Thank you for sharing this video. I am a linux user and your tutorial was very helpful. I have a OnePlus 6t and the first time I tried this was using twrp and it wouldn't work; it was supper stressful. The way you demonstrated flashing the device was much easier to follow than other guides on youtube. I just wish that the oneplus was as easy to flash as the google pixel. Just on a side note: when using the terminal and you mess up on a command, like when you forgot "sudo", you can redo the command without typing the whole thing out again just by using "sudo !!". What this will do is run the last command as sudo. Another thing, is to use "ctl+c" to kill the terminal command/process if you mess up, instead of closing the whole terminal window and starting over. Thanks again. cheers!
Thanks! Control + c will help a lot moving forward, pretty sure I tried cntl + q like it was a text document haha. Sudo !!... Well, I just forget sometimes Glad this helped you! Flashing via ADB is so much easier to understand than TWRP
Updated video here for LineageOS for MicroG based on Android 11 - ua-cam.com/video/AWaz8O5cjOI/v-deo.html You can still use this video if you want Android 10. Just make sure to pick a good version based on the instructions from my MSM video here: ua-cam.com/video/0gGuF1K2Bdo/v-deo.html
Bricked my s8+ the first time I tried this stuff honestly it was my fault I knew that I missed a step but I was tired and wanted it over with so I did open the boot loader and and broke my phone currently I'm using an old s5 neo while I save up for a pixel 4a where I'm hoping to install grapheneos (since the last time I've learned a lot more so the risk of something going wrong should be slim)
The pixels have well developed ROM installers that make it pretty difficult to mess up. Samsungs are rough, I'm pretty sure they don't have the same recovery tools that you find with OnePlus or Motorola phones Alternative to GrapheneOS, CalyxOS is also pretty sweet
Are there any other custom roms for the OnePlus 7T? I was only able to find a couple of the. The support from the dev community is not at all close to what I expected before buying the handset.
Yes, there's a bunch you can find under this link forum.xda-developers.com/f/oneplus-7t-roms-kernels-recoveries-other-deve.9253/ Some (such as XTENDED) come with Google services pre-installed though so make sure the ROM matches your objectives.
@@Faiyaz1998 oh, glad you found a solution! Was worried you ran into something that harmed your phone That's a really good note. Thanks for the update!
Just plug in an active SIM card for network access You should always update over the air before flashing custom ROMs. A burner SIM may be necessary to fully mask your ID on that step (roughly $25 after tax in CA). Just give the carrier a fake name Verizon may not work correctly with this phone because their network is on an unusual frequency
@@NicholasHenkey I've looked into different phone companies and none of them seem to accept those kind of phones They only seem to accept googled Androids and then also iPhones, but degoogled and Linux they don't seem to accept
@@RealDystopianFrog I'm running on T-Mobile right now and this phone should work on any GSM network (ATT & international). The antennas are physically there You are correct though, phone companies are like all other big businesses: reliant on corporate welfare from the US government. The glowing ones hate even moderately secure technology so there's no guarantees they won't lie to congress and leave us with paperweights. It's a risk
Noted, sorry about that. Most of the important steps are on the computer (not the phone) Working a higher quality updated video but it might be a minute because of computer hardware issues

They're making it harder to do this with each coming phone. I hate google, they're literally a trojan.
They are making it harder, and Google was a Trojan. It's time for us to be familiar with Linux and start supporting Pine64

bro mine is T-variant. It keeps stucking at the bootloader. It is not loading fastboot mode. What is the problem here, i did everything right.
Hey, sorry I missed your comment. What step were you on when you got stuck? A video timestamp will help me to research it for you

Mac address is static
How do you get phone service and data on them, though?

Need help with T-mobile version
Where are you stuck? A time stamp or error specifics will help

Does it work for samsung galaxy a20?
No, each of these videos is unique to the phone being degoogled
