Shelby sounded dumb cuz she was defending Robin taking Mia to Ghana but she kept Quinton in the dark about his own daughter. Harper had a point and Quinton knew it too😂😂
I like how she conveniently ignored that REAL question!😂....she would've had to admit that mother's DONT always have their child's best interests at heart!🤷🏾♂️
I don't think it was "settling" for him. I mentioned it in another post, but Harper and Jordan were definitely compatible, but Harper is all ego and makes decisions based upon what is best for him and not necessarily what is best for his relationships (both romantic and non romantic). As much as his relationship with Jordan was romanticized they wouldn't have worked in their 20s and 30s. She was just as driven as him and would have never played the background for Harper the way Robyn did and he knew that. Harper NEEDED a Robyn in the beginning. He needed a woman who was malleable and willing to take a backseat and put her dreams on hold so that he could give his dreams and passions the best effort he could give it. The one who settled, and grew to regret it, was Robyn.
It was Lance in my opinion. He kept forgiving Harper damn near every time. And he forgave his wife and it was hard for him when she past. That's a lot to carry for him.
Yeah my girl used Quentin to get me to finally watch the franchise 😂 “You’ll like Terrance Howard in this! He’s a smartass like you.” She didn’t lie 😂😂😂
The whole relationship is based on narcissism and is nothing but one sided which was always about Harper and never once stop to consider his wife's wants and needs and that is what Murch was talking about relationship that is based on narcissism and not love will never work out it always falls apart.
They wouldn't have lasted if they got together in the beginning. The fact of the matter is that Harper and Lance aren't so different, which was why Harper was (low-key) jealous of Lance. Harper could never handle a woman more successful than him and for most of their friendship, Jordan was the more successful of the two. He would have resented her success. Later on in life though (ie, at the end of this series) I could see Jordan and Harper giving it a real shot and being in a successful relationship.
He didn't deserve Jordan either Harper was a lying dishonest conniving dude from the start who wasn't creative enough to write a book without putting all his friends business in it.

1:06 MURCH’S LINE REALLY SUMMARIZED THE WHOLE BEST MAN SERIES. harper is selfish!! for 3 decades, harper has been the most selfish person. he played on robyn’s feelings, used his friends for a book deal then a movie. used lance consistently for stories on his life. robyn taking mia to ghana is extreme but lets not turn a blind eye to harper’s doing.,
@@user-bn8ui9wm3u Him sleeping with Mia doesn’t have anything to do with the daughter though. And let’s be real Robin is a huge part of the problem. Why would she have married a man who she was so opposite than, knew he wanted an old friend, asked her to marry him at somebody else’s wedding!!!! and who she said in her own words “You never just live enough for today. I know you Harper!” She wanted to believe she was different and that she could change him and it didn’t work. She’s as much of a problem in their marriage as he is. Bigger really because she had the power to nip it in the bud and didn’t.
Robyn is wrong for taking their child to a place that makes it difficult for her other parent to be a consistent presence in her life, but let’s be real, Harper did not have his child’s BEST interest in mind. Just his own. Even with his own child in the same city he’s going to always prioritize his career over her
As he should I'm sorry woman always say the want the man who charming, rich, intelligent, smart, hard working, and actually has a career but wen they get it he's "never at home enough" "I'm always going to come second to your career" but isn't that what she want so he can be the traditional man she prayed n hoped for. @@sakkboyy8257 you can have a career and be all of those things while being a spouse who shows up and loves you. Also (edit), he still has enough time to entertain another woman who he knew he always wanted but couldn’t be there for his wife? Bye. He was just selfish
The most ideal marriage in this show was Murch and Candace, the way they connected and communicated was really amazing. Harper could actually go to Ghana and see what her wife Robyn enjoyed since he had money. Travelling is not difficult but he chose himself and career and even when his family was here it fet like he wasn’t part of his daughter’s life. Robyn was wrong to blindside him but she was the voice of reason., Harper failed to understand her wife on an emotional level, she was looking for a simple life and cared more about the poor that she taught some really good values to her daughter.
