  • In our 4th episode of the Scottish Diaries, we make our way south for the final leg of the Kintyre Trio. Dunaverty sits atop historic land made famous by Dunaverty “Blood” Rock, the site of a 17th-century massacre. Over two-hundred years later, livestock and golf collided to bring a golf experience unlike any other. Tune in and relive the stunning beauty of golf on the farm.

    Living in Scotland you forget about the beauty of your country, as you live within your box. The freedom a car gives you to explore is immense, something I wish I could tell my younger self all those years ago. Great vlog as always Eric, keep entertaining us and showing us the spectacular courses on this planet we live on.

    Played there as a 12 year old and on a return with 3 friends 30 years later had my best 18 hole score ever - you might do that too! Just a joy to play it, alongside the two big Machrihanish courses. You could even play the great little 9 holer at Carradale on the way home.

    Eric next time you are in Scotland you need to try just over the Border on the East coast and play some of the forgotten links courses in north Northumberland on the English side , Goswick Links { open qualifier venue) Bamburgh Castle ( one of Gary Players favourite courses for views etc) Dunstanburgh Castle ( drop dead gorgeous links with Viking castle over looking it , Alnmouth, Foxton . Magdalane fields, Seahouses etc , the area is a golfing gem but people drive straight past heading for Scotland

    • @27dmayer
      @27dmayer 4 роки тому

      Charles Ottoman great stuff Charles , Goswick, Bamburgh, Dunstanburgh , Seahouses and Foxton are all on the coast with some great holes Foxton Hall actually has a dormy house for golfing groups . There are also a couple of links 9 hole courses Warkworth and Alnmouth village , the only inland course on the list is Alnwick , it is a lovely town and has hotels etc so a good base but the course is a parkland course so ok but not like the others , enjoy

    I love these videos, but has anyone else noticed that the musical transitions are about 10x louder than the speaking?

    Looks class! If you are looking for Low Key, head over to the Isle of Iona. There is no clubhouse but what you do is get your scorecard from the Post Office on the island. There is an 18 hole golf course round to the left side of the island however it is just a field with sheep in it and they are the grass cutters. All there is is tee boxes, some flags and sheep, with a massive bull when I played it. Catch it on a calm day. The greatest golf experience ever!

    QUESTION: Have any of you guys had someone question your score just because you're new to the game? Or just because they weren't there to see your solo round? This is the person who basically introduced me to golf and we've played probably 5x now...ive played another 4x alone and I shot my best score of a 106...below my 116 average so far...they constantly ask what shot im on as if to catch me in some Lie when all I want to do is take my time to be accurate...if anything ive penalized myself an EXTRA stroke...
    I don't even consider myself to be on any sort of "Level"...swinging a club isn't totally foreign to me... and I've hit 2k+ golf balls in a 3-4 month period...i played 4 sports growing up so i Understand and Respect the Difficulty of the game...channels like this are teaching me so much and I'm just going at my own pace...
    I hope this isn't a case where my progress is making someone else Uncomfortable...its a friend of mine and I always thank him for tips and feel like we're working on our game/swing Together but Separately...but today it seemed to REALLY bother him when I was a stroke off as im trying to figure out where I sprayed my ball on a par 5 🤷🏾‍♂️...
    ADVICE??!
