just to ad some context to this vid. Rabjabs bike had been stolen and gone for a couple months. He was gutted. we got the bike back eventually and had to make it safe and road worthy again.

15hp for a 125cc isn't to bad although nothing compared to the old 33bhp 2 strokes
It's a 125 what do you expect? Not like you can legally go faster than 70 anyway . I love 125s loads of fun and enough speed for the UK roads if avoiding motorways.

The duke 125 isnt really a small bike when it comes to seat height. It’s harder to reach the ground on the duke 125 than it is on my sv1000n or my previous 05 z750

Honestly they are great bikes. Fast for a 125, excluding old 2 strokes aswell. But for a 4 to 5k bike, KTM do need to put some sort of immobilizer on.

I think the new Suzuki gsx125 is slightly more powerful but a more sporty tucked in look. I prefer the streetfighter look myself so would chose the KTM over it

@@johnhodgkins2124 it's for shorter people. It lowers the rear suspension by about an inch and a half or more depending on what you buy. 👌

A loud alarm is good to have, a cover definitely and a big chain should help. Some of the new locks are angle grinder proof aswell which is great

Don't forget to put a picky back ecu on this because it's gonna over fuel having a full system Rapid bike Evo is a pretty good one
We considered it but with only an exhaust change the original ecu will adapt a little for the fueling.
If he added an aftermarket air filter or box then he would need to adjust the fueling.
@@motorcyclerescuer 100% it will run boggy there will be to much fuel I did this on my RC it was really boggy in 1st gear Don't get me wrong it didn't break the bike but it just felt awful when I put a rapid bike evo on it sorted the mixture It makes a massive difference If you ring and speak to any mechanic or call Ktm they will tell you exactly the same thing
This bike has been running for over a year with this exhaust. I've ridden it many times myself. I can assure you it rides great and isn't overly running lean either.

buying the 2023 duke on Tuesday decided to get rid of my car as cost 900£ a month. What exhaust would you recommend?
The early models run best in original tuning however I'm unsure about the mk3 which is what the 2023 is I believe. I don't think any of the small ktms sound good with aftermarket exhausts personally. I prefer quieter so I can go faster.
Saying that the black widow and scorpion systems are good aftermarket ones.

@@motorcyclerescuer yeah but those are tiny I'm flat footed with my knees bent slightly on my mates one lol wanted to ask you about the tracker? Some we rat stole my mt125 few weeks ago bikes only 2 months old and they destroyed the ignition and tank plastics
You can use an air tag or Samsung tag to track or use a proper tracker. The proper tracker will need a yearly subscription but its not much, I think it's £30 a year.
@@motorcyclerescuer well worth it because the ignition barrel was £250 and plastics another £200. You wouldn't have the name of the company by any chance?
This tracker is called the monimoto tracker. Another mate of mine uses it aswell. The battery is ment to last a year and if your bike moves it alerts you. It's then £30 a year I believe to keep it.
How tall are you for curiosity sake I've been looking at 125cc bike but I'm 6,1 so I'm having trouble finding one that fits me correctly
He's pretty short at around 5 foot 5 ish. So the KTM is actually a tall fairly tall bike.
One of the best bikes for a taller rider is the varadero 125cc. Worth looking into

It's just the engine really. I'm not keen on the ktm sound with aftermarket exhaust. They are too loud. I've put my 390 back to original exhaust now

Cheap and reliable dosnt always go together. I don't know what your budget is or where your located. I would sell a serviced chinese bike for around 1k. A serviced older Japanese bike for around £1250.

I think it now has a gpr funny enough. It's a great sound but they are super expensive