This part got cut off but in the beginning when Robyn said “tell them who means so much to you” to Harper. I wanted her to turn around and look at Jordan so bad because that’s who he really loved and wanted to be with since college. But this scene was so intense and funny at the same time. They all did they thing in this scene
I feel you on that. I think Jordan defending Harper to Robyn definitely could've worked especially if Jordan asked how does a mother do that to a child to which Robyn could've responded at least I'm a mother (FIREWORKS!!!). Also a much needed venting by Murch to Harper on why he was portrayed badly in the movie could've been extra fireworks!!!

Harper and Robin were like oil and vinegar; they just never mixed well. I wonder what would happen if Robin and Mia got to Ghana and realized that she's unsatisfied there as well?
Robyn was on some new shyt whenever the wind blew. I give her 30 days in Ghana before she would want to hop to something else. She NEVER should have married Harper; especially knowing in the first movie that he was planning to smash Jordan while they were dating.
When Jordan said “Shelby back tha FACK UP!” And “grow tha FACK up Shelby” had me cryinggggg 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love how Jordan and q stood for what’s right and was on the right side of things and defended him bc Harper was right here…you ain’t taking my daughter to no damn Ghana…

I said what I said. She was wrong HERE.
Never understood why make your daughter move to Ghana. Harper is no a doubt a selfish mf but he was completely right. Robyn has always been wishy washy on what she wanted and hell she never express her feelings at to him.
Harp and Robin should have never gotten married because Robin was always an afterthought and she knew his feelings for Jordan was always going to be a problem. Great scene though.. I just wish it was longer scene and private so it could have been more about them.
Harper is at felt. The whole series we saw Robyn voice what she wanted and Harper just ignore her. She said she did not want to move out of Harlem, she told him she wanted to move out of the country a while ago, she told him she wanted to help her community, she told him she didn’t want to get more money, etc. Harper never listened and he never cared.
You don’t see how she was never decisive? Then she gets mad at someone who is decisive, career oriented, the man knew what it felt like being on the low and having a child on the way not knowing if he can be that father and husband he needed to be for them and now that things are working and he wants to maintain that, he’s the bad guy ?
Nah, fuck that on a stick with sauce. She knew who she married. Harper had always been driven and career-oriented. That's not selfishness. That's putting in the unglamorous, off-camera work to be the best version of yourself in order to provide the way you want to. If he weren't doing that, Robyn would just be sitting up calling him another lazy ass nigga.
@@kalebr560Actually she said she didn't want to move because she wanted to be close to her people. When in reality it was to remain close to dude she was having an emotional affair with. Before then she never even made a peep about it. And even when Harper was doing better it still wasn't enough for her. She was still unhappy. IDK why y'all act like Robin was a problem herself. Let's not even get started about how she put their daughter in danger at a riot. I get Harper being mad that Robyn wants to take Mia to Ghana because that’s his child too but at the same time Harper has been making everything about himself from day 1 and everything they said about him was true. Now all of a sudden he “cares” about his family 🙄 He already cheated and then wants to act like father and husband of the year? Nah. Much was a simp and still mad about Harper portraying him a certain way in the book and the movie. Any father who has supported his family would be upset about their ex-spouse trying to move their child out of the country.
Murch was a hoe for that. Your best friend is getting his kid basically taken away from him over Robyn’s selfish wants. Harper was selfish himself but any person can see how foul that is. It’s not like she was moving to New Rochelle. She moved the kid to Ghana, I’m fighting for custody too if that’s the case
Murch was the only one that could say that to Harp to make him see his own behaviors. Quentin’s said the same thing to Harper in the first movie. I don’t think Murch wants him to lose his child, but Harper has always been a bit selfish….
