front man. He also seems a decent bloke. He and the band improved everyone's lives a little bit in the West during the 80s. We salute you, sir.
His early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.
I know where his ranch is. I used to be a mormon missionary in montana. We didn't try to convert them we just ate all their food while Huey was touring. Just kidding. But his kid told us that he's "still famous in Europe". I remember that month well. I got bit by a great dane, and hit by a Ford pickup while riding my mountain bike in a suit. I can't believe that I gave up listening to music for 2 years. Now I play keyboards with Ringling Bros. circus. Go figure.
I worsop this man and his band and sound guy if he ever need another engnieer he just needs to call I'd drop evrything to be around this kind of tallent
he has a house in california and lived there in the beginging of his career, he moved there with his wife and kids to probably give them privacy and to have some sort of a more normal life out of the spotlite. it makes sense for him he likes to fish and ride horses.
Saw them in concert in 1987 in Rome...
They used to be my favourite group and everybody loved Huey, they still do...!
I saw them in concert in Fort Worth on October 28th, 2011. That was one of the happiest nights of my life!