Great performances all around but I just want to put a highlight on Taye. The realism in his acting, voice, mannerisms and facial expressions is incredible. This is my favorite performance by him 👏🏽
This was really hard to watch. Disgusting argument I felt really bad lol why do I love them like they’re my real family? Great actors and actresses 🤎🫶🏾
I don’t care what baggage they both had, separating a child from his father after that many years together is selfish to the max!! Why should his relationship with his child be altered when she’s the one that doesn’t want to be with him??
Exactly! You choose to marry and have a child with that man. Separating a child from an active father, especially a black little girl is very selfish. 👏
The fact that everyone is defending Robyn’s poor behavior is blowing me😩.. Harper is a typical person. He doesn’t read minds and make assumptions about other people.. yes he could’ve slowed down and took the time to talk to his wife about what she desired but like most people he got caught up with life.. if she felt any type of dissatisfaction throughout their relationship she should’ve communicated that.. I can understand if you’ve literally expressed your feelings and tried to talk to him about it on multiple occasions but it didn’t work.. that wasn’t the case.. you can’t judge a person based off of their past if you’re equally apart of the problem.. she could’ve left a long time ago if she was truly unhappy for so long.. it’s disgusting to think that one parent has more rights than the other because it takes two to have a baby.. and if he didn’t want his daughter y’all would be down his throat.. just sad

Murch said the one thing that everybody knows to be true, Harper is selfish. He constantly put himself before others, Robyn and his daughter are no exception. Yes agreed, Robyn shouldn’t have taken Mia to Ghana with her, not without Harper’s permission. Harper has never seen or taken Robyn as an equal partner throughout their entire relationship, he deemed his career to be of more important over Robyn’s. Robyn had her faults and certain moves that she made were completely wrong. At the end of the day the lack of communication between Harper and Robyn ended them.
I finally binged this series and this scene was something I was not ready for it . I couldn’t believe it and I re-winded this scene many times to make sure I was not trippin.
I really didnt like Robyn for deciding to take Mia to Ghana, Harper really wanted the best for his family, and floored tf out of Shelby, Quentin killed me😂😂😂😂
Although you're right about Robin moving to Ghana, you're wrong about Harper overall. Harper wanted the best for his family, but had to be in his terms. Both he and Robin had reasons to be angry here. This is a great scene.
@@shonda79able I respect that, absolutely yes he did want the best for his family but there was a thing called conversations to be had with the spouse and they both didn’t hear or listen to each other
And for her actions, I have not sympathy for a single parent mother. She didn’t care for the betterment of her daughter, when she removed her daughters arm to stop that connection with her father. Selfish
I was🎉 on Harper’s side! I can’t for the life of me understand how he was being selfish when she filed for divorce and she decided to take their child and move to the other side of the country thousands of miles away from her father. Robin was the one being extremely selfish.
Yeah Robyn was 1,000% wrong in trying to take Mia to Ghana away from her dad and I didn’t like how Shelby, Murch and Candace tried to gang up on Harper…..y’all are throwing stones living in glass houses but got nerve to try to tell Harper what to do in his relationship?? Yeah, absolutely not.
Harper was much nicer than I would have been. As soon as Candace said something, I would have turned to Murch and said, “get your wife. This is none of her business and her butting in will cause problems with you and me. Because she is going to keep getting in my business, you’re going to let her, and I’m not going to let that fly. You and I will end up doing whatever. So, could you please get your wife, respectfully?” When Murch came back with that “choose yourself” comment. I would have blasted him as well. I would have said , “ listen, I’m glad you have a new found confidence about you where you can stand up for yourself, but I’m not choosing myself. I’m choosing it daughter. I had no problem with Robin having Mia when I thought I was moving down the road. I gave her the house. I didn’t contest anything at all. That’s not choosing self. I thought you were smart enough to know that. However, she backed me in a corner, I’m defending my fatherhood, and Mia is staying here. If I wanted to be selfish, I could drag her @ss in court. I paid for the house. She would need to find somewhere else to live. So, unless you would be her lawyer pro bono, if I wanted to be selfish, I could do a lot. So, do your research, counselor, before making some statements!l I would have went off on everyone!!! With Shelby, he did right, but too ouch talking. I would have just said, “please don’t talk about motherhood. You lied, you had Nannie’s taking care of your child. So, what’s we you say holds no water. We have nothing to converse about”
While I dont agree with Robyn taking their daughter to Ghana... Harper had a few opportunities to compromise and abide by the "happy wife" code. Instead of moving out of Harlem, he could've surprised Robyn with a small island spot where Quentin and Shelby got married (what she asked for in the first place), could've looked deeper into that spot she was trying to get to open her own bar or whatever it was (I forget), couldve insisted on staying at Robyn's event to support her instead of messing around with Jordan, etc. IJS while you're out in the world chasing your dreams, perhaps make it extra comfortable for the woman who is taking care of home and child.
In relationships people grow with time. I disagree them not getting married, that's how you grow with tough problems working things out in time matters. Thank the Lord for Best Man. My wife's name out your mouth priceless
Harper was a good husband...and he supported Robyn. Unfortunately Robyn was jealous of her husband's success. She should have ran her restaurant...did some charity work, started a blog, lived in that beautiful house ...and closed her complaining mouth. I hated her character
Mannnn ONE thing about black folks... When we argue THIS bad, we start bickering like little ass children, throwing out insults, tossing obscenities around like we don't love each other.... This was the most relatable part of the whole series!
Harper is selfish tho - Should have never married Robyn anyway. Robyn should have never settled even after seeing how close Jordyn and that group was. Anyone would not be priority or survive harper and his close friends. Doomed to fail.
All this over a book robyn really is brown sugar in his book too 🤨🤔😒 im Sorry for my Aquarius brother for being in that position that Africa line did it for me even when we have our breaking points we're hilarious 💯💯💯💯
Only thing that was missing from this scene in this series was a conversation between Murch and Harper on how he didn't like his portrayal in the Unfinished Business movie. I don't know why the writers didn't include it. A messy scene they could've included was an argument between Robyn and Jordan, which could have given another reason on why Jordan has been relatable and supportive to Harper and thus they could've finally gotten together after so many years of sincere friendship. BTW I'm Team Harper....
Murch was just choosing to take out his own frustrations on Harper. Because he felt like he was less than a man due to how he allowed most people to treat him majority of his life. Plus he attacked him because he didn't like how he addressed Candace. He didn't really say anything that ugly to her or him for them to have gotten that upset. When you see two people that you care about in a heated debate like that. You choose to stay out of it. Yes. It is true perhaps Harper could have worked anywhere in the world based on the type of career that he had. But the same thing could have been said about Robyn. From the type her character was introduced to us she was a bit immature and all over the place. In fact they joked about it in the first installment. She was NOT right for making the decision alone to move their daughter to another country period, point, blank. The only way that would be justified is if Harper was violent, abusive to either of them or both, or whatever the case may be. Majority of people in this comment section is speaking from a wounded point of view. Even if everything that he was accused of was true. There are certain things that you just don't do. If they had no children and that is what she wanted to do. Then that would have been cool. But that wasn't considerate, fair, or right of her at all just because she was hurting. Perhaps they could have revisited the idea to move to Ghana as a family later on. Everyone accused him of being selfish but that was VERY selfish of her. Maybe you all don't understand what it actually mean. Also Robyn was NOT innocent in this situation. The writer/writers let us know that she had an affair or considered having one herself. Was she worried about Harper or his feelings then? I believe she even mentioned the dude to Candice earlier on in the series. But man people truly only hear what they want to hear or see what they want to see for the most part and it is really sad. Yes. This is just a show or whatever. But this is why people tend to experience things like this in real life due to not listening to understand, being swift to speak and anger, harboring resentment, fear, rejection issues, abandonment, and unforgiveness. When will it all end? When will people choose to decide to wake up?
No way I can defend Robin suddenly saying she’ll take Mia to the other side of the world to a whole other continent - I’d fight that too. Now Harper is selfish and it is clear that he isn’t physically and emotionally around as much as Robyn wanted for her and Mia which led to them reaching this point. There’s no debate about that. He has the financial means to visit and see them but this only amplifies the emotional and physical distance for Mia and makes it that much harder for him to do so.
I'm team harper simply bc Robyn never said enough. By the time she started bubbling over it was too late. She admitted in therapy that she keeps a lot inside and follows his lead and doesn't want to badger him. Harper has been supportive and tried to love her from his angle and the general concept of taking care of his family, expanding his family's territory (bigger house, better school). Robyn has been on the fly (let's move to the island then jumps off the boat, speaks great detail about dukes with ol boy, but pitches it to harper in a 5 minute call around the holidays when he can't get home) his support was on the nose. She even should've never agreed to the house; he waited for her approval. And because she was feeling warm and fuzzy at the moment she said yes.
This comment gave me a different perspective. I understand that completely. Though Harper cheating still throws me off. It’s hard to defend him. It seemed so out of character
In no way am I defending his past behavior; harper is indeed flawed, but he does have a legitimate point about not wanting his daughter to be taken halfway across the world on his ex wife's whims to be with the produce boy in Ghana, In his mind he's already thinking it's bad enough that her parents are splitting up, no way does he want his daughter's life upended with another drastic change like that, you gotta give respect where respect is due, He may not have been the perfect husband but at least he's trying to be a good father! 😁😉💯👍

Robin chose a bunch of things over Harper. She was a horrible communicator and she secretly resented him but pretended to support him. Those are the worse kinda enemies the ones you let get close to you because you think they care, yet they plotting and keeping score the whole time.
I felt they were both being selfish. Harper wasn't thinking about Robyn's wants and needs buy Robyn didn't necessarily voice them either. She was being selfish by taking his daughter to an entire different country without seemingly getting his approval. One parent shouldn't get more right than the other and I hated that they were all siding with Robyn on this
They spoke nothing but the truth. Harper has been selfish since the first movie and shown exactly what Murch said, it’s always about what’s best for him.
Let’s get this straight. She didn’t want to move a city over which he did for the safety and betterment of his family but then she wants to move to an entirely different country as if it’s the same distance away? Let’s not forget she initially said she wanted to move because it would make HER happy. She do T give a damn about her child having a relationship with her father.
I never felt bad for Robyn because she knew the type of man Harper was from the beginning and still choose to marry him like a dummy 😂
This part got cut off but in the beginning when Robyn said “tell them who means so much to you” to Harper. They all did they thing in this scene
I feel you on that. I think Jordan defending Harper to Robyn definitely could've worked especially if Jordan asked how does a mother do that to a child to which Robyn could've responded at least I'm a mother (FIREWORKS!!!).

Is it me or does it seems like Robin is having a breakdown or something
They both are wrong. Regardless that is still his daughter and it wasn’t right for her to make that decision alone.
So, could you please get your wife, respectfully?”
When Murch came back with that “choose yourself” comment. So, do your research, counselor, before making some statements!l

Merch Stood On Bizness In This Scene 😂
Only thing that was missing from this scene in this series was a conversation between Murch and Harper on how he didn't like his portrayal in the Unfinished Business movie. I don't know why the writers didn't include it. A messy scene they could've included was an argument between Robyn and Jordan, which could have given another reason on why Jordan has been relatable and supportive to Harper and thus they could've finally gotten together after so many years of sincere friendship. BTW I'm Team Harper....
I learned never ask a prison what they went in for unless they want you to know
Murch was just choosing to take out his own frustrations on Harper.
